5 Honduran Foods You’ll Enjoy

Hey! Are you traveling across the country or perhaps you wanna try something new in the kitchen? Let me introduce you to the culture of Honduras, and inform you of all the traditional delicious food the small country can make.

Carne Asada

First is Carne Asada, Carne Asada is usually grilled beef seasoned and marinated with things such as lemon, cumin seed or black pepper. It’s usually served with a tortilla of some sort as a side. It’s a very great meal to fill up your stomach for dinner in my opinion.

Baleadas

Second is Baleadas, a common breakfast meal. Baleadas are traditional flour tortillas that are usually filled with beans, scrambled eggs, cream, cheese and sometimes other things like avocados or ground beef. It’s a good way to start the morning with some flavor and you probably won’t starve throughout the day like you would with one bowl of cereal.

Pastelitos de Carne

Third, a very popular meat pie that we call Pastelitos de Carne. What it is ground beef complimented with tomatoes, onions and other things stuffed into a pastry. It’s usually served with tomato sauce and shredded cabbage as a dip. Very great filler snack!

Sopa de Caracol

Fourth is a very personal favorite, Sopa de Caracol. Sopa de Caracol is a foreign soup made with different types of vegetables, corn, and seafood. From personal experience, it is a great soup for dinner or lunch since it fills you up real quick! The hotter the better.

Ceviche de Corvina

Last but not least our fifth food, Ceviche de Corvina. Ceviche de Corvina is a fish fillet made with things such as onion, red pepper, shrimp, orange juice and much more all combined in one. Sometimes it’s eaten with a tortilla. A very great snack if you are looking for something quick to eat.

Those are my personal top five foods from Honduras so you know what to order from the menu the next time you visit. From carne asada to ceviche, you have a basic idea of all the deliciousness from one country to another.
