Thrift stores. Some of them are great and some of them are… not so great.
There are many pros and cons about thrift stores. Some of them have great clothes and are cheap but you don’t know who wore those clothes. I think that thrift shops are great even though someone else wore those clothes.
Prices
I gotta be honest, Thrift stores are pretty cool and the prices are amazing. Imagine this, you’re at H&M and you see a pretty cool shirt that everyone in your schools has. You check the price and its $32.00! You don’t want to waste that much money on just one shirt. Many companies are starting to raise the prices on shirts and it’s getting out of hand.
If you went to a thrift shop and saw that same shirt or even a cooler shirt you would probably get it for $7 to $10. That’s a huge deal, you can walk out spending how much you would spend on that one shirt at H&M, With 5 cool new shirts.
Decor/ Looks
Also, the way that they decorate the thrift shops. There are different ways that thrift shops decorate themselves and they look pretty cool. Some go for a more modern and bohemian style and some go for industrial and retro styles. Sometimes stores will take the things they sell and make it look related to what they sell. If you want an outfit that looks vintage then you would go to a store that looks like they would sell what you want.
Cool Facts
Thrift stores also help continue the cycle with everyone helping each other out. Some people may not have that many clothes and need new ones but don’t have that much money to buy more pants or shirts. It also helps when people have old clothes that are too small for them or don’t want them, where instead of throwing them away they can take it to a thrift store and help save the environment.
The majority of thrift stores are donation based. They accept clothing and other things from people who wish to give them away. Many thrift shops are also centered on a charity or non-profit organization so all profits made go towards the organization. Sometimes thrift stores will pay people to bring clothes or when the item is purchased they give you the money.
They have so many categories of clothing and accessories. If you want something vintage or you like the 90s style then thrift stores will probably have those types of clothing. When you walk into a thrift store you don’t know what types of clothing will be there but it will be exciting looking at the many different choices.
If you’re bored and want to hang out with friends or just want to get out of the house and do something productive, Go thrifting. It’s a really fun thing to do on the weekends if you want to go shopping and not have as much money or if you just want to change up your style. I recommend going thrifting with your friends, it’s a really fun activity.
