Japan vs. USA WBC Championship game

USA vs. Japan in the World Baseball Classic championship was one to remember. The whole game was exciting and nail-biting. 

The first inning started with USA’s Mike Trout doubling, but the USA could not Capitalize. Team Japan was held to zero hits in the 1st inning. 

To start the second inning, Trea Turner steps up to the plate after he hit one of the biggest hits in USA history vs. Venezuela. Turner hits again and hammers one to left field. Japan answers right back when Munetaka Murakami crushes one to tie up the game. In the same inning, Japan gets a runner on third, then they hit a sacrifice and get the runner to score 2-1 Japan after two.

The action came in the 4th when Kazuma Okamoto homered to center to bring Japan up two runs. Through the 5th, 6th, and 7th inning was a fielding battle. In the 8th team Japan puts in MLB star pitcher Yu Darvish thinking he will shut the USA down until he faces Kyle Shwarber. On a 2-2 count, he smashes one to the upper deck to bring Japan’s lead to only one.

In the 8th, nothing. In the 9th inning, Japan puts in MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani to pitch. The first batter that faces Ohtani gets walked. Then superstar Mookie Betts steps up to the plate. A 0-1 count Mookie hits a weak ground ball, and Japan turns two. With two outs in the 9th, USA down one, Mike Trout steps up to face his MLB teammate Shohei Ohtani. It gets up to a full count. Shohei Ohtani throws his amazing slider, and strikes Trout out! Japan Wins!

Japan takes home the World Baseball Classic championship for the third time.
