Cats v.s. Dogs–What’s so great about each?

Cats v.s. Dogs–What’s so great about each?

Everyone’s fought over which pet is the best. Obviously there’s more than two animals you can have as a pet, but no one’s fought over them quite like cats and dogs.

74% of people like dogs, and 26% like cats, but this article might change your opinion, or if possible, make you like both.

Dogs:

Dogs have existed for 23,000 years, evolving from a species of wolf, changing their skulls, teeth, nose, and senses to be more kind and obedient. They were named “Man’s best friend,” and are currently the most popular animal on the planet. Dogs are known to be very intelligent and can learn over 100 words and gestures. Dogs’ senses are ten times stronger than humans. They have very strong and sensitive noses, and can hear as far as a quarter of a mile. Their ears are also built so they can understand humans better. If you pay attention to the way a dog acts, you realize that they are a lot like humans, from the way they play around like children, to the way they can be right or left pawed. Dogs are very naturally clever. They learn how to walk and talk from such a young age, even when no one’s there to teach them. They have lots of unique characteristics as well, such as the fact that they can only sweat through their paws, they pant like they do instead of sweating. Dogs, much like humans, can dream. Sometimes if they’re having a bad dream, you can see them whining in their sleep. Did you also know that dogs can only see blue and yellow? They aren’t color blind it’s only how their eyes are designed.

Cats:

Cats have existed for millions of years, much longer than dogs. They evolved from a now extinct wildcat, along with lots of other species in the cat family. They share lots of behaviors with their ancestors, and siblings of the cat family, including the way they hunt, jump, stalk their prey, and an irresistible need to scratch everything. Cats have many unique characteristics and skills, such as their strong ability of night vision. They can see six times better in the dark than people. They can also jump six times higher than their original height. That’s why you often see skittish cats jumping straight up when they get scared. Cats also have many characteristics that help them hunt prey, unlike dogs, who have more friendly characteristics. Cats have soft, thick paws to help them sneak up on prey, and they use their tails to help them balance when they want to walk narrowly, or sneak up easier. Some interesting fun facts about cats is that they walk like camels and giraffes. They walk with both right feet first then left feet. Cats are the only one of their family to walk that way and it’s a very unique feature. They also pur to create a way to soothe their nerves. That’s why they pur when they are uncomfortable or distressed. They also pur when they are happy, like when they get pets.

So the argument still stands. Which one is better? Each has a different, unique lifestyle, and different ways of living. Dog’s are more of a loving animal, and like to play around, while cats are more like their ancestors. While they still like to play and cuddle, they also love to hunt for prey. Some dogs and cats can be different. They can be lazy, or jumpy, and other times they don’t like to cuddle or have some trust issues and don’t love people as easily. You don’t even have to pick out these two. There is a whole world of other animals and pets to choose from.

Best Dogs for smaller living spaces

small dogs

Finding a dog that is suitable for your smaller living space can be hard. Here are a few dogs that might be right for you.

Chihuahuas are small and great for smaller homes. They don’t grow big, only around 5-8 inches tall. Although they are aggressive dogs they can be really sweet to their owners. They don’t weigh all that much, only around 4-6 pounds but that can change depending on how much you feed them. These dogs would be a great choice for your smaller home like many of these other dogs.

Pomeranians are fluffy balls of joy. They are super cute and small just like chihuahuas. Though they are a little bit bigger growing to around 7-12 inches tall. They weigh around 4-8 pounds. They can be aggressive to strangers so make sure to introduce them slowly to new people. Other than that they are happy and chipper dogs.

Japanese Chins are playful and affectionate. Japanese Chins are great to cuddle with. They weigh 7-11 pounds and have a height of 8-11 inches tall. They live around 12-14 years and need a lot of attention but not so much physical exercise.

Yokipoos are so adorable and tiny they only grow to 7-15 inches tall. Hellobark.com says “Yorkipoos are considered hypoallergenic dogs for the most part, although there’s no guarantee they won’t aggravate your allergies.”

If you love lady and the tramp and you want a dog that looks like “lady” then an English Cocker Spaniel is your kind of dog. Males grow up to 16-17 inches and weigh 28-34 pounds. Females on the other hand weigh 26-32 pounds and are 15-16 inches tall. Were bred bird hunting dogs. Live for about 12-14 years. Make sure to train once you get one because a good trained English Cocker Spaniel is a good dog to have.

Pugs are not as light as some of these other breeds. Pugs usually weigh around 14-18 lbs. but that can change if you feed them more often than most. Pugs grow to 12 inches tall. They aren’t hypoallergenic which is a letdown but they are very nice dogs and great for children. They do snore and don’t do so well in hot humid areas so make sure to keep an eye on them while outside when it’s hot. A great website to visit to learn more about pugs is hillspet.com.

If you are interested in any of these dogs I encourage you to see if any places might be selling any of these adorable dogs.

All About Dogs!

All About Dogs!

Have you ever wondered why people love dogs so much? Well, I might have an explanation for you. Here are 10 “amazing facts about dogs”.

Dogs smell

Dogs’ noses are amazing; they can smell so many things. Dogs’ noses are 40 times stronger than ours(humans). Dogs can sniff out way more things than humans such as drugs, people, and even money. Some dogs were trained to sniff out covid-19 because their noses were so amazing. Dogs can sniff at the same time breathing without having to take a break. They rely on their nose for so many things like to find food, potential dangers, and to find people. So it’s nice that they can sniff without having to take a break and being able to breathe.

Dog breeds

Lots of dogs are great swimmers but not all breeds were bred for swimming. Different dog breeds are bred for different things like hounds are bred for their keen sense of smell. Wall poodles like swimming. Their name poodle came from the German word spritzen which means to splash. In 1889 a german man bred 2 dogs to make a german shepherd “the perfect war dog”. Another breed is an Australian shepherd. Witch is bred for herding animals such as cows, and sheep.

Items to have if you get/ have a dog

Some items you should have if you get a dog are food and water bowls. A leash, collar, and dog tag with your phone number if your dog decides to go for a run. A crate that you can put a bed in for if you go on trips. Food which can be canned or dry (i suggest dry). Doggy shampoo and conditioner and maybe a doggy brush. And a doggy bed. for an inside dog, you should get dog pads for training. but for inside dogs that use the potty outside, there are bells that you can hang on your door and teach them to ring it when they have to use the potty. Of course, you can’t forget the treats to reward them when your dog is being a good boy/ girl.

What to do with a new puppy

When you first get a new puppy you must make him or her feel safe. For bedtime, have your new buddy sleep in a crate near your bed put a dog bed that fits, and put a blanket inside so it’s comfortable, and drape another blanket on top so it’s dark. Also, make sure you know who the primary caretaker of the dog is. You coils have one person be one month and then switch, or even a week at a time. Make sure you come up with some rules like are they allowed on the bed, can they run around in the house, what rooms can they not go in, what room can they not go in, and other rules like that.

How fast can dogs run

Dogs can run fast if you run a race between you and your dog would easily beat you. A dog is made to run and chase. The fastest dog by far is a greyhound. A greyhound can run up to 45 mph. The second fastest dog is a german shepherd, which can run up to 30 mph. The average dog can run from 15-20 mph for a short amount of time. But not all dogs can run that fast; some dogs are a lot slower. How fast a dog can run depends on its physical composure and its health and bread.

Dogs ears

Did you know that dogs have 18 muscles controlling their ears? These muscles help move their ears, even just slightly. Dogs’ ears can tell us about their feelings. My dog likes to “guard things” where she likes to protect things and we know when she’s doing this by first, her ears twitch slightly. And second by her trying to bite us.

That’s your pet: the story of how a family ended up adopting a bear instead of a dog

That’s your pet: the story of how a family ended up adopting a bear instead of a dog

A family lived in China and when they went on a road trip they saw some adorable little puppies the family fell in love so they decided to bring one home. The man who sold the puppies told them this was a Tibetan mastiff and would get very large but they would find out some odd things in the next two years including that he would get huge. They named the cute “dog” little black but he would not say little for long. At first, everything was fine but soon they realized he had an odd appetite for noodles and fruit.

They also soon realized he was able to stand on his hind legs the family realized their pet was quite strange but they didn’t think anything of it at the time. They knew their dog was going to get big but not this big the man they bought him from said he would grow to be 2 feet high but he didn’t stop at 2 feet he grew to 3 feet and weighed 250 pounds witch had the family on edge when their pet was this massive and he had some massive teeth but big dog big teeth right that’s what the mother of the family thought but she began to be scared of her pet.

They spent tons of money on him because when he ate fruit and noodles he ate buckets of them and wouldn’t eat any dog food whatsoever witch was also a concern to the family. Pretty soon he was forced to go outside because he was too big to fit in the house so they made him an enclosure in their backyard. When the officials found out about her strange dog they rushed to her house and she found out it was not a dog they
were lied to and told it was a large dog but it turned out to be a 250-pound bear.

The family was very startled to find out they had a pet Asiatic black bear and had kept it for 2 years the officials were surprised that this endangered bear looked very healthy. They loved their pet so you could imagine how hard this all was. The officials took the bear and brought it to a wildlife rescue center where they can care for the bear properly. Some people don’t get how they have mistaken a dog for a bear but the family said little black did start to look more like a bear as he grew older.

This is not the only time this has happened there are multiple stores where wild animals have been taken as pets to later discover had wild animals pets this has happened all over the world in multiple cases such as a family in texas brought home two kittens that turned out to be bobcats in another case a rescue brought in what they believed to be a box of puppies but were jackals but they had been too much socialized with humans so an employee got permission to keep the jackals there have also been incidents with wolves being mistaken for dogs there are a lot of animals that look very similar so if u ever encounter a new animal do your research before keeping it.

Emma Stone, actress of original Cruella plans to be in sequel

Emma Stone, actress of original Cruella plans to be in sequel

Emma Stone has officially closed a deal to be in the sequel to Cruella. Due to the pandemic, Cruella was released in theaters on May 26. Cruella 2 is a way off though. Cruella got 74% on rotten tomatoes and earned an ‘A’ from the audience. Also, people are comparing Cruella to the Joker and it’s pretty accurate.

When Disney first released the trailer, everyone immediately started comparing it to the Joker. Some of the comparisons included her laugh, her makeup, and some of the expressions she made about society. Many people have been calling her “Disney’s Joker,” but Cruella is not as violent and dark as the Joker.
There have been lots of reviews saying it is a surprisingly entertaining origin story for such an iconic Disney villain. Cruella is the story of how the villain from “101 Dalmatians” became how she is. Cruella had a great cast including award winner, Emma Stone. The amazing cast just brought the whole film together. Emma Stone was able to pull off this role brilliantly and was a fine pick.
But Emma Stone isn’t the only one who did fantastically, Emma Thompson played “an egotistical and downright nasty fashion designer named The Baroness, and she takes the role head-on.” Along with the two Emma’s, you have “fine performances from the secondary roles like Joel Fry as Jasper and Mark Strong as John the Valet, but it’s Paul Walter Hauser as Horace who steals the show.” Many other villain stories from Disney have been harder to love and turn into heroes, but Cruella has a different feel to it. The story has a great hook, and many twists and turns with reveals and surprises.

“The filmmakers of “Cruella” have not turned her into a lovable hero, but rather a misunderstood genius with a mean streak and namesake she has deserved.” One of the best parts of Cruella is how it takes you to their world. You get lost in the world that is being formed before you.
Cruella takes place in 1970’s London but there is some dramatic flair and spunk added to it that is completely fascinating. The sets have been designed to match characters and you can tell that there was a lot of detail and work put into the set of Cruella that truly brings it together. Is Cruella a movie worth watching? “Considering the set pieces, detailed costumes, and moments of action, this is a movie that would be appreciated on the big screen.” This film makes you sympathize with a dog-killing villain.

Even though so many people love Cruella, there are still a lot of people who love 101 Dalmatians more. It is original and classic. In Cruella, it is different because you’ve taken this character and made this entirely new and different story to go with it. It is really interesting because there are many parts where you can make the connection to 101 Dalmatians.
Some of the connections that are in the film are when at her school she meets Anita Darling and becomes her friend. They also meet again when they are older and at the end of the movie, Cruella gives her a Dalmatian named Perdita. Roger Dearling is also in the movie, but Roger and Anita do not meet yet.
“Then, of course, there’s Jasper and Horace, Cruella de Vil’s faithful lackeys.” Although in the movie they aren’t super on-board all the time. At one point they regret taking her in because of the way that she treats them when she is Cruella and not Estella.
This movie is very entertaining and has many good elements that make it that way and affect how the viewers see the film and the characters.

Police Dog Find 24 pounds of cocaine in Bathroom Vanity

Police Dog Find 24 pounds of cocaine in Bathroom Vanity

A Drug trafficker got busted by a police dog. A determined police dog sniffs out more than 20 pounds of cocaine in a Bronx apartment. The cocaine was found behind a secret cabinet vanity in the bathroom and there were more than 20 pounds of it in there. The K-9 also helped bust Cesar Chavez, 51, and two others who were found with $125,000 in cash and a large amount of cocaine worth about $600,000.
Cesar Chavez is a man who kept a very large amount of cocaine during the CoronaVirus pandemic. His nephew Cristian Rodriguez and Roberto Javiar-Bastia both were in the Bronx and also caught by the sting. The police found lots of cash in the backpack and about half a kilogram of cocaine under that. All of the activities that happened, happened on September 3.
The DEA was notified when they saw Cesar Chavez carrying a brick-shaped package wrapped in plastic with Javier-Batista as they were leaving what they suspected to be Chavez’s apartment. Cristian Rodriguez and Roberto Javiar-Bastia hopped in a vehicle with the drug trafficker Chaves behind the wheel. Later they were observing a video of Chavez leaving his apartment and he had the same brick package seen earlier that day. Then after that, he got in a vehicle driven by Rodriguez Chavez.
When the police stopped the car they got in and found that Javiar-Bastia was trying to stash the package that they later found out was 2.2 pounds of cocaine. They then took Chaves’s key and then used it to get into his apartment and found the 20 pounds of cocaine. The cocaine packages in the bathroom had a stamp of a Chinese dragon. The cocaine in the packages would be worth about half a million dollars and would put at least a dent in their drug trafficking operations.
Cezar Chavez was charged with operating as a major trafficker and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first and third degrees. “As traffickers navigate COVID-impacted drug markets, their drug stashes are more valuable and their concealment methods more necessary, as evident in this investigation,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan.

Pet Dogs And What They Do For Us

dogs

Pet dogs

Dogs are not only great pets but according to facts, kids that grow up with dogs will be healthier and happier. According to, 5 Advantages for Kids Who Grow Up With Dogs. “Recent studies in pediatric health have concluded that children who lived with pets (but especially dogs) during their first year of life actually had a better immune system than those who did not.”

What do they do?

Pets have become very attached to humans and our behaviors and emotions, especially dogs and cats. Dogs and cats can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, relieve loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even can even improve your cardiovascular health.

What do dogs help us with?

Dogs can help teach kids how to be responsible. Between the feeding, picking up after it, walking, and bathing it.

Another thing that dogs help with is immune systems. Studies from studies in pediatric health show that children who lived with pets (especially dogs) during their first year of life actually had a better immune system than those who did not grow up with a dog. It believes that exposure to dogs may have boosted the child’s maturation of their immune system in their infancy. For example, if they get sick they’d need a shorter amount of antibiotics.

Thirdly, is autism. From the website 5 Advantages for Kids Who Grow Up With Dogs, it says Did you know that 1 in 45 children in the United States has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? That is nearly 2% of the entire population of children ages 2-17 years of age. Non-profits, such as autism companions have found that therapy dogs have an amazing impact on the quality of life and development of children with ASD.” some benefits are, that dogs provide security, they also actually decrease the chances of kids having meltdowns, dogs can also decrease aggression in a child, and lastly, dogs can increase the ability to face a fearful situation.

And now the most important. Emotional health. First mindfulness, when dogs are laying down in the sunshine that is shining through the window it shows that they are focusing on the present moment. And when you are on a walk with your dog, your not just walking your walking in silence doing almost nothing, but having nothing to do but walk makes it possible to recover the pure impact of being present, to think about the simple joy of existing.

Next, from the website How Dogs Drive Emotional Well-being “When my father was dying of cancer, it was my dog, Ginger, who brought me the most comfort. Every morning before visiting my father at the hospital, she and I walked to our secret place — a hidden, rocky perch in a nearby park from where we could look out over the water — and just sat. I stared in thought, sometimes crying, other times frustrated, and Ginger got close enough to my body so I knew she was there to support me. She waited for my cues, watching my every move.” the comfort that dogs bring to people’s lives is incredible. Lastly is dogs help with loneliness and depression. Even though social media is popular right now and we can be really connected to it, things can happen on it that will make us feel lonely and depressive but research shows that the benefits of owning a dog has a sense of companionship and dogs can have social support that can lead to less loneliness. According to Gary Christenson, a medical officer at Boynton Health Service at the University of Minnesota, it comes down to a pet’s loyalty and devotion: “There is a bond and companionship that makes a big difference in mental health.”

So in conclusion, dogs can really help you and it would be a good idea to get one.
