I get really bored in my house so I go immediately to Netflix or Amazon Prime and here are some of my favorite shows for when I’m bored or just looking for something to watch.
1. Stranger Things (PG-13)
Stranger Things is a show that takes place in the 1980s and it was made by Matt and Ross Duffer. The show takes place in the town of Hawkins, Indiana. There is a group of kids who always play Dungeons and Dragons, which the monsters in the show actually attack the kids and there are tons of twists and turns. The kids also discover a parallel dimension called the Upside Down. My Favorite season and episode is season 3 episode 5 but a fan favorite is season 4.
2. Locke and Key (On Netflix Rated TV-14)
Locke and Key is based on a book by Joe Hill, which is a fantasy series where three siblings and their mom move into their late father’s/husband’s mysterious house. They find magical keys that unlock different powers and secrets and not all keys are good. I love this show because it’s more of a scary vibe and has tons of surprising things that happened.
3. Outer Banks (On Netflix Rated TV-MA)
Outer Banks is made by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke and is located in North Carolina. There is a group of teens also known as the Pogues as they search for a legendary treasure linked to one of their missing fathers. With tons of unexpected twists. I love this show because I feel like the actors matched their roles perfectly.
4. The Summer I Turned Pretty (On Amazon Prime Rated TV-14)
The Summer I Turned Pretty was a book made by Jenny Han. The show is about a girl named Belly who spends summers at a beach house with her family and friends every summer. This summer is different, though, as she finds herself caught in a love triangle between two brothers. This was great because it had me second guessing my predictions and a lot of unexpecting things happened.
5. Cobra Kai (On Netflix Rated TV-14)
Cobra Kai and the Karate Kid movies go hand and hand because It has some of the same actors and takes place years later and focuses on Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso but they are now adults and still enemies. The parents kids had to face tons of challenges and take after their fathers roles by getting into karate
6. Ginny and Georgia (On Netflix Rated TV-14)
This show Ginny and Georgia is about a girl named Ginny who is a 15 year old girl and her 30 year old mother, Georgia who had 2 kids at a very young age. Ginny and Georgia is a romance show getting you wondering who is going to get together.
7. My Life With The Walter Boys (On Netflix Rated PG-13)
In My Life With The Walter Boys, a girl named Jackie has a family incident so then she has to start brand new with a house full of boys which catches her in a love triangle with 2 brothers and she doesn’t know what to do.
8. On My Block Freeridge (On Netflix Rated TV-14)
On My Block Freeridge is a show made after the original series called On My Block, featuring a new group of friends in the same neighborhood. They have a Paranormal experience which leads to tons of drama. I didn’t watch On My Block but On My Block Freeridge made total sense to me.
9. Tall Girl 1 & 2 (On Netflix Rated TV-PG)
These films are made by Nzingha Stewart. It is about a girl named Jodi, who is being bullied because she is a really tall girl. Her friend Jack likes her but he is too short for her. This is a romance show so it will get you shipping people together. Jodi is struggling with insecurities in high school. Which is great to be relatable for teens who face their own insecurities.
10. Surviving Summer (On Netflix Rated TV-PG)
Surviving Summer is made by Joanna Werner and Josh Mapleston. In Surviving Summer, a teen named Summer is sent to Australia, where she goes to live with her aunt and their family is really into surfing. Then, Summer gets into surfing and there are tons of competitions. This was a great show because it wasn’t easy to predict what was going to happen.
Some of these shows have the same vibe and some don’t but they’re all still super awesome and in my opinion the best shows to watch when i’m bored
