Top Surprises in the NFL through Week 7

Top Surprises in the NFL through Week 7

We are six weeks into the NFL season and there have been a lot of things that no one saw coming. That’s what we’ll be looking at today, surprising things that have happened so far this NFL season. It could be teams that weren’t expected to be very good but are, teams that were expected to be good but aren’t, and everything in between.

The Tennessee Titans

What better place to start than Buffalo, New York, a place that most people don’t care about, but recently the Bills have been making some noise. So far they are 4-2, their first game was against a Pittsburgh Steelers team that hasn’t been very good this year, but they ended up losing 23-16. The Bills were expected to win that game, but the Steelers came through with the win. After that game the Bills went on a roll winning four in a row against the Miami Dolphins, Washington Football Team, Houston Texans, and Kansas City Chiefs, who have had a rocky start to the season at 3-4. Last week the Bills played the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football in a narrow 34-31 loss improving the Titans to 4-2, and after another good game from the Titans beating the Chiefs and improving to 5-2.

The Titans’ schedule so far this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs

A team that you can’t tell much about is the Kansas City Chiefs because this year they haven’t been very consistent at 3-3. They’re tied for last place in the AFC West with the Denver Broncos. In week 1 they narrowly defeated a good Cleveland Browns team that has been battling with a lot of injuries, 33-29. After that, they lost by one to an extremely good Baltimore Ravens team by 1 point and then to the Los Angeles Chargers by 6 points. They then beat the Eagles and of course lost to the Bills, and beat the Washington Football Team, and lost to the Titans, going to 3-4. The Chiefs lost to four good teams, beat one, and then won against two of the worst teams this year. After this week’s loss against the Titans, the Chiefs become 3-4, tied for last place in their conference with the Broncos.

The Chiefs schedule so far this season.

The Cleveland Browns

The Seattle Seahawks suffered from a devastating injury to their star quarterback Russel Wilson. A team that is usually very good and a playoff contender looks out of running this year especially with a 2-4 start to the season with their only wins against the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers, both teams under .500. The Cleveland Browns have had a rocky start to the season at 3-3. They have suffered from injuries to all their best players, Jarvis Landry, one of their receivers, Odell Beckham Jr. who’s one of the best receivers in the league, and their quarterback Baker Mayfield, but Baker and OBJ are both playing through their injuries. Their running back, one of the best in the NFL, Nick Chubb is out with a calf injury, and their backup running back Kareem Hunt is also injured preventing the Browns from consistently being able to win. Their wins are against the Texans, who are under .500, the Bears who are also barely under .500, and the Vikings who are at .500. They also added a win against the Denver Broncos this week without their starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, Starting running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, and their star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The Browns’ schedule so far this season.

The Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are still the best team in the NFL so far this season, as the only remaining undefeated team and doing well so far after a 31-5 victory over the Texans. They have been very impressive this season defeating the Titans, Vikings, Jaguars, Rams, 49ers, Browns, and of course the Texans. Three of those 7 teams are pretty good this year, the Titans, Rams, and Browns, and they defeated all three of them. Their closest game wasn’t against any of those, their closest game was against the Vikings in a narrow 1 point victory 34-33. Their next game is against the Green Bay Packers who are very good this year, so it should be a very interesting and action-packed game.

Tackle Football vs. Flag Football, Which One Is Better Among Youth?

Tackle Football vs. Flag Football, Which One Is Better Among Youth?

Tackle Football, or Flag? Some kids may be asking themselves this question, to see if they want to play it safe, or to go right into the big boy league. This is an opinion

There are pros and cons, ups and downs, and parents worrying about their kids, so here are a few.

Tackle Football

Tackle football is one of the more popular sports among younger children along with soccer and basketball. Tackle football is a contact sport that includes tackling (Durr), running, passing, and a lot of shoving. If you want to play in a league, or not get injured, you play in heavy pads. These include a helmet, shoulder pads, and knee pads (And a cup if you want).

Pros to Tackle include:

Much more exercise is included when getting ready for games, players might even be worked so hard they will throw up. but as they say, no pain, no gain

Players can just run over other players, and boy is it exhilarating. If you can take a handoff, and run down the field after trucking someone to the ground, it is just pure hype. Or on the other side of the ball, if someone else takes the handoff and you break through the line, and boom trucked, fumble, and scoop and score.

It’s much more of a team game, let me explain. Let’s say in basketball, you miss 10 shots in a row, not good for your team. But as long as you are not playing quarterback, there is much more margin of error.

There is usually a position for everyone. If you are on the bigger side, Defensive Tackle, or a Linemen on Defence, OR offense. Or if you are fast and skinny, wide receiver, or safety, or even a cornerback. There are so many areas for everyone to be able to get playtime.

Cons to Tackle Football

The game is much more dangerous compared to most any other sport. Many bruises can occur and even Broken bones. There are season-ending injuries, and concussions or players are out for only the next game or two.

You have to work your butt OFF to get a starting position. Players can’t expect to walk into the 9th-grade team and immediately get starting time, or even playing time at all. If you don’t prove to your coach that you can work to your limits, no luck with that buddy.

Coaches aren’t all baby-on players, players can’t make mistakes or they can get yelled at by the said coach.

Flag Football

Flag Football is the equivalent of a little sister that can’t be touched or else she will cry. Tackle football is that tough, older brother that will beat anyone up for you. Flag football has many different rules, but at the same time many similarities, still sticking with the ¨Football¨ area of the game.

Pros to Flag Football

Fewer injuries will occur to players due to minimal contact.

Players pull flags from off of the waist of the ball carrier and can cause contact to the other player.

Everyone gets playing time, with 0 ¨Starters¨ actually on the team.

There isn’t a ¨Draft¨ and players can just choose what team they are on.

It’s league play, not competitive club play unless you want to.

Cons To Flag Football

Flag Football has no contact rules, which means players can tackle others or hit them.

Players can’t run up the middle in some leagues, which causes a lot of penalties.

Players can’t ¨Stiff-Arm¨ other defenders or guard the player’s flags. This will result in a flag penalty.

Games are played on an 80-yard field, instead of a full 100-yard field.

Games are much shorter with the games lasting almost an hour including stops and halftime.

Most good players have moved to tackle football, so there’s a chance of playing with a below-average team.

There is minimal exercise compared to Tackle football, not as much running, or easier practices.

If we are being completely honest, it all comes down to how much you want to work, or how hard you want to play, etc. most of these decisions come down to opinion, but if players want to have a chance at playing high school or even Collegiate football, go for tackle football at a younger age.

Zac Wilson going to the NFL and maybe a Bowl Game

Zac Wilson going to the NFL and maybe a Bowl Game

The BYU offense this year so far has been a force to be reckoned with. With Zac Wilson as their quarterback who is tearing up every defense they come up against and being looked at for the NFL and the Heisman. The BYU offense has just been as good as it gets in college football. With BYU’s insane quarterback Zac Wilson leading BYU’s offensive charge this year. BYU is a good team this year and a vital part of that is their quarterback Zac Wilson. With Zac Wilson having an unbelievable season so far the BYU offense has been pretty scary for a lot of team defenses. BYU’s offensive success is not only credited to Zac Wilson though. The offensive line has been insane and his receivers rarely drop a pass the whole season so far. BYU and has been playing great and a great influencer of that has been their quarterback Zac Wilson.

The whole BYU team is playing great this year. This means there is possibly going to be a big new year’s day bowl game for them. A good bowl game for BYU would be phenomenal for them. If they play a good team that would be one of the best games to watch for a little new year’s day football. The chance is slim for this but if BYU keeps moving up in the rankings like they are, maybe they make it to the top four. Which means they would have a chance at a national title. Although this is unlikely many people believe BYU is good enough for that to happen. A game like that would go down in BYU’s football history and that would be a very vital game for BYU’s football program. The chance of BYU getting a good New year’s day bowl game is pretty likely to happen and that will be a game all BYU football fans will need to watch.

BYU had a good year this year and a very important person leading this is Zac Wilson. With Zac Wilson playing as good as he has this season there is no question that he is being looked at by many different teams and people. Zac Wilson is planned to be a first-round draft prospect this year. Many different NFL teams are looking at him, a main big one though is the San Francisco Forty Niner’s. There is a very high likelihood of Zac Wilson getting picked up this year in the NFL draft. Which is good for him, but not so good for BYU football. Besides that though Zac Wilson is seriously getting looked at for being the Heisman Trophy winner. The likelihood of him getting it is low, but it is still a massive achievement to even be in the running for a reward like that. BYU football and Zac Wilson have played extremely well this year so far and are ready to keep on beating teams.

BYU Football everything Important

BYU Football everything Important

BYU Football Everything important

BYU football has been playing phenomenology so far this year.  With their blowout win against Western Kentucky last week. That win still proves that BYU football is still playing great this season.  It may not have been Zac Wilson’s stand out game, but he and BYU football still played great against Western Kentucky.  Kalani Sitake said, “My favorite part about that game was probably when we stopped them on the one-yard line 4 plays in a row.”  Many of the players were asked what their favorite part of that game was and a lot of them said that.  They said it was just one of those moments where you are just so excited that you made the play.  The win over Western Kentucky state was still a fun one even though it was a blowout.

With BYU football-playing so well there is no surprise that their rank is going to be pretty good.  This week with their win against Western Kentucky. They moved up to number 9 in both the coaches poll and the AP top 25.  That is very important and good for the BYU football program they have not been ranked that high for a long, long time.  Being in the top 10 for college football is just very and important.  Hopefully when they get this next win against Boise that will hopefully help them move up in the ranking even more.  All we can do is hope that BYU will keep thriving in the BYU college football rankings.

BYU this week is going up against supposedly the hardest game they are going to have this season.  Boise State this upcoming Boise game is going to be a deciding game for BYU football if they lose this game it will hurt them.  When they win though they will probably be even better off than they were before.  Boise is going to be a hard game for BYU football.  Especially with this short week, they had this week. With this short week because of the game being on Friday, it is at even more of a disadvantage.  Also making a short week shorter the players got a day off on election day.  Even though will all of this happening though BYU is still confident they are going to beat Boise State.  BYU still has the advantage of having played 7 games and winning them all.  While in the mean, time Boise State has played two and won both.  Although they have done that while playing two games neither of the teams they played were good teams.  BYU has the advantage I think all we can do though is hope BYU plays a good game and wins it.

Top FIve Picks & My Thoughts

Trevor Lorence NY jets

Trevor lorence has covid-19 and some people say that will take him out of the number 1 spot I don’t thank so he is a once and a lifetime player and he has mobility. I think he is a star already if the jets can build around him they have a chance to make a playoff push.

Peni Sewill won the outland trophy in college at Oregon as the best offensive linemen in the country and will protect the quarterback at the next level no matter who he plays for. And hes just going to get better

Mica parsons ATL Falcons

Atlanta needs defenders and mica parsons can get in the backfield in the time you blink and can hit harder than most linebackers and can run with some wideresevers in my opinion he is the second best player in this draft behind triore lawrence.

Justin fields jaguars

The  jags need to move on from gardner minchu and they wil ether cut him or trade him for some draft pick and I thank its up for grabs justin fields or tray lance but tray lance will fit better for the jags symptom.

The Dallas cowboys need help in the second dairy and patrick surtain is the answer to some help with alabama rookie trevon diggs joining him again

BYU Football and Trick Plays with Jake Oldroyd

BYU Football and Trick Plays with Jake Oldroyd

BYU Football and Trick Plays with Jake Oldroyd

BYU football has had a great season so far this year.  When they went up against one of the hardest teams in their schedule though they started behind.  They were down for a little while against Houston.  Everyone was kind of nervous, but then we had a chance. Jake Oldroyd walked onto the field and did a trick play, he did an onside kick.  Not a person had any clue what he was doing except for the person who was gonna get the ball.  BYU recovered it and that is what led the way to BYU defeating Houston.  BYU getting that onside kick swung the whole momentum of that game.  That was very important for BYU, Jake Oldroyd gives all the credit to the person who got the ball, Talmage Gunther.  Jake says without him it would not have been possible.  That one play was one of the most vital things in the entire game.  Without that extra confidence boost right there who knows what could have happened, but with that BYU was able to get the win over Houston 43 to 26.

There is no doubt that what Jake did was very important in that game.  Jake says that is not the only trick he has up his sleeve though.  He said that one play was just one of many that he has been working on.  He said that he has been working on that play called the chip, 9 since he was in high school.  He said he and Talmage Gunther had been working on that play for forever.  He said that they had run it so many times.  Jake was very happy about that play, but he still says without Talmage that great trick play would not have been possible.

With that play though BYU´s undefeated season is still going.  With BYU high in the rankings right now people are very optimistic for the rest of the season.  BYU’s next really difficult game is going to be against Boise state.  If BYU wins that one they could possibly have an undefeated season this year which would be crazy for the BYU football program.  People are very happy with BYU so far this year, but no matter what happens this will still be a legendary season for BYU football.  They are set up good for these next few games with Jake Oldroyd playing great and BYU undefeated so far they are still bound to have a great rest of the season.

BYU Football Games 3-6

BYU football 2020 games 3-6

Vs Louisiana Tech Game 3 of the 2020 season against Louisiana tech was a good one. The Cougars came into this game 2-0. They had a lot of hype coming into the game. BYU QB Zach Wilson threw for 24-26, 325 yards, 2 throwing touchdowns, and 3 rushing touchdowns. Wilson was on the Heisman Trophy watch list after that week. The Heisman trophy is the trophy for the best overall player of the whole season. They were ranked at the time and got higher in the AP poll rankings. They blew out Louisiana tech 45-14.

Vs UTSA BYU came into the game with a big win against Louisiana Tech. Hoping for a big win against UTSA. They got the job done winning 27-20 it was a lot closer than people would have thought. UTSA wasn’t that good and BYU made them look great. A fumble at the goal line and a late-game touchdown made the game seem a lot closer than it was but it still wasn’t pretty.

At Houston, Houston was by far the best team coming into the game they played so far. The cougars being 4-0 so far they didn’t want to ruin the perfect season. Houston came into the game hot in the first half. At the end of the first half, it was 17-14 Houston leading the game. BYU had lots of plays in the second half including an onside kick. Towards the end of the fourth quarter, the score was 26-14 for Houston. But that’s where the momentum switched BYU went on a scoring spree and finished the game strong. They ended up crushing the other team 42-26. BYU was now 5-0 and ranked number 12 in the country. Zach Wilson was stellar in the game. He is now ranked number 4 in the Heisman Trophy race. The biggest win of the season so far.

Vs Texas State, Texas State came into this game 1-5 but almost beat 2 teams that are very good this year. They started the game and quickly scored a TD in the first quarter. BYU game back and scored around 40 unanswered points to crush them. BYU rolled and showed no sign of weakness. They were favored to win by 28 points. They ended up beating them 51-14. They moved up in the rankings one making them the 11 best team in the country.  There is a lot of debate on whether BYU is actually the 11 best team. They play boise state on November 6. If they win hopefully it will prove that they are really good.

BYU Celebrates Having 51.5 Points Per Game

BYU Celebrates Having 51.5 Points Per Game

BYU Celebrates Having One of Their Best Seasons in History

Many are impressed with BYU’s performance these last two games and BYU’s excited about those games too. BYU is very excited about these last two games and rightfully so. BYU has averaged 51.5 points these last two games making BYU a force to reckon with. However, there is controversy on how one of the players celebrated after scoring a touchdown. The player’s name is Issac Rex. After scoring the first touchdown of his career he started doing a dance. He said the coach told the team to dance and to do this one specific dance. Then when Rex scored the touchdown he did not know how to do the dance or how to dance at all in that matter. He ended up doing a horrible dance and many people said Rex is just not a good dancer. Issac Rex did admit the dance was not good and his dancing skills are horrible and below average.

Although everyone is questioning the dance, people were still excited about what BYU has done so far. BYU has done really well so far, they have beaten each team with flying colors with their average score being 51.5 points. BYU’s head coach, however, is proud of his team and well they are doing and in the end he just wants his team to have fun. BYU is proud of what they have accomplished so far into this season. Of course, BYU probably feels like dancing right now because everything is clicking for them. Everything is going right and tomorrow October 3rd BYU will be versing LA tech. Some fans are hopeful for this next game others are not so hopeful. Hopefully, BYU can keep their 51.5 points per game average, and hopefully, they can beat out LA tech.

BYU has done great so far this season and only time will tell if they win tomorrow’s game. However, BYU has so far versed Navy with the end score being 55-3. They have also versed Troy with the end score being 48 BYU and 7 troy. BYU is going full steam ahead into this next game after they destroyed Navy and beat Troy with a really good lead. However, BYU knows there are still some problems going on. BYU’s offense is not perfect and they are still back at the drawing board fixing their offense. BYU’s other goal is to keep up the pace because the Bulldogs have an average of 48.5 points a game. BYU is going to have to do well this next game to keep up the pace and not get beaten by the bulldogs. However BYU’s performance so far this season definitely makes their horrible dancing reasonable.

Jake Oldroyd’s 70-yard field goal

Jake Oldroyd’s 70-yard field goal

This field goal was big and definitely needed for the BYU v.s Texas State game. A 70-yard field goal in a college football game is very good, and it helped the Cougars to pull off the win against them. This wasn’t the only good thing, they also had a 10-yard onside kick by Jake Oldroyd was something that he had been practicing and waiting for the right time to strike and use it on Texas State. These two kicks were amazing and they were well-practiced and well used.

Jake Oldroyd’s famous field goal

Jake was ready for this kick but didn’t exactly expect 70-yards to kick for a field goal. He accepted it and got ready for this very long kick. “Jake Olroyd measured the distance in his mind, looked far down the field, and checked the uprights.” Then he backed up and got ready for the kick, and then just let it fly through the air. Jake never thought of himself ever kicking more than 60-yards, but in that game he did it, and this gave him a lot more confidence. This kick also made him hope that he will have more consistent kicks for other shorter kicks.

Sure there were others on the team that had great achievements like Zach Wilson, BYU’s main quarterback, and his 400-yard passing day which he got plenty of credit for, or Dax Milne’s 3 receiving touchdowns. But Jake’s contribution in this game was just as crucial as the other’s.

The onside 10-yard kick

Now as Jake had already kicked the field goal, he wasn’t asked to boot a 70-yarder. But one thing he was on the field for was for a 10-yard onside kick which he had also previously practiced. This kick had been practiced by Jake for a long time now, and also he did similar things like this kick in high school. He had been ready for a long time and was very excited when he was finally going to do it. Jake kicked the football straight into the air which was successfully caught by Talmage Gunther midair. This led them to have two first downs, and although they got a few first downs they still had to punt twice for Houston. With BYU’s undefeated season, their defense held and with their force they made them punt. With BYU having the ball they got a nice shovel pass in for a touchdown. BYU ended the game with a win, and as others on the team had done well and got many great achievements, Jake Oldroyd was just as crucial in that game especially with the things he contributed towards the win.

I like watching football.

You don’t know what’s going to happen inthe next play. The quarterback says hike and the play underway. The quarterback drops back and looks to throw. He scans the field and he sees the wide receiver striking down the field he lodes up to throw and launched the ball as hard as he can. The wide receiver caught the ball and spread from the defense and scored the touchdown.

My dream is to see this play performed by the Dallas Cowboys in the 55 Super Bowl.

In the 2019/ 2020 season, the Dallas Cowboys went 8-8. not good but also not herbal. Here are some team stats.

  • The Dallas Cowboys had 379 first down in the whole season.
  • Dak Prescott had to pass 3576 yards in the 2019/2020 season.
  • Ezekiel Elliott had 1656 rushing yards in the 2019/2020 season.
  • Amari Cooper had 1189 receiving yards in the 2019/2020 season.
  • The Cowboys defense 62 sacks all together in the 2019/2020 season.

The cowboys signed Mike McCarthy as their head coach and they fired their whole coaching staff.

And we need to resign Randall Cobb Robert Qwin Kai Forbath Amari Cooper Dak Prescott. I am extremely excited for the 2020 season. The Dallas Cowboys will hopefully in the 2020 NFL draft they will get grant Delpit safety out of LSU aka Louisiana State University and the Boise State defensive end Tipa Galeai in the second round.

I think the Dallas Cowboys will win the 20/21 season and go to the super bowl 55 in Tampa bay a little prediction Cowboys beat the Baltimore Ravens 30 to 22 I hope you found this article interesting and maybe you watch next year’s NFL season. Mean well maybe you can watch the XFL no I’m just kidding who wants to watch that.
