Rocket League: The Ultimate E-sport

Rocket League: The Ultimate E-sport

Rocket League

If someone mentions to you the name “Rocket League”, unless you have heard of the game, you will most likely think it’s a game that has “rockets” and it’s some sort of league. Nope, not even close.

Rocket League is a game that essentially could be named “car soccer”, let me explain. “Car soccer” is essentially a game where you are placed in the third-person view of a car. This car can do many things your normal car can’t such as; (double) jumping, flipping, boosting, and flying in the air.

The game arrived in stores for $20 in mid-2015 and was a small game. A sequel to the infamous game, with the infamous name, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. or SARPBC, try pronouncing that.

The entire game was placed inside a boxed-off stadium and had little “egg” people in the stands cheering and bouncing up and down. Customizable cars and goal explosions are also an option. These customizable items have different rarities, starting from uncommon, then going to rare, very rare, import, exotic, and finally, black market. The game’s currency is called “credits” and is $1 for 100 credits.

The game just recently went out in stores as “Free To Play” and that brought an UNHEARD amount of players, sometimes having over 1 million players online at a time! Since then the game has declined in popularity, but still racks in more players a day than before the game went free to play.

Mechanics

The game has many mechanics that involve such things as I mentioned before. The basics of these mechanics are:

  •  Ariels, hitting the ball while in the air
  •  Wave-dashes, front flipping before you hit the ground to propel yourself forward
  • Double taps, hitting the ball into the back wall of the opponents net
  • Air dribble, dribbling the ball in the air
  • Dribbles, carrying the ball on top of your car without it touching the ground
  • Flicks, flicking the ball while dribbling.

Now, these are the bare bones, almost anyone can do these things mechanics. Some of these are harder than others, but most anyone above the rank of platinum can do ALL (or should be able to).

Speaking of ranks, in the competitive playlist, depending on how good you are, the game will give you a rank. Every win you get, you get a certain amount of MMR (MatchMaking Rank). The higher in the ranks you go, the harder it gets, or longer it takes to get to that next rank. Ranks have levels to them, there is division 1-4, and different levels for the actual name of the rank.

Rankings (From worst to best)

  • Bronze 1 Division 1-4
  • Bronze 2 Division 1-4
  • Bronze 3 Division 1-4
  • Silver 1 Div 1-4
  • Silver 2 Div 1-4
  • Silver 3 Div 1-4
  • Platinum 1 Div 1-4
  • Platinum 2 Div 1-4
  • Platinum 3 Div 1-4
  • Diamond 1 Div 1-4
  • Diamond 2 Div 1-4
  • Diamond 3 Div 1-4
  • Champion 1 Div 1-4
  • Champion 2 Div 1-4
  • Champion 3 Div 1-4
  • Grand Champion 1 Div 1-4
  • Grand Champion 2 Div 1-4
  • Grand Champion 3 Div 1-4
  • Super Sonic Legend (Max)
  • Ranks.jpeg

A lot to take in, I know. But this is the thing you say when someone asks you, “What rank are you?”

The Pros

Now the juicy stuff, the actual Esports. Rocket League has had some form of Esport since the first year it came out (mid-2015) and has had many graphics, mechanic, and community changes. This includes changes to the pros, and their level of skill compared to the “Average Joe” Over time the number of pros has increased, and with that, it brought more and more teams.

Collegiate Football bowl games arriving soon, so who is playing where?

Collegiate Football bowl games arriving soon, so who is playing where?

Mid-Season Overview

Collegiate Football bowl games are arriving soon, so who’s playing where is a question we ask ourselves every year. With teams such as Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, and Oklahoma all looking like they are playoff contenders, who will make it to the grand stage?

Season Schedule

A team’s schedule is always planned out a few years in advance, and with the rankings constantly changing, who knows as of right now who will make it, but you can use the team’s remaining schedule, we can decide the toughness, and chances of making it to big bowl games.

The top teams in the predictions for a playoff spot are:

  1. Georgia
  2. Alabama
  3. Oregon
  4. Ohio State

New Year’s Six Bowl (NY6)

For right now, these are all predictions and can change easily over time with wins and losses. But there are many other teams available for New-Years-6 bowls, and that means that some real competition is up. For instance, BYU, a possible NY6 bowl contender. Although slim, BYU’s chances of making it to an NY6 bowl are still possible. BYU needs to win the rest of their games, including GASU, an 87% win. The week after that, USC, the only team BYU should have any worries about, but should still make it past and make it to a big(ish) bowl. But looking at all of this, there is almost no chance that BYU will even get CLOSE to making it to the playoffs.

The NY6 games are the biggest college football games of the year, these six bowl games include:

Rose Bowl — Big Ten #1 vs. Pac-12 #1 (Michigan State VS Oregon)

Sugar Bowl — SEC #1 vs. Big 12 #1 (Alabama VS Oklahoma State)

Orange Bowl — ACC #1 vs. SEC #2, Big Ten #2, or Notre Dame (Georgia VS Cincinnati)

Cotton Bowl — at-large or “Group of Five” (committee selection) (Oklahoma vs Ohio State)

Fiesta Bowl — at-large or “Group of Five” (committee selection) (Texas A&M VS Notre Dame)

Peach Bowl — at-large or “Group of Five” (committee selection) (Wake Forest VS Michigan)

Other Bowl Games

Even though most everyone focuses on those big 6 games, there are still many other bowl games to be played.

  • Texas Bowl (Jahttps://athlonsports.com/college-football/bowl-projections-2021n. 4) Tie-In: Big 12 vs. SEC Projection: Texas vs. Auburn.

As said before, these are all just predictions, but anything could happen in these last 3 weeks of football, and we could see a new contender in the mix.

Keyboards/Keyboard Accessories; Which Ones The Nicest?

Keyboards/Keyboard Accessories; Which Ones The Nicest?

If you play video games, or just enjoy typing, you may have looked into the mechanical keyboard world. Mechanical keyboards are much different compared to the membrane. Membrane keyboards have a rubber dome so that when you press down on the keycap, it has a “Squishy” feel to it. On the other hand, mechanical keyboards have what’s called a “switch”. The keycap sits on top of said switch and when pressed down, the keycap gives you a smooth, even, LINEAR feel, or a clicky, bumpy, TACTILE feel. Mechanical keyboards have more parts than just that, such as a frame, a plate, keycaps, a PCB, and sometimes even RGB. They all come in different feels and qualities, so essentially, let’s see which ones are the best.

Budget Stock Boards

Now keyboards can be pretty expensive, for instance, if you look over at most any “custom” mechanical keyboard, they normally don’t go below $200. So now you waltz on over to amazon/youtube to find the BEST budget keyboard <$100. This is always a tough decision, and which ones are best for what? Do you want Good Stabs, switches, RGB, or Keycaps? It’s all up to what you want to sacrifice.

Rk61/Rk68 <$60

These two keyboards are some of the most popular keyboards in all of the “Budget” keyboard world. These keyboards have some of the greatest RGB on a “gamer” keyboard. The RK61 is a 60%, Hot-Swappable mechanical keyboard. The RK68 is a Hot-Swappable 65% mechanical keyboard. Both of these keyboards come in either red, blue, or brown Gateron switches. Amazon Link for the RK68: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FG3WCX8/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_NFJJ486022Y9JBHZX5QB

EPOMAKER EP84 75%

The Epomaker is on the pricier side of the keyboard world. For stock, the total comes out to around $85 on amazon. This keyboard includes a Hot-Swappable PCB, Function keys, and arrow keys. The keyboard can come with many different types of Gateron switches. Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DKSSL82/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_0ZGYAECY4Y3WX8JA1MQR?psc=1

There are many different types of budget keyboards, but these are probably some of the most popular ones, and the highest quality unmodded. If you want to, modding the keyboard is ridiculously easy on both.

Switches

Mechanical keyboards have what’s called a “switch”. The keycap sits on top of said switch and when pressed down, the keycap gives you a smooth, even, LINEAR feel, or a clicky, bumpy, TACTILE feel. There are many different brands such as Gateron, Cherry, Otemu, and many others.

These all include different “colors” which define what kind of switch you are buying. Blue: clicky, loud, tactile. Brown: tactile, slightly clicky. Red: Linear, smooth, a bit loud. Black: heavy, linear, THOCC. Yellow: Linear, FAST, lighter. Silver: very similar to yellow. There are many more different types of switches, but those 6 are the main money makers and the most popular.

Layout/Plate

Now, if you want a good keyboard you need to have a good plate/board itself. But it all mainly comes down to what you want on your keyboard. Plastic has a cheaper, more hollow feel, while metal has a deep, solid feel. The main downside to metal is that it is more expensive, and is harder to come by. But if you are serious about keyboards, go for a metal base.

The plate of the board is the piece between the keycaps, and the PCB, and it is USUALLY a thinner metal and has lots of variants. The only plastic plates you are going to come across are in cheap, $30 boards.

The layout of the board is very important, do you want a full size, or a small, compact 60%? The sheer amount of layouts is insane.

There are 100% (Full)

TKL, (minus the number pad)

75% (A much more compact version of the TKL)

65% (Minus the function keys on a 75%)

60% (Minus the arrow keys from the 65%)

Customizations/Keycaps

Keyboards are MADE to be modded (at least most of them) and mods can get complicated and sometimes even expensive. And keycaps are one of the most popular mods, and both are very important to make the keyboards look/sound their best.

Customizations

Customizations/mods are the only way to make your keyboard sound great.

The first mod is the tape mod, you can take apart your keyboard, then pull out the PCB. Next, take your scotch tape, and cover the entire bottom of the PCB.

Next, the Foam mod/Dampen mod. This mod includes the same steps as the first mod, except the tape of course. You then take pillow foam, memory foam, or packing foam and STUFF the bottom of your keyboard.

Now, the band-aid mod. The band-aid mod just includes removing the switch, then the stabilizer. After that, take a band-aid and cut a small piece off. Take that piece and put it over/under the slot of where that stab was, and put that stab back on.

Finally, lube mod. Lubing the stabilizers/switches is a painstaking process that can take HOURS to complete. First, take all the switches out of the keyboard, then the stabs. Then get a switch piece removal, and buy some keyboard lubricant. After all of this, you need to watch a video on how to do this, and you are on your way.

Keycaps

Keycaps are the main attraction of the keyboard itself because it just sits on top and is the only visible object on the keyboard. Keycaps are all about the layout you want, and make sure you are getting the right set! Keycaps have different kinds of plastic that you can buy, PBT, and ABS are the main types. PBT is the more expensive, and higher quality one.

Keycaps can come in different colors and have different purposes. Like HyperX PBT pudding keycaps, made for Gamer RGB. or you just want some nice looking colors, on some nice feeling keycaps.

Overall

Keyboards overall can get pretty expensive, and you always need to find the right one for your preference. You MUST keep all of these factors into play when you get your first mechanical/custom keyboard.

History Of LaVell Edwards Stadium

History Of LaVell Edwards Stadium

LaVell Edwards Stadium is the pinnacle of BYU athletics, and maybe even Provo. LaVell Edwards Stadium has gone through ups and downs, building changes, and even name changes.

1960’s

LaVell Edwards Stadium, formerly known as Cougar Stadium, was built/opened on October 2nd, 1964. The stadium was a massive upgrade from the small, 5,000 seat stadium with the same name, to a 28,000 seat stadium. Cougar stadium was soon upgraded to be able to hold 35,000 spectators, then soon changed up to 45,000 and was stuck at that number for many years. Including the football field, a track surrounding the field was later removed.

1970’s

In the stadium itself, not much happened to the seating amount, look, or name. The only main change was the Cougars’ team itself who only got better in the standings.

1980’s

In the ’80s, the changes to the stadium were much more impactful than any other decade, except for the upgrade to the new stadium. In 82’ The stadium went under MANY wanted, and big changes such as adding stands to the north and south end zones, lowering the field eight feet, and removing the track surrounding the field (home to the 1967 and 1975 NCAA Track and Field Championships). The stadium expansion increased the seating amount to over 65,000. The crowd of 64,253 that gathered for BYU’s first game in the expanded stadium on September 25, 1982, was reported at the time as “the largest gathering ever in Utah history.” Not to mention the cougar’s national championship win, and winning the first Holiday Bowl.

1990’s

The Cougars “Cougar Stadium” went through no changes, similar to the 70’s decade.

2000s-2020s

The stadium was renamed with the retirement of BYU LEGENDARY head football coach LaVell Edwards after the 2000 season. In 2003, BYU added a luxury “Club Seating” area to the east stands, taking the capacity of Edwards Stadium to 64,045. In 2010 and 2011 BYU created additional wheelchair access inside the stadium, which reduced the overall capacity to 63,725 in 2010 and 63,470 in 2011.

The Cougars Field

The field itself is one of the most iconic pieces of BYU history. The field held miracles, comebacks, fans rushing the field, and upsets. The field itself is well kept and is covered with a sand-based natural turf capable of draining eight inches of rain per hour. The well-kept grass field is consistently deemed one of the best in the country and constantly had a nice paint job. The field has gone through a few color and design changes but has stayed mostly static throughout its history.

Extra Additions

The Stadium has had many extra little additions such as the Cougar room and the Video Scoreboard

The Cougar Club Room, which is a common meeting place for Cougar Club members, is located in LaVell Edwards Stadium, near the northwest side of the stadium, The room is used for pre and post-game activities as well as for meetings and banquets during the year.

The video board has gone through 3 major changes, The introduction of the scoreboard, the revamp in 2012, and a new remodel in 2021 which is still being worked on. The two scoreboards are located along the north and south endzones, with thinner, and longer video boards along the east, north, and south sides.

The Press Box

The LaVell Edwards Stadium press box has been named the “Provo Marriott” by the media who cover BYU football. Rising over 10 stories high, the four-level press box is located on the west side of the stadium and runs the entire length of the stands. The little area is visible from inside, and outside the stadium.

In 1982, 1988, and 1997 the Football Writers Association of America cited BYU for its “outstanding press box working area.”

Levels one and two of the press box contain 42 private lodges, each one equipped with 12 padded chairs, a television, radio, telephone, refrigerator, sink, and game programs. The BYU President’s Box, which includes 163 padded chairs, five television sets, and a buffet area, is also located on the first floor.

Level three is reserved for the print and electronic media along with all the game operators. The statistics, public address, sound, and scoreboard controls are all located on the third level. Approximately 300 people work on the third level during games. Level four is primarily used for television game filming.

Other Events

Other than the BYU football games held there, LaVell Edwards Stadium is occasionally home to the “Stadium Of Fire” a fourth of July event.

BYU’s 6-2 Start, Season looking good

BYU’s 6-2 Start, Season looking good

BYU has had so much momentum walking into the first game of the 2021/2022 season. Coming off of an 11-1 season with the beloved Zach Wilson, the team knew they had to keep up the play, and sure enough, they put up a show.

First Few Games

BYU vs. ARIZONA

Walking into Agilent Stadium on Sep. 4, 2021, the crowds were energetic. BYU and Arizona faced off against each other in Allegiant Stadium, for the Las Vegas kickoff classic. On the tickets, the game was an Arizona home game, but according to the crowds, it looked more like a BYU home game. (And Arizona University is closer, by a whole hour!) The ratio of BYU fans to Arizona fans in the stands was most likely 7-1. 7/9 of the crowd was BYU, and that most likely helped them into this season opener.

The game started off slow, with 0 points being scored in the first quarter, and not much happening. But the game had only just begun, and some scoring started to commence. BYU out-scored a quick 14-3 second quarter, and all the momentum was on BYU going into the second half. The third quarter was an Arizona show, scoring 10 points to BYU’s 7, putting the scoreboard to 21-13. The fourth quarter was hectic, with the ball just going back and forth and not much scoring was actually happening. A field goal by Arizona and BYU sent Arizona home, empty-handed, and the final score 24-16, BYU.

Arizona’s Quarter-Back, Gunner Cruz, led both teams in passing yards, with 336 to Jaren Halls (BYU) 198. Tyler Allgeier led both teams in rushing, running in a solid 94 yards, and A touchdown.

BYU vs. UTAH

Ah yes, the BYU vs. Utah rivalry game. Every time these two teams face-off, it’s the game of the day. LaVell Edwards Stadium was ROCKING on 9/11, and so much respect was sent to the fallen soldiers of the worst day in Manhattan. The BYU cougars had not beaten Utah in 9 whole years, and it was time.

The game itself started off almost just as slow as the Arizona game with BYU posting a small, but good 3-0 lead on Utah out of the first quarter. Utah’s offense already had 2 turnovers in a matter of 3 possessions. The second quarter just gave BYU more and more momentum as it went on, and BYU posted a strong 13-7 outscore, and the score being 16-7 at halftime. The second half brought more momentum, and BYU, having only one touchdown, had the Utes down 23-7 ending the third quarter. The fourth quarter was the Utes game, and all that momentum that BYU had built up, was crushed. A quick 10 points from Utah put the game at 23- 17, with just a few minutes remaining. BYU marched down the field, nearly scoring a touchdown, but got held to a field goal. That kicker, Jake Oldroyd DRILLED right down the middle and held the lead to 9. Utah needed to take the ball all the way down the field, score, then score again after receiving an onsides kick. But BYU didn’t even give them a chance, and stopped the Utes on fourth down, securing the victory for BYU for the first time in 9 games.

BYU’s Jaren Hall barely led both teams in passing yards, posting in 149, just two ahead of Utah’s Charlie Brewer. The Utes Running back, Micha Bernard, rushed an amazing 146 yards, easily beating out Tyler Allgeier.

BYU vs. ARIZONA STATE

LaVell Edwards Stadium and the Cougars were hoping for a win and having two consecutive wins against Ap-Ranked teams for the first time in franchise history. It was just bound to happen.

The game started off quick with a startling fumble from Arizona State on the kickoff return, that BYU immediately scored off of it with a strong Tyler Allgeier. But the fame didn’t last long, and with a perfect throw to Andre Johnson, from Arizona State’s QB, Jayden Daniels for a 58-yard reception. Arizona State quickly followed with a rushing touchdown and tied the game up only 3:50 into the game. The rest of the first quarter was slow, and not much happened. The second quarter started, and Arizona State was just ramming their way down the field. But a great defended pass and big hit lead to a BYU interception. The game was already starting to look like the Utah game with 2 turnovers already on ASU. The cougars quickly get the ball back and march down, with a quick play from their own 14 to their own 45. Another great pass and a trick play double pitch lead to a BYU 34 yard Touchdown reception. After a 3-and-out on ASU’s possession, it led to a 40 yard Gunner Romney reception. Shortly after, BYU’s Jaren Hall throws a perfect 15-yard Touchdown reception by Isaac Rex with 4:40 left on the clock. The rest of the quarter was a cougars interception, but no luck on the next possession with Jaren Hall throwing an interception with 16 seconds left. The Cougars walked into the half up 21-7.

Starting the second half, a quick BYU 3-and-out led to an ASU touchdown only 5 minutes into the half, leaving the score at 21-14. Another BYU punt later, The Sun devils march their way down the field, making people miss, and scoring a solid field goal making the score now 21-17 BYU cougars still up. The cougars make their way down the field and throw an interception on the 25-yard line. But the hustle didn’t stop, and BYU’s Tyler Allgeier chased down the runner and popped the ball out and BYU recovered the ball on their own 13. Two turnovers in one play, and basically a loss of 70 for BYU. BYU with the ball back marched back down the field, but a sack on 3rd down led to a BYU punt inside the 3. ASU started their diver and got immediately stopped, causing a punt. BYU marches back down the field and brings it down to the 5, but Jaren Hall goes down, and Baylor Romney steps in. The ball snapped and Balor slips, recovers, and throws a dime to Tight End-Issac Rex for a BYU touchdown. This basically seals the game, and BYU wins 27-17.

ASU’s QB Jayden Daniels led both teams in yards, stacking in 265 to BYU’s Jaren Hall’s 214.

Players to watch for

Tackle Football vs. Flag Football, Which One Is Better Among Youth?

Tackle Football vs. Flag Football, Which One Is Better Among Youth?

Tackle Football, or Flag? Some kids may be asking themselves this question, to see if they want to play it safe, or to go right into the big boy league. This is an opinion

There are pros and cons, ups and downs, and parents worrying about their kids, so here are a few.

Tackle Football

Tackle football is one of the more popular sports among younger children along with soccer and basketball. Tackle football is a contact sport that includes tackling (Durr), running, passing, and a lot of shoving. If you want to play in a league, or not get injured, you play in heavy pads. These include a helmet, shoulder pads, and knee pads (And a cup if you want).

Pros to Tackle include:

Much more exercise is included when getting ready for games, players might even be worked so hard they will throw up. but as they say, no pain, no gain

Players can just run over other players, and boy is it exhilarating. If you can take a handoff, and run down the field after trucking someone to the ground, it is just pure hype. Or on the other side of the ball, if someone else takes the handoff and you break through the line, and boom trucked, fumble, and scoop and score.

It’s much more of a team game, let me explain. Let’s say in basketball, you miss 10 shots in a row, not good for your team. But as long as you are not playing quarterback, there is much more margin of error.

There is usually a position for everyone. If you are on the bigger side, Defensive Tackle, or a Linemen on Defence, OR offense. Or if you are fast and skinny, wide receiver, or safety, or even a cornerback. There are so many areas for everyone to be able to get playtime.

Cons to Tackle Football

The game is much more dangerous compared to most any other sport. Many bruises can occur and even Broken bones. There are season-ending injuries, and concussions or players are out for only the next game or two.

You have to work your butt OFF to get a starting position. Players can’t expect to walk into the 9th-grade team and immediately get starting time, or even playing time at all. If you don’t prove to your coach that you can work to your limits, no luck with that buddy.

Coaches aren’t all baby-on players, players can’t make mistakes or they can get yelled at by the said coach.

Flag Football

Flag Football is the equivalent of a little sister that can’t be touched or else she will cry. Tackle football is that tough, older brother that will beat anyone up for you. Flag football has many different rules, but at the same time many similarities, still sticking with the ¨Football¨ area of the game.

Pros to Flag Football

Fewer injuries will occur to players due to minimal contact.

Players pull flags from off of the waist of the ball carrier and can cause contact to the other player.

Everyone gets playing time, with 0 ¨Starters¨ actually on the team.

There isn’t a ¨Draft¨ and players can just choose what team they are on.

It’s league play, not competitive club play unless you want to.

Cons To Flag Football

Flag Football has no contact rules, which means players can tackle others or hit them.

Players can’t run up the middle in some leagues, which causes a lot of penalties.

Players can’t ¨Stiff-Arm¨ other defenders or guard the player’s flags. This will result in a flag penalty.

Games are played on an 80-yard field, instead of a full 100-yard field.

Games are much shorter with the games lasting almost an hour including stops and halftime.

Most good players have moved to tackle football, so there’s a chance of playing with a below-average team.

There is minimal exercise compared to Tackle football, not as much running, or easier practices.

If we are being completely honest, it all comes down to how much you want to work, or how hard you want to play, etc. most of these decisions come down to opinion, but if players want to have a chance at playing high school or even Collegiate football, go for tackle football at a younger age.

Covid-19 Safety And Tips

Covid-19 Safety And Tips

Stay Safe Out There

This is just another article telling you how to stay safe from the coronavirus. The only reason I need to write this is that people are not listening to the guidelines. I mean this is just getting ridiculous, look how many cases Utah is getting, or even the entire USA! Well, let’s take a look.

Utah’s cases

Let’s look at the average Covid cases for Utah this month. According to Google, we got around 50k cases! That’s crazy, we are only just above halfway through the month! If we do the math, it means….cary the one, add two…..that’s 2,500 per day. Jeez laweez…. Alright, let’s get into this.

How to Stay Safe From Covid

Alright, first of all, MASKS! The Gov. has been asking for people to wear masks for so long now, and most of the population are listening, but there are THOSE people that don’t like them. (looking at you, Karens)

Second of all, CONSTANTLY wash your hands. What I mean by that is whenever you have touched something someone else has, use hand sanitizer or wash your hands to get those nasties off. Also sneeze or cough into your elbow, not your hand. And I’ve seen this before, don’t sneeze into OTHER people’s arms. Don’t be idiotic and stupid with your decisions.

Next, we need to go over gatherings, specifically FAMILY gatherings. Some people think that It’s my family, I won’t get it. Nope nope nope. Please do not think this, and for this thanksgiving, try to wear masks if you are not eating. And if you can, please try to socially distance yourself from others.

From experience, It does matter if you have a mask on or not, when li’l ol’ me was sitting on the couch at my house, down at my cousins, they were all exposed to covid. Luckily, only one person got it and everything was all good after that. They were lucky, but I’ve got to say that this does not mean you can’t get it from your family members.

Lastly, you might want to avoid touching your mouth and eyes. Why? Well, you mostly will get the virus on your hands and that’s not all bad. But then you touch your eyes and mouth, then the virus sinks in and boom, your entire family has it.

When is it ok to put up your Christmas decorations?

When is it ok to put up your Christmas decorations?

When is it ok to put up your Christmas decorations? That’s a question quite a lot of people ask. But, like, actually, when is it ok? This writer says it’s good most of the time.

So what do other people say? Let’s see.

(Information of https://hip2save.com/tips/when-to-put-up-christmas-decorations-debate/)These are the thoughts of some people on the internet:

“Our family tradition to decorate for Christmas is on Black Friday. However, last year we did decorate a little earlier because of our schedules. I love Christmas but can’t eat Thanksgiving dinner with trees lit up. LOL!” – Alana

Fair enough, I mean, that’s about when my family puts up ours so I approve.

“I try to put up the tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then start decorating everything else that week, but I don’t judge people who decorate even earlier! I love Christmas!” – Jessica

Same as the last one, I approve of this.

“I prefer to wait until December to put up our tree as I feel like 3 weeks with the tree up is plenty of time! I hate to admit it, but I’ve been known to take down our tree on the evening of 12/25! HAHA! I’m always ready to get the house back to its normal non-tree state as soon as Christmas is over.” – Bryn

Ok, pretty good. I would approve of this, but I feel you need to have the Christmas tree up for at least another three days after Christmas.

Now something from me, I say that when it turns November, it’s all good. My friends say once Thanksgiving is over OR Black Friday is over, then you can put the decorations. Hehe, I already have my Christmas trees up in my room! And I want to go outside and put up ALL the Christmas lights. Then my friends will think I’m just weird like they always do. Hehe.

Let’s find some more opinions online

“Straight after Halloween
For some, Christmas decorations go up as soon as Halloween ends on 31st October, and so Christmas lovers embrace 1st November as the start of the festive season and begin decorating their home at this time.”

WOW, this was straight off of google, and wow, someone like the holiday season. Hehe

Based on the information I found off the internet, you should put up your decorations around the middle of November and get into the Christmas spirit after thanksgiving. Happy Holidays!

The Simpsons begin season 32, and a Halloween special is airing on Sunday!

The Simpsons begin season 32, and a Halloween special is airing on Sunday!

The Simpsons begin season 32!

We have all heard of the Simpsons, at least once in our lives on the internet. The iconic animated show will be aired again for season 32 on September 27, 2020. Since it’s already been a couple of weeks since the show started season 32, the Fox network has already aired 5 episodes.

Long time Simpsons fans will know that every season, the Halloween special airs, and this year’s episode lands on NOV 1, 2020 so in just a few days right AFTER Halloween, yes, After. Most of America will be getting ready for Christmas! Hehe. Speaking of Christmas episodes, the Simpsons will also have a Christmas special around Christmas time this year.

This year’s special will include some good sounding segments. (as always) If you did not know, the Halloween specials are split into three parts, so that makes three terrifying stories in one 20 minute episode.

Anyways, here are some of the segments to look for this Halloween:

It includes a frightening look at the 2020 election, parodies of Pixar and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and a ninth birthday, Lisa just can’t get over.

The Iconic episodes

With the Simpsons hitting there 31st season, it’s only fair that we name some of the best episodes in this reporters opinion : (Top 3)

  1. Who Shot Mr. Burns? Parts 1 & 2 (season 6 & 7)

This episode is where Mr. Burns pisses everyone off in town, especially when he launches a sun-blocking device in the town, forcing people to use electricity powered by his plant. Everyone’s a suspect from Moe to Smithers to Homer, but they never expected Maggie of all people to have done the deed.

  1. Homer’s Enemy (season 8)

Probably the darkest ever Simpsons episode. The power plant’s latest employee, Frank Grimes, becomes increasingly angry with an oblivious Homer for his lazy behavior yet comfortable existence. Soon after declaring himself Homer’s enemy, he is electrocuted to death while temporarily going insane and mocking Homer. Even then, Homer falls asleep at his funeral. It might not be the last we see of Grimey, though…

  1. Mr. Plow (Season 4)

Admit it, you can sing the entire “Mr. Plow” jingle, can’t you? This episode painted Barney as the villain for once, as he quickly put Homer out of business after stealing his idea for plowing people’s driveways. After a fierce back-and-forth, things quickly go back to normal, but Homer will always have that “special” Mr. Plow jacket for Marge.

NBA potentially will allow fans into stands next season

NBA potentially will allow fans into stands next season
  • NBA potentially will allow fans into stands next season

Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, will potentially let fans into the stands next season. ¨I think we all know nothing has changed in this virus, as far as I know. I think the majority of states right now cases are ticking back up again.¨

With the Orlando bubble working well, (zero cases ¨among the players¨) the NBA will try to make it so that the Stands will be filled with fans instead of screens. But, the thing is, when are they going to start next season? When WILL the fans be back? What happens with the salary cap? When does free agency begin? When will training camps start? These questions have been among us all lately. We as the fans and coaches/ players are hoping for an answer next year.

Silver addressed many of those questions and had not many solid and/or confident answers.

And with the NFL and MLB starting up, playing in their home stadiums, and having little-to-no fans in the stands, the NBA is hoping to follow. But, there is indeed some discussion of another bubble. “I mean, I’m hoping, ideally we would not return to a bubble environment, but it’s something we’re gonna have to continue looking at,” Silver said, But I guess we have to go with whatever the world decides throws at us.

That means there is a lot to work out from figuring out a schedule to figuring out how to move forward with a revised collective bargaining agreement. If the league goes off of revenue to determine the salary cap, as normal, the cap and the luxury tax will plummet. That would leave teams without an avenue to improve, put some clubs in financial stress, and leave players who are entering free agency completely out of luck. That would put them hoping for a team in the next, NEXT season. But silver made it clear that he would not allow that.

¨Not only that the league would be crazy, a third of the NBA will be free agents next season which would mean enormous equity because there would be no room for players, because of the salary cap.¨ This would be devastating because the fans would not be there, teams would be in half and a ton of lost fans.

But there still is hope! The NFL and some MLS teams will let a limited number of fans in, so Silver didn’t rule out fans returning to NBA arenas when the new season begins, whenever that will be. Silver stated that there is almost zero chance of there being any sort of vaccine next year, so I do not see that we will be able to let fans back into games.

“I sense that with rapid testing, it may not be that we’ll have 19,000 people in the building, we’ll see. But that with appropriate protocols in terms of distancing, and with advanced testing that you will be able to bring fans back into arenas.” Said Silver.
So you may be able to see your favorite player in person next year, but as this year has gone, you never know.
