Motorsport And Racing

Motorsport and racing

Motor sports have been around for a long time and started basically when vehicles were made. Many vehicle companies try to make the fastest vehicle and beat other companies’ records while others try to win racing sometimes they do both though. Not just cars are a part of Motorsports motorcycle, dirt bikes, airplanes, trucks, and boats, some common some not you may never have even thought boat racing was a thing!

Car Motorsport (Track)

Car Motorsport is the most common and is very popular. It includes track racing, rallying, drag racing, and street/road racing. It all started when cars were made and people modified them to go faster. A lot of people tried to test cars but have crashed and died. One of the most popular races is the 24 hours of Le Mans in Italy. They even made a movie about it called ‘Ford v Ferrari’ and it was pretty popular. Sometimes the cars have to do timed races which is where one car at a time goes on a track and they see who gets the fastest time. In Nascar racing, they mostly have cars go in a big oval shaped track. In F1 racing, they usually do it in all places around the world and they use normal streets and use them as tracks after they block them off.

 Car Motorsport (Rallying)

Many people are also familiar with rallying, which is dirt racing. Many people use small but fast cars made to work on the dirt without slipping or crashing (even though sometimes they do). The most popular rally race in history is Panzer Platte, Rally Deutschland. Rallying is also very dangerous and hard but they still try to make the cars as safe but fast and good as possible. Rallying is also a pretty old Motorsport and has been around for a pretty long time.

Motorcycle Motorsport (Track)

The motorcycle was made in 1885 one of the most popular is Harley Davidson. The first of the races started in 1903 and became very popular. Motorcycle racing is also extremely dangerous and has killed many racers. Motorcycles are also fast and can corner very well. The most famous motorcycle race is the Isle of man TT.

Dirt Bike racing (Dirt)

Dirt bikes are motorcycles but made for dirt racing or just messing around but, dirt bike racing can also be dangerous. Some people are super good at riding dirt bikes and they can do tricks on them, those people most likely go to the X-games.

Baja racing (Dirt)

Baja racing is big but light and fast trucks (or buggies) that race in the dirt. Baja racing is pretty safe because the trucks have roll cages (metal frame inside the truck) in them to keep the driver safe if they flip or roll. Baja racing started in 1967 and is still a popular Motorsport and the biggest event for it is the Baja 1000.

Plane racing (Air)

Plane racing mostly consists of planes with propellers but are made to go fast. In plane racing they either have checkpoints that each plane has to go through (one at a time) and they see who can go the fastest, or they have long distance racing where the planes need to go from point A to point B.

Boat racing (Water)

Boat racing is not a very popular sport a lot of people don’t know or care about, but it still can be an interesting Motorsport. The boats are either small and fast or big and fast. Usually the boats have to complete laps around a lake, ocean, or reservoir.

Rocket League: The Ultimate E-sport

Rocket League: The Ultimate E-sport

Rocket League

If someone mentions to you the name “Rocket League”, unless you have heard of the game, you will most likely think it’s a game that has “rockets” and it’s some sort of league. Nope, not even close.

Rocket League is a game that essentially could be named “car soccer”, let me explain. “Car soccer” is essentially a game where you are placed in the third-person view of a car. This car can do many things your normal car can’t such as; (double) jumping, flipping, boosting, and flying in the air.

The game arrived in stores for $20 in mid-2015 and was a small game. A sequel to the infamous game, with the infamous name, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. or SARPBC, try pronouncing that.

The entire game was placed inside a boxed-off stadium and had little “egg” people in the stands cheering and bouncing up and down. Customizable cars and goal explosions are also an option. These customizable items have different rarities, starting from uncommon, then going to rare, very rare, import, exotic, and finally, black market. The game’s currency is called “credits” and is $1 for 100 credits.

The game just recently went out in stores as “Free To Play” and that brought an UNHEARD amount of players, sometimes having over 1 million players online at a time! Since then the game has declined in popularity, but still racks in more players a day than before the game went free to play.

Mechanics

The game has many mechanics that involve such things as I mentioned before. The basics of these mechanics are:

  •  Ariels, hitting the ball while in the air
  •  Wave-dashes, front flipping before you hit the ground to propel yourself forward
  • Double taps, hitting the ball into the back wall of the opponents net
  • Air dribble, dribbling the ball in the air
  • Dribbles, carrying the ball on top of your car without it touching the ground
  • Flicks, flicking the ball while dribbling.

Now, these are the bare bones, almost anyone can do these things mechanics. Some of these are harder than others, but most anyone above the rank of platinum can do ALL (or should be able to).

Speaking of ranks, in the competitive playlist, depending on how good you are, the game will give you a rank. Every win you get, you get a certain amount of MMR (MatchMaking Rank). The higher in the ranks you go, the harder it gets, or longer it takes to get to that next rank. Ranks have levels to them, there is division 1-4, and different levels for the actual name of the rank.

Rankings (From worst to best)

  • Bronze 1 Division 1-4
  • Bronze 2 Division 1-4
  • Bronze 3 Division 1-4
  • Silver 1 Div 1-4
  • Silver 2 Div 1-4
  • Silver 3 Div 1-4
  • Platinum 1 Div 1-4
  • Platinum 2 Div 1-4
  • Platinum 3 Div 1-4
  • Diamond 1 Div 1-4
  • Diamond 2 Div 1-4
  • Diamond 3 Div 1-4
  • Champion 1 Div 1-4
  • Champion 2 Div 1-4
  • Champion 3 Div 1-4
  • Grand Champion 1 Div 1-4
  • Grand Champion 2 Div 1-4
  • Grand Champion 3 Div 1-4
  • Super Sonic Legend (Max)
  • Ranks.jpeg

A lot to take in, I know. But this is the thing you say when someone asks you, “What rank are you?”

The Pros

Now the juicy stuff, the actual Esports. Rocket League has had some form of Esport since the first year it came out (mid-2015) and has had many graphics, mechanic, and community changes. This includes changes to the pros, and their level of skill compared to the “Average Joe” Over time the number of pros has increased, and with that, it brought more and more teams.

The First Car

Cars are used in your everyday lives if you have a license. You drive it to work, you take your friends and kids in it. How did these motorized vehicles come to life? It all starts with the very first car created and patented by karl benz.

Creator

Karl Benz was born on November 25, 1844, and died on April 4, 1929, and was the creator of the first gasoline automobile. He grew up in poverty but his mother gave him a good education. He pursued locomotive engineering following in his father’s footsteps. He studied mechanical engineering and once out of school got many jobs as a trainee. This is where he takes the rest of his life as an engineer.

Car

In 1833 he founded Benz and Company to produce engines. He started designing a motor carriage based on someone else’s patent. In 1855 the car was driven for the first time. It achieved eight miles per hour during the test drive. After receiving his patent for his gas-powered automobile he began selling it to the public in 1886. His wife promoted it even by taking it on a 66-mile trip. In 1893 there were 1,200 of these cars produced. It became the world’s first inexpensive mass-produced car.

This is considered the first car even though cars came before it. It gets this title because it’s the first gasoline car. Even though it’s not as fast as cars today it is the start of things to come.
