Serial Killers

Serial Killers

Ted Bundy, a serial killer was one of the most notorious killers in all the world. He admitted he killed 36 women but the police believe he killed many more. The way his mind worked and all serial killers minds work is abnormal and terrible. He was killed on January, 4, 1946 but although he was killed the scars of his horrifying past will always be with us.

The Mind

The mind of a serial killer is very odd and peculiar. The way they think is different from anything else that you have ever heard of. The way their minds develop into a serial killer has a lot to do with their childhood.

One sign is when the child wants to harm or does harm small animals because they are not trying to harm the animal and are more curious what the animal will do.

Another sign is head trauma. A lot of serial killers suffer from head trauma at a young age and it makes it so the child does not have empathy later in life.

Last one is that they see a lot of extreme violence at a young age and can see violence as a good way and reasonable way to resolve problems. All of these things can contribute to a child growing up to be a serial killer.

Early Life

One of the things Bundy experienced as a young boy was his mother got pregnant with him unmarried and the biological father of Ted Bundy was never known. Bundy was the mother’s secret shame and was delivered to a home of unwed mothers and then later Bundy’s mother got him and took him to her parents house and they adopted Bundy and he was raised that his mother was his sister and that his grandmother and grandfather were his parents. Later his biological mother married and he took the name Bundy from her husband. From all sides he had a content working class family growing up. He showed a very odd fascination with knives at the age three and he did well in school but not with the people around him. He was a rather strange child with a normal childhood.

The Monster He Was

Bundy was a smart person with an IQ of 136 and attended the University of Washington and there he fell in love with a girl and she had all the things he wanted including money and class but devastated by their break up a lot of the young women he killed later on resembled his old college girlfriend. Bundy admitted to killing 36 women but the FBI believes that he killed many more.

Catching Bundy

They caught Bundy in 1975 and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping a girl named Carol DaRonch. Bundy escaped two times while he was in prison. The first time was when he was going to his murder trail and he acted as his own lawyer and when they were traveling to the courthouse library and he jumped out the window of the vehicle and was caught eight days later. The second time Bundy made a hole in the ceiling of his cell and lost over 30 pounds to fit through the small hole. He had a 15 hour head start because the police did not notice he was gone until then. In the time he was gone he killed a 12 year old girl and 2 sorority girls. They caught him eventually and he was sentenced to death and was killed in Florida’s electric chair nicknamed “Old Sparky.” When he died the prison crowds cheered and even set off fireworks after Bundy’s execution.
