Harrowing 911 call released from Farmington hostage situation

On September 9, 2021, A 911 operator received a
disturbing call. The article says, “CLEARFIELD, Utah — Clearfield Police released body cameras and 911 calls to FOX 13 which show the hours leading up to Joseph Manhard allegedly holding a Davis County family hostage on Sept. 10. Manhard, 31, was killed by police while holding five people at gunpoint in their Farmington home. The recently-released media shows his own family was concerned for their safety the day before.”
Manhard’s brother was worried and concerned about what his brother would do so he called 911 and said, “I need the cops here ASAP. He has a firearm on him and he is armed. “ Manhard’s brother wanted the cops to come as fast as they could so that they could catch Manhard.

At 1:30 a.m Manhard’s brother called 911 and was concerned about what his brother did. He said that Manhard has kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and also stolen his ex – girlfriend’s car.

Manhard said, “He’s trying to get in.” Of his brother standing at his front door.

Responding Clearfield officers with assault rifles are seen clearing the house and the back shed on body cameras. “He probably drove by one of us,” an officer is heard saying.“

Twelve hours later Manhard was seen back at his brother’s house at 1:30 a.m on September 10, 2021.
“He’s walking around out front,” Manhard’s sister-in-law told dispatch.

The dispatch was on their way to catch Manhard; they wanted to catch him so that he wouldn’t cause danger to anyone else.

Ten minutes later another disturbing, scary call to 911 Utility Trailer Manufacturing. The caller said that they just had a lady show up at their front door. She was saying that her car was stolen and that she was shot. The caller saw that the lady had blood all over her body. The caller was concerned about the lady.

The police said that Manhard shot through the woman’s window when she refused to give Manhard her car. So he got really mad and shot through her window and stole her car and drove off.

The caller said that he was really worried about the lady and that he did not want to leave her side and that he didn’t know how badly she was injured. The caller said that the lady was hysterical. The caller also said that he just wanted to make sure that she didn’t bleed out all over him. The caller wanted help from someone he was concerned about and didn’t know what he’s going to do. He wanted to help the lady and keep an eye on her.

Manhard was on the loose committing more crimes. Manhard was accused of leading police on pursuit south on I-15 in his ex-girlfriend’s stolen car. A few minutes later, Tire spikes stopped his ex – girlfriend’s car. Manhard didn’t know what to do so he allegedly ran into a random Farmington neighborhood. He broke into a family’s house and held the family hostage. He held the family hostage for nine hours. Imagine if a random guy broke into your house and held you, hostage, for nine hours. That would be so scary! The police found Manhard and Manhard was shot and killed. The family was so grateful and happy that their lives were saved. The mom of the family who was held hostage posted on social media that she is thankful for law enforcement and credits them with saving their lives.
