No Olympics This Year?

According to https://www.cnet.com the Olympics may be postponed until 2021.

Large numbers of sports have been canceled due to the coronavirus. Like the NBA, Golf, and many more. But now the Olympics (supposed to be in Tokyo) might be pushed or canceled until 2021. While the Olympics have been canceled in the past because of world war I and world war II, they have never been postponed for another year. 

On Sunday, the Canadia Paralympic Committee said that their team was not going to head to Tokyo and wanted to postpone the Olympics until the following year. Then the Australian Olympic Committee quickly agreed with them and are now preparing the team for next year. Numerous teams have now said that they aren’t going to participate in the Olympics, so even if they had the Olympics, it wouldn’t be much of a competition. Unless you consider a small number of teams a competition. 

On Friday, the USA team (Swimming), and the national governing body for competitive swimming, sent a letter to the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee urging the group to postpone the Summer Games to 2021. The Olympics are huge. Both in number and how much money is put into the Olympics. More than 11,000 athletes from 206 nations had been hoping to compete in 339 events. Many thousands more were planning on helping to work in some of the games, from food vendors and souvenirs vendors to hotel clerks to trainers and coaches. Many thousands of people were possibly planning to attend the games. NBC had even been set to broadcast the games in the US, even offering a dedicated streaming Olympics package for those who wanted to know as much as possible, with no ads. And as evidence that everyone was excited, tickets were sold out last July, thousands were planning to attend. Whether they were coming across town or across the world. 

In 1916, the Summer Games were canceled due to World War I. The 1940-1944 Summer and Winter Games were canceled due to World War II. (Japan was the county affected too — the 1940 Games were supposed to be in Tokyo and Sapporo). But there were Olympics afterward. 

The next games after Tokyo are the 2022 Beijing Winter Games, followed by the 2024 Paris Summer Games, and then the 2026 Winter Games at Milan and Cortina, Italy.

Dog Or Bear?
When you get a dog, it should be a happy moment, and it was until they started noticing that something was wrong with it.
Su Yun was just like any other mom. She loved her kids, was hard-working, and her life was action-packed. She thought her hands were already full while raising her kids, family time, and spending time with her husband. Su Yun and her family were living in China, specifically in the southwest province of Kunming City. Her and her family’s lives were relatively normal until they were going to add another member to the family – a pet. They all thought that this would be fun, but little did they know that this decision would put their whole family on the spotlight.
With families with young children, life can get pretty hectic. So Su Yun started planning a vacation. She started packing bags, helping the kids, and buying the snack, but no matter how much planning, something was bound to happen. After months had passed, they were finally on vacation and excited for what was to come. Suddenly they came across a litter of puppies that were up for adoption. The kids started begging their mom, and as you can guess, Su said yes. The kids had been begging for a dog for years, and Su finally caved in. Soon enough she was going to find out that she had a lot more on her hands.
The man who had sold the puppy to her had told her that the dog might grow very large. But that didn’t stop her and her kids. The seller told her that this dog was a Tibetan Mastiff. And that this dog could weigh up to 180 pounds and stand up to two feet tall. That’s one big puppy. Su and her family decided to name their dog “ Little Black,” referring to his pitch-black fur, and partially irony because they knew that he was going to get so big. This name might have sounded weird in English, but in Chinese, it was super cute. But they didn’t know that in the future, this could get them into legal trouble.
The family continued to fall in love with Little Black, but once they got home, they needed to think of a way to raise it. But as time passed, they started to see some strange behaviors. One day when Su got home, she found Little Black in the kitchen, standing like a human! Sure it was normal for a dog to stand like this for a couple of seconds, but he had been standing there for probably about 5-10 minutes. He started having a tremendous appetite, which consisted of a full box of mixed fruits and about two packs of noodles. Probably any dog who ate that would have been sick and go see the vet, but not Little Black. This kept happening, and Little Black started having a bad temper, so Su Yun started to research and the results were terrifying.
After researching this behavior, the result was scary. She found out that she had been caring for a Black Bear! She had no idea what to do, she had been caring for a Black Bear for two years. Su found out that raising a black bear in china meant that they could go to jail, so she knew what to do. Without being able to transfer the bear to another home, she had to call the authorities. No one knew what would happen, but luckily she was able to avoid jail because she didn’t know it was a bear. But everything turned out okay. Su was able to avoid jail and Little Black was able to stay at a reserve. But no one had to worry anymore. Little Black’s backyard days were over.

 Some of these are for the young kids, some are for adults. We have been waiting for a while for these movies, I for one am pretty excited for some of these. If you have seen these movies or not they are hopefully going to be awesome.

Sonic The Hedgehog

 Most of the kids have probably been waiting for this if they saw the trailer. This movie is funny, has fun action scenes, and has a cool adventure story line to it. After the small-town police officer finds a small, fast, blue hedgehog in his garage, he decides that he must help this hedgehog find his prized possession and protect him from an evil genius who wants to conduct experiments on him.

Birds Of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn.

After watching Suicide Squad, you might just want to watch this. After Harley Quinn teams up with the one and only Joker, she leaves Joker’s team. She goes and joins the superhero’s Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from the evil crime lord.

 In Blumhouse’s new spin on fantasy island, the enigmatic Mr. Roake makes the dreams of his lucky guests come true. But as these dreams turn to nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery, to get out alive.

Call Of The Wild

 Adapted from the beloved literary classic, CALL OF THE WILD vividly brings the story of Buck to the screen.  In this movie, there are many surprises. Like if you have seen the trailer, news flash Steve Trevor is back. Also, did Wonder Woman get a new suit? Many websites say that this story line (plot) is unknown except that Wonder Woman squares off on an epic battle against Cheetah, who has superhuman strength and agility. So if you like DC superheroes or even mythology this show may be for you.

To All The Boys P.S I Still Love You

 This movie is a sequel to the movie “To all the boys I’ve loved before.” As her relationship with Peter grows, Laura Jean reunites with another recipient of one of her love letters that are mailed by her sister in the first movie. Laura Jean had just made her relationship with Peter from pretending to official. 

Black Widow 

 Yes, we finally have a Black Widow story. This movie takes place in-between the “Civil War,” and “Infinity War.” Almost no one has a prediction about what will happen in this movie, but I know that some people are very excited about this because David Harbour is in the show.

Most Haunted Places In Utah

#1. MCCUNE MANSION, SALT LAKE CITY

 Mccune Mansion was built in 1901 (It’s really old) It took about 3 years and 1 million dollars to build. Nowadays, they use this mysterious building for weddings and lots of other celebrations. There are said to be two different apparitions (ghosts) to be seen haunting the building. A man dressed in a black cape, and a young girl who looks about 10 years old, and she particularly likes it when there are weddings taking place. There is a picture in the mansion, and you can tell that she is a former resident. She is usually seen 

#2. MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE, VEYO

 Around 100 to 140 died that dreadful day. This area has now been said to be the most haunted place in Utah. Visitors tell tales of them hearing the cries of the victims being carried on in the wind, they then said that they felt terrible, as if a wave of sadness overcame them.

#3. ROCK CANYON, PROVO

 Rock Canyon is a great place to hike, for experienced climbers. There have been several deaths in this canyon due to climbers losing their grip. These deaths are thought to be the cause of some type of negative vibe and is considered haunting. The most common sighting is of a man, standing on one of the high cliffs. He is said to stare down at the living before running straight towards them. But when he is about to make contact with the ground, he vanishes into thin air.

#4. Old Tooele Hospital, Tooele

 In 1873, Tooele Hospital was built as a family home for Samuel F Lee. However, by 1913 it had been turned into a home for the elderly. These days it is unique in that half of the property is still a nursing home. The other half is the haunted attraction, this part of the property has also been considered as an asylum.

Many have reported seeing a little girl who goes by the name Jessica. There are other reports of Samuel F Lee, and an old patient named Wes. There is also a much darker and more malevolent force in the abandoned section of the hospital and no-one is keen to go there on their own.

Paris, France

From the Eiffel Tower to the delicious food, Paris is an outstanding place. There are so many sites to see and so many things to do. You could go to the Louvre Museum in Paris, did you know that it is one of the most visited and the largest museums. It even stores the Mona Lisa, which is considered the most famous painting. 

There’s great food and there are great things to see. You could watch a mime, you could have your portrait done, or you could even go up to the Eiffel tower. Now about the food there. You know how we have food trucks and whatnot in the United States, they have carts and sell other things! Like sandwiches, a variety of crepes and pancakes, and food around the world.

There are great hotels too. Mandarin Oriental, Paris is from 7/10 to 9/10 rating on everything. Even though it’s a lot of money ($735 per night) it’s sweet. There is great food, there is a great location, there is great service, there are great rooms and more. Hôtel de Crillon, Paris is a 7/10 to a 10/10 rating on everything. It is $822 per night but it sure is worth it. Everything is great, from the location to the Rooms, there is great food, service, style, there are even special rooms reserved for people with disabilities. That’s pretty awesome.  The islands of Hawaii    

 Once someone goes to Hawaii, many things can pop into your head. For example, if you are interested in history, the first thing that might come to mind is to go to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. If you are really into the outdoors and being active, you might think of hiking the steep mountains. If you are a foodie, you might think of all the food you can eat at luaus. But I want to surf and swim with the dolphins.

 For those of you who are foodies, let me tell you about food. Two of the most common, you may already know, but the Pineapple and the Coconut. At Morning Glass Coffee and Café, a tiny café tucked away in breezy Manoa Valley on Oahu, the two worlds of lunch and breakfast collide for the delicious, savory brunch dish, mac and cheese pancakes. (Yes, macaroni and cheese pancakes, you read that right.) Another one you might not have heard of is Strawberry Mochi, this tasty treat is gooey, chewy, and delicious. Mochi, as you might know, is a sweet Japanese rice cake, which is in no short supply in Hawaii. There are many forms of mochi in Hawaii, there is Mochi ice, Mochi balls with shaved ice, there is even something called butter Mochi (another local style food that you must hunt down and try.) But, the Strawberry Mochi “Hailing” from Two Ladies Kitchen, Hilo, Hawaii is considered a perennial favorite. Now for the last one, we are going to do (Hopefully we all know, or at least have heard of) Shave Ice. All-natural, fruity but sweet, and pure deliciousness. Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha in the Aina Haina Shopping Center of Oahu makes each shave ice cop with all-natural syrup. If you want a bit sweeter shave ice, get a chocolate version made with Waialua chocolate.

 For some of you, I would suggest the island of Kokee. This island is known for all the crazy waterfalls. This island can check off almost every traveler’s bucket list, like how there are beautiful beaches, hikes, resorts, and not to mention beaches, hikes, resorts, and not to mention that isn’t one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth. The Awaawapuhi Trail will take you on the ultimate journey as you ascend from 4,120 feet elevation in the Kokee state park to the valleys of Nualolo and Awa’awapuhi valleys at 2,500 feet.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

 There are many things to do in Brazil, but one of the most commonly visited is Rio De Janeiro. One of the many beautiful sites to see is the “Christ the Redeemer” statue. This statue is an art deco created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot. 

The Ipanema beach is yet another beautiful site. You can go and swim, play, and get a tan if you want. This beach is famous because it was the birthplace for the song “ Garota De Ipanema” (Girl from Ipanema,) at this beach you can also hang out with many beautiful people.

The food is pretty good as from what I have read. One of these dishes is called Feijoada. Feijoada is Brazil’s national dish. This rich bean and meat stew is served with rice or farofa ( made from toasted cassava flour) and a regular part of most Brazilian’s.

Stranger Things Season 4

This will include spoilers if you have not seen “Stranger things”

For all you “Stranger Things” fans, there is a big surprise coming at the end of the clip. As many fans and Fan theories have already predicted based on the post-credit in the final episode of season 3, Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is back, despite appearing to have perished/died in an extra-dimensional portal. 

Right now there are no current dates for Season 4 to come out, but that hasn’t stopped the love for stranger things, and all of the amazing fan theories. Also, why did the creators of stranger things show Hopper at the end of the credits? To be honest I think that it would have been way more exciting if it only showed him in the new teaser trailer. But whatever, we all wanted to know what happened to him, and now we know. He is a Russian prisoner (spoiler alert) Well now to the fan theories.

  One of these fan theories that really caught my attention is that Hopper now might have Upside-down powers. From season 3, it seemed that Hopper had passed away when the reactor exploded and the rift closed. But, there is no indicator in the preview that tells us how Hopper survived. But, it is unlikely he survived a reactor explosion and took a flight to Russia. Sc clearly, Hopper wasn’t disintegrated like the assassin “Gregori”. We will just have to wait and see once season 4 comes out on Netflix.  Stranger Things season 3 ended in the Russian laboratory, where two guards threw a prisoner to a Demogorgon. If Hopper is the mysterious “American” prisoner, and he isn’t on the monster menu, there is something that the Russians think is special about him. Whatever got him in this Russian prison, sets him above and beyond all the other prisoners, and this likely has something to do with the reactor. But we will have to see once season 4 comes out on Netflix.

  Alaska: Smoked Salmon

There are five different species of salmon throughout/year-round the year which are: Chum, Sockeye, King, Silver, Pink. Around 90%  (wild) salmon that is harvested in the United States comes from Alaska. One of the best ways to serve salmon is to smoke it in a smoker.  They usually use the basic salt, pepper, and/or homemade seasoning to season it. They then wrap it in foil, cook it, then dig in!

Florida: Key Lime Pie

Food historians say that key lime pie’s origin began in the Key West area in the early 20th century. Restaurants around the state all serve at least one version of this dessert. Many people disagree that the Key Lime Pie should or shouldn’t have a topping. But topping or not, it’s a classic Florida dessert.

Utah: Green River Melons

Some states grow fruit/vegetables that are so good they have to be recognized. About 180 miles (southeast) from Salt Lake is a quiet ¨Paradise¨ known as Green River. The area ́s 4,000-foot elevation makes an ideal location for the melons to grow and they have been doing this for a long time. Many people (Roadside vendors) sell cantaloupes, honeydew, Winter Pink Watermelon, and a vast variety more.
