Evolution of Xbox

The Xbox started off with a box that looked like it did nothing to the soon being released Xbox Series X with a whole new design it’s a weird evolution, so with that being said let’s jump into it. I already did an evolution article on Iphone which I would definitely recommend if you are into that.

 

Xbox

The very first Xbox was released November 15, 2001. You had to play with a wired controller at the time because there was no way to connect a wireless controller to it in 2001 because at the time it was hard to get a bluetooth controller to connect to an Xbox considering it was the first one they made and they didn’t really know how to make a good bluetooth controller without it being big and bulky and uncomfortable to hold. So they made it wireless so they didn’t have to spend more money as if they hadn’t already spent enough trying to make a good design. They could have spent more but they found the good design with the standard wired controller for comfortability reasons and people liked the design of no charging.

 

Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 was the second Xbox to come out, and came out on November 22, 2005. With the new Xbox they got wireless controller which some people like and didn’t like, one of the things they liked was that it was wireless but a downside to the wireless part was it needed batteries so you had to constantly have an extra set a batteries or else you couldn’t play your Xbox games which would be really annoying if you just got a new game and you couldn’t play it.

 

Xbox One

The Xbox One came out on November 22, 2013 which a lot of people liked the design of the Xbox and the Controller. They liked the design of the Xbox because of how it only had a white light on it instead of a bright green light. And people also liked the controller because the batteries go inside the controller instead of having to have a battery pack on the back like on the Xbox 360 where you had to add on a little pack for the batteries which annoyed some people that didn’t want to have extra bulk. And it had better processors so it was faster and could get more games than the Xbox 360.

 

Xbox One S

The Xbox One S is a white and skinnier version of the Xbox One. The Xbox One S has a faster processor than the Xbox One. It is much faster to load games and doesn’t cost that much more than the Xbox One. It is much better looking but most people didn’t want it because they had just gotten their normal Xbox One and they didn’t want to spend more money because they had already gotten to Xbox One and decided it would be fine for a while longer or they’ll just get on of the newer ones once they come out. What they didn’t know is how much better the Xbox One S is compared to the Xbox One in speed and design and it had better controllers so if anything they were just missing out. 

 

Xbox One X

The Xbox One X is the same design as the Xbox One S except for it is black and has slightly different controllers. The original Xbox One S controllers were only white but you could get them in different colors but same design and you could hook them up to the Xbox One which a lot of people who owned the Xbox One and wanted a different, nicer controller could now do. The Xbox One X was the fastest and most powerful console in the world. It could run about 10 times faster than the Xbox One S and about 20 times faster than the Xbox One. Which is what made a lot of people want to buy it.

 

Xbox Series X (Soon to be Released)

I already wrote a whole article about the Xbox Series X which you can check out here, so I’ll give you a brief rundown. It is a whole new design and shell (the outside). They had to take a lot of time on this one because Microsoft had to find a whole new way to put all of the technology because they decided to make it a vertical design so it would stand up right instead of being horizontal like all the other Xbox’s. Sure you can just stand up your Xbox to Xbox One X but this one is different. Microsoft made this one so it will always stand upright. You can lay it on it’s side but then it looks like you have a big box on your desk and it can ruin the software because it shifts it. Now you might be asking,”Wouldn’t it hurt the Xbox One’s software to put it on it’s side?” The answer is no because it’s software is packed so tightly together so it can’t shift or move in anyway.

Why the Oculus Quest is Becoming One of the Biggest Vr Headsets

I have owned my Quest for about 3 weeks and I’ve had friends play it and they say it’s better than the Pc powered ones. They mainly say that because of the wireless ability to play without being tethered to a Pc, and mainly because one of them has the Htc Vive and they all played it and said it was way too expensive for an experience like that. The Htc Vive starts at around $800, while the Quest starts at $400 for the 64 GB but then the 128 GB version costs another $100 which makes it start at around $500 unless you get it used

Features 

When Oculus saw that there was a way to connect the Vr headset to the owners Pc they introduced the Oculus Link, and the reasoning for this was so you could download games from your Pc and play them on the go. And the good part about this is you can download a game from your Pc on to your Quest and bring it to your friend’s house and play that game at their house without asking if they have a Pc to connect to and play the game you downloaded. And if you played in your garage and you couldn’t bring your Pc out there then you bring your Quest inside your house overnight and download the game you were going to play and then bring it back outside and play that game with the freedom as if the game was on the store on the Quest. And all the games work decently well considering that it’s completely standalone. 

And Oculus recently released the Hand-Tracking on the Oculus Quest where the 4 cameras on the front track your hands. It hasn’t been used in any of the hit games such as Beat Saber and Job Simulator yet because they released the hand tracking on January 2 so they need to have more updates so it can have better tracking because the cameras on the front can’t run the highest quality. But when you use the Touch Controllers (The same ones Facebook used on the Rift and Rift S) the tracking gets much better because it focuses on the tiny lights on the controllers. Which used to have issues because if you got yours around Christmas, like me, you would have issues with the tracking because of the lights on the tree but Oculus recently fixed that so it can only track the lights on the controllers.

Competitors

Now you may be asking yourself “Why the Oculus Quest over PsVr, Pimax, or Htc Vive.” The reason why I wouldn’t prefer for the PsVr is it tracks these bright colored lights and if you have a light with the same colors in the background then it will think that the light is the controller and will mess up the tracking. And you need to buy a Ps4 for about $400 and the PsVr starts st $200 so that’s already $600 which is already $200 over the Quest. And with the Pimax the lowest priced on is double the price of the 64 GB Quest. You might get a better experience with the Pimax but you have to buy a Pc that’s over $1000 if you want the best experience. So that’s a $1,600 difference then the Quest. And with the Htc Vive, it isn’t as expensive but you still have to have that super nice Pc and the Controllers don’t come in the package so you have to spend another $100 to get those just to be able to play. And with it being 2020 people are getting into Vr especially teens so the Quest is a good starting Vr and affordable. And the games on it are decently good. Considering that it’s a fully standalone headset and has some of the most popular games.

With Beat Saber on the Oculus Quest, you can connect it to your Pc and get custom songs while with the PsVr you can’t and you always have to be tethered to a PlayStation which is much lighter than a Pc which makes the chance of it falling off and breaking higher. Which would mean that you wouldn’t be able to play Vr anymore, or you could get to Quest and not have to worry about that. Sure, you get a better field of view but that would make you feel more in a different world which would mean you might try to walk and it wouldn’t work, and then your Pc or Ps4 could fall and break. And then you wouldn’t be able to play Vr at all if it broke. The worst thing that could happen when you’re playing the Quest while it’s plugged into an outlet is it just gets unplugged.

In conclusion, the reason why the Oculus Quest is growing is because of the price, the freedom aspect of it, and the Oculus link just made it run the same as the $600 Oculus Rift, but of course to use the Oculus link you need a Pc powerful enough to run it so that could cost a small fortune but other than that the Oculus Quest is one of the best selling Vr’s.

Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s new Xbox, it has more of a computer tower look compared to the standard Xbox One and 360. It has almost the same controllers though as the Xbox One, the Xbox Series X runs on it will run on a AMD Zen 2 CPU as well as some custom AMD accessories. It will be a very big jump from the standard horizontal design to the vertical tower like design 

Comparison Between One and Series X

The Xbox One has the standard horizontal so for someone to get a whole different design of an Xbox is kind of a big deal mainly for the people who play Xbox a lot to get a whole new design of an Xbox and even more powerful than what they had before getting the Xbox Series X. And the Xbox Series X has more technological things involved like how Microsoft can fit the same amount of technology plus more in an if anything smaller casing. It’s almost like when the Xbox One S came out, it had more technology but in a smaller casing.

Now you might be wondering “Why to put it in a smaller casing?” or “Why do you need more technology?” And the answer is that it runs faster with more technology which is what people want and if it has a smaller casing it would be easier to travel with. Of course, there’s always the screen that you can attach onto the Xbox One S which is probably more convenient for traveling and playing with your friends, but if you are going on a plane ride somewhere and you don’t plan on wanting to play Xbox on the way there but you only want to play it at your hotel then the Xbox Series X is a good choice for you because it isn’t as big so you could fit it in your bag and it is also easy for you to set it up, and it’s lightweight so you don’t have to feel like you’re carrying 50 lbs in your bag.

Why the Xbox Series X is Good?

The reason why it’s so good is because it runs faster and has more technology like I said, but more people will want to buy it because of how fast it runs, and at most Microsoft stores they let you test the actual console to see it you like the Specs and the Speed of the console. Also, people want to have the best and the fastest so they can load their game faster than most other consoles.

iPhone 11

When Apple released the iPhone 11 a lot of people got it with the normal 11 being $700 and the Pro starting at $1000, and if you want to go up and beyond you can get the Pro Max staring at $1100. Which most people are a bit too much considering that the only upgrade from the Pro is that you get a bigger screen. Which if you ask some people they would say they like the smaller phone because you have all the same things except the screen which makes it harder for it to fit in their pockets which would make the chances of it falling out higher and then it would probably break faster.

 

The difference from the iPhone XR

The Iphone 11 and the Xr have the same screen dimensions but the 11 has another camera and the Pro has 2 more than the Xr. The only reason why the 11 has 2-3 cameras is because Apple made it so you can zoom out to take wider pictures so if you were at a really cool places but it was hard to do a panorama you could just zoom out and you would be able to see the whole place without having to have the hard task of doing a panorama.

Evolution of iPhones

The evolution of iPhones has been going on since January 9, 2007, and hasn’t stopped and probably won’t stop for a while because people like the design of the phones. And it’s kind of crazy how many phones they’ve made since 2007 considering they also made the Plus version of most of the phones starting at the 6 and have kept going to the 11. And they might have changed the name by calling it the iPhone XS Max or the Pro which they got from the MacBook because of the upgraded version of the MacBook.

iPhone 1

The iPhone 1 (also called the iPhone 2G) was announced on January 9, 2007, and was later released on June 29, 2007, with the title of “The First Touch-Screen iPhone.” This phone was a big jump for Apple because all they had before was a stylus.

iPhone 2

The iPhone 2 (also called the iPhone 3G) was a little bit like the iPhone 2G but with a little bit of a better logic board and a better battery, which meant it was faster when loading things and could stay on for longer.

iPhone 3

The iPhone 3 (better known as the iPhone 3GS) had the same casing as the iPhone 3G but it was a little bit better and got more updates than the iPhone 3G. The only reason for this is that Apple had more technology at the time, therefore they could make a better logic-board.

iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 was announced on June 7, 2010. With more flat sides and a bit bigger, and that made more and more people want it because they thought their 3GS was too small for them and that the iPhone 4 was way better when it was almost the same as the iPhone 3GS, but they didn’t know that so they bought it.

iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 passed the iPhone 4 by far. It had a better processor than all of them and it was bigger, a lot of people still have iPhone 5’s because Apple knew how to make a durable phone that could last years on end if you knew how to take care of it. And people like it because it was a good size to fit in your pocket but big enough to see.

iPhone 6

The iPhone 6 and 6s are a little bit different so let’s start with the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 has good but not as good software as the 6s. Also, the iPhone 6 can’t get iOS 13 because it was released before the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6s has good processors and can get iOS 13 because it was released after the 6 but the battery’s on both aren’t the best.

iPhone 7

The iPhone 7, 6s and 6 all have the same dimensions but the iPhone 7 has better processors and a bigger camera, but it does have the same screen size as both the 6’s. And if you get an iPhone 7 case you could also put it on the iPhone 6 and 6s which Apple did on purpose because people liked the size of the iPhone 6 and 6s.

iPhone 8

The iPhone 8 has once again the same screen dimensions as the iPhone 7 and both 6’s. And once again they did it on purpose for cases and people preferred the sizing of both the 7 and 6. But this time Apple put on a glass back to make it look better which they then carried the design onto the newer ones. But the only difference between the 7 and 8 was the logic-board, the camera didn’t even change, which surprised most people because they changed it on most of the newer ones.

iPhone 10

The iPhone 10 (also called the iPhone X/XR) was the first iPhone to not have a home button which most people didn’t like but when they released the iPhone X the also couldn’t do touch ID anymore so instead they used Face ID which mainly tracked your eyes and that’s how you would unlock it or you could use a password but most people used face ID. The 3 main differences between the iPhone X and 8 were the camera size, no home button and the logic board which was much bigger because they had more space to work with.

iPhone 11

The iPhone 11 was released with the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. It was almost the same design as the X except the 11 had 2-3 cameras on it depending on which one you got. Normal having 2 and the Pro having 3. With these extra cameras, you would have the ability to zoom out and have a wider field of view if you didn’t want to do a panorama.
