History of the Wolf haircut

History of the Wolf haircut

Imagine how you would look if you had a wolf cut? There are many types of wolf cuts. But the trendy hairstyle only has 2 certain face shapes and if you have either of those it might look great, but if you don’t you might instantly regret it. So why the wolf cut?

The “wolf cut” might not sound pleasing but it’s one of the current trendy hairstyles. The celebrity hairstylist Cheryl Bergamy is getting so many requests on the Wolf cut, including, Her clients, Demi Lovato, John Legend, and 50 Cent. Cheryl told Fox News, “The wolf cut brings back that late 80s feel. We had the shag, the mullet, and now the wolf cut,” Bergamy told Fox News. “If I had to explain exactly what a wolf cut is, I would say it’s a spit between a shag and a mullet fused giving a new punk fashion trend for 2021.”

Bergamy says that it looks and works best for an oval and heart-shaped head, but the celebrity says if you’re committed to the cut but have a different face shape she can customize it to whatever your face shape is. She also told Fox News, “When wearing a wolf cut it’s layered in a specific way and there are certain pieces in between the cuts that are short,” and “So now the question is how can I make everything even again? You can cut everything down short into a long pixie cut or cut the back short and as it gradually grows in you can just basically cut it into a nice short bob or depending on how long the sides are you can do a layered bob.”

The potential pitfall? Growing it out, Bergamy said. This trendy hairstyle could be bringing us back to the 1980s. Nowadays trends are bringing us back to the late 1900s, and haircuts are one of the most popular today. Don’t expect the wolf cut to be a flash in the pan, Bergamy said. “As fashion is turning back to that punk rock of the 70s/80s era I don’t see this style going anywhere any time soon,” she said. This weird-looking ‘do, is also known as a fluffy mullet. As the new styles and trends come along the old setting trends will possibly knock the new and current trends out of place and become more popular.
