Full Harvest Blue Moon On Halloween

A Halloween With A Full Blue Moon

In October, there was a full moon on the 1st and there is going to be a full moon on the 31st. For the second time this month which means this year will have 13 full moons instead of 12. When every month has one full moon in October this year will have two. And that second full moon (Which is on The 31st) this month will be blue. Although it will not appear as though the moon is blue it just means it’s the second full moon of the month or like the saying goes “Once A Blue Moon.”

5:05 pm ET on October 1 st the full harvest moon was raised. And A full harvest moon is just a moon but it is the moon that is closest to the Autumnal Equinox which usually is in September. Like last year when it was on September 13th was when it happened but this year the full moon in September was September 1st. So the full moon that happened on October 1st became the full harvest moon. Which also only happens every 2.5 years.

And the reason that this moon is so important is that farmers can farm late at night with a bright moon tonight.

And on October 31st the day of Halloween, a Halloween blue hunter’s moon will appear. Which is the moon after the harvest moon. And this moon is when hunters hunt for prey using the moonlight glow. Which will help them prepare for winter.

Anything like this is rare to happen across many time zones and hasn’t happened since 1944 76 years ago!

And in some time zones, they get full moons on Halloween every 19 years. So you can expect a full moon on Halloween again in the years, 2039, 2058, 2077, and 2096.

And also on Halloween, it will look like it’s orange making it look like a great big jack o lantern. Give it a nice spooky glow coming down to you while you have a scary night trick or treat.
