Early 2000s Cartoons VS. Now

  When you think of cartoons now, what do you immediately think of? Maybe Paw Patrol, or shows like Teen Titans Go! Or We Bare Bears, The Loud House and things like that. But, what about shows like Spongebob Squarepants (Well, the old seasons) or shows like Fairly Odd Parents, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius? Those shows are so good. 

 

  There are also shows like Dexter’s Laboratory. Or shows like Danny Phantom. Or the old Powerpuff Girls. The remake is just trash.

  The old Powerpuff Girls were so good. They should’ve just stopped after finishing the show. They made a remake, finding out that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup had a long lost sister called Bliss. It’s really bad! Mojo Jojo isn’t even in the show anymore, neither are the other villains. 

 

    Bliss is supposed to be their long lost sister even though they are creations. 

 

    Another show that is kinda bad now is SpongeBob Squarepants. The show is good, don’t get me wrong. It used to be good. After the 7th season it’s just garbage. The producers are just trying too hard now. They should’ve just stopped after the 7th instead of making more so you can’t catch up on the others without an entirely new season coming out a month later. 

 

  The new seasons like 8-12 are garbage. Like Patrick has his own tv show. They have like five spin off series and like it’s not good. The Spongebob movie where they go to get King Neptune’s crown was the best movie. The one where they get super powers was okay  but if I had a choice to get rid of one of the movies it would be the second one.

 

  Now onto the pros and cons. The pros of the new cartoons are that the graphics are better. Like they have grown but honestly they aren’t the same. 

 

  The cons are, the cartoon companies are running out of ideas. Cartoons from like 1998-2011 were probably way better. Like the producers just had such a wide range of ideas for what they could write a TV series about as of now we have like fifteen different kids cartoons about superheroes or spies. There’s just not a wide variety of show ideas now. Talking animals, already done like 55 times. Super heroes, the basic cartoon idea. It’s just not the same anymore. 

If we just didn’t make a new cartoon series every two months like we do now, we would save options for later instead of wasting them on cartoons that aren’t even that good.

The thing about peaches

We all must know about the delicious, juicy fruit called peaches. If you don’t than where have you been?! This article is all about peaches and what we all sacrifice to eat and enjoy them.

Teeth + Peaches

To start us off, we will start by talking about peaches and teeth. Have you ever eaten a peach and then afterwards realized that you have a little piece of it stuck in between your teeth? You think, “Oh it’s no big deal I’ll just go brush my teeth and it will come right out.” BUT NO! You brush and it’s still there. So you start to floss but the piece is so small and so stuck in there that the floss can get all around i but it can’t get the one piece of peach!! Then you move to your last resort… your fingers. You try and pull it out but your fingers are just not small enough. Then you go to sleep and it magically comes out in your sleep. Uhg. That is the biggest and main problem with peaches!

In Season

Next, you have to wait so long for peaches to come into season. You can buy them early but who wants to eat a hard peach? No one! So you have to wait and watch as the days pass and the peach is sitting on the counter just slowly ripening for you to eat it. You wait for sooooo long and then finally the day comes when it just might be ripe enough. You go up to it and gently touch it to see how soft it is and it is perfect! After waiting for 1 week you finally get to enjoy it. Then Winter comes and you spend all of your time thinking about those juicy peaches. Then Spring passes by and you still think everyday about peaches. *Sigh. Then mid-July comes (that’s when they are in season) and you rush out to the store and buy the only bag of peaches left. You do that all season until end of September comes around. (That’s when they go out of season) Now you must wait another long year until they come back.

Bugs

Finally, peaches are so good that they attract a long list of bugs to them along with humans. Some of the most common bugs that also like peaches are plum curculio, Oriental fruit moth, peach tree borer, lesser peach tree borer, shot hole borer, cat facing insects, scale, Japanese beetle, and the green June beetle. So when you eat peaches you never know what bugs may have touched the outside of that peach. This is why you should take extra caution when washing any fruit. You also never know what bugs may be inside of the peach that you are about to eat or have already eaten. Some of these bugs are so small that it is hard to see them but some of them are big and easily avoidable. So overall, make sure to take caution when washing your peaches (or any fruit for that matter) so that you don”t get sick or anything like that.

So these are the things about peaches. They have their pro’s and con’s. I personally don’t love peaches that much. I like them 40% of the time but I hate them the other 60% of the time.  So let’s all go out and enjoy or not enjoy those peaches!

Roblox is not a appropriate game for kids

Roblox might look like a fun safe game for kids but it really is not. Roblox has content such as sex acts, killing, the idea of murder, nudity and most dangerous. You play Roblox online and can chat with adults trying to get your information, scam you and much more. 

 

The games 

Roblox is a game that has a ton of minnie games in that one game, but some of the games are not appropriate for kids at the age of seven to nine. For example, like i said before there are minnie games, such as shedletsky’s dirty place is not appropriate for young kids at all. Shedletsky’s Dirty Place is a Roblox sex game where Shedletsky tries to do very dirty games with you and the game targets the ages thirteen and below. Kids that have played this game have been reported getting very bad nightmares. Some other roblox games that are not appropriate are, survive the killer, shower simulator, dance clubs and much more . Surviving the killer is one of those games that have extreme violence. Shower simulator falls under a sexual minnie game not appropriate for kids and dance club games are okay but should be taken seriously because if you don’t have any parental control your kid can most likely talk and chat with people all around the world. 

Your avatar

In a game you have to have a charter or yourself but when you are making your avatar you want to be careful because you can put on a body suit that makes you look naked. If parents are going to let their kid play roblox you have to restrict it and make sure you don’t have your credit card hooked up on the device. If you have your credit card hooked up to the device they’re playing on you can lose a lot of money because your kid is buying robux, what makes it worse is to buy robux all you have to do is push a few buttons and boom money, wasted. 

 

Addict 

Like some other games it is super easy for your kid to be stuck on Roblox and only play Roblox for their free time. To put things into perspective the more you’re on Roblox the more your mental health goes way down and they’re not out playing with friends and learning valuable collaboration skills and social skills. For example sometimes my brother has tantrums when he cant play Roblox or when something in his favorite minnie game is gone. When my brother started playing Roblox he was glued onto the screen for hours. 

Kidnappers

A thirteen year old girl was kidnapped from an old man she made friends with on Roblox thinking he was her age. Thankfully she was returned home safely after police found her two days after missing and arrested the man named, Howard graham. Kidnapping is such a real thing that can happen when you are not careful on Roblox {there are also kidnapping minnie games in Roblox where the player has to kidnap innocent people.} 

 

People 

I have already touched this topic a bit in this review but there is more to just talking to people.  When you play with people and talk to them long enough you can be brainwashed and you can be making a friend  that back stabs you or just targets you for really inappropriate things.

 

Mental health 

Mental health is the key for a good, nice future and when your kids’ mental health plumits because of sleep deprivation and horrific Roblox games this just makes their mental health worse. On the other hand when your kid is non stop playing Roblox that can make their mental and physical health worse. When your kids play Roblox all day they can stop wanting to go to school or do school, or hang out with friends unless they’re on Roblox too. 

 

Conclusion

The conclusion of this whole article is of course roblox is bad for kids but like I have said before, roblox is just a dirty game you kids can get addicted to, lose mental health, they can meet very dangerous people and they can play dangerous games with adult content. Sum up this whole thing, roblox is bad and kids probably should not play roblox.

Who Actually Made the Modern Flag Design?

Most people think that Betsy Rose was the designer of the American flag, but that’s wrong, she only made the flag. The real real designer was a 17 year old boy, he designed it for a high school project.

How It Got Started 

As I mentioned, the flag was made by a 17 year old boy. This boy, Robert G. Heft designed this flag in 1958. This only happened because he was assigned it as an American history project, and after their discussion of adding Hawaii and Alaska as states. Heft was inspired, and decided he was going to make a flag, with stars for Hawaii and Alaska. 

He worked on this project for twelve and a half hours to figure out the arrangement with the new coming states and to sew. Even though Heft didn’t know how to sew, he put all his effort in, and only to get graded a B- by his teacher, Stanley Pratt.

Stanley Pratt’s reasons were that “anyone could make the flag” and “lacked originality”. His teacher also asked him if he knew how many states there were in America, because he added more stars for the new states.

His teacher had then said if Congress could adopt it, then he would receive a better grade.

Heft sent his flag off to the Congressman of Ohio, which was at the time, Representative Walter Moeller. Over 1,500 was the number of how many entries he had won.

Because of this change, we have a new American flag that became official on July 4, 1959. He even was personally invited to Washington D.C. by the 34th president, Dwight D. Eisenhower. But more importantly, Robert Heft got his “A”.

What the Flag Means

The flag that Robert Heft designed is symbolic, in many ways. 

The Stripes

The 13 stripes on the flag are important because they resemble the 13 colonies. The 13 colonies are Eastern states, that were the first states settled there in America. Including: New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

The Stars

The stars on the flag represent the states. There are 50 states and 50 stars. Again, there used to be 48 because Alaska and Hawaii weren’t official states yet, but because of Heft’s care for the states, we have an even number: 50.

The Colors

Some may not know this, but the colors are also symbolic. Stated in pbs.org “Red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.” 

Sounds like a perfect American flag, with symbolism for the stars, stripes and colors, that all match the country really well. Every time you see the flag, or say the Pledge of Allegiance, remember what it represents. And always remember Robert Heft, the man who made the flag at age 17, for a high school project.

Weezer the Band

The band Weezer was founded in 1992. The band consists of the members Rivers Coumo (Lead vocals, lead guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals). 

 

  The first album they ever published was the Blue Album. That came out on May 10, 1994.

Another really popular song by Weezer is Island In the Sun.  Rivers Cuomos has written all the songs they have released. He is also the lead singer. 

Weezer also likes to make covers of songs, including Happy Together, Mr. Blue Skies. They have also made a cover of Africa. Also one of Billie Jean.  

 

  One member of Weezer, ex-member Matt Sharp, was a bassist in the band until he left in 1998. He left because he had a second band called the Rentals. He wanted to work with the Rentals full time so he decided to leave Weezer to pursue that dream. Matt Sharp was in the first two albums Weezer released. The Blue Album and Pinkerton. 

 

One fun fact you may be wondering about is, why is the band Weezer called Weezer in the first place? Well, I in fact have the answer to that. The reason the band is called Weezer is because it was a nickname the main member Rivers Cuomo got from kids at school because he got bullied for having asthma. Also, a name River Cuomos got from his biological father, so they took that name and made it the band name. 

 

  Another fun fact about the band is their first opening gig was opening for Keanu Reeves vanity band. The band was formed on Valentines day, 1992. The reason the album is called the Blue Album is because it was Cuomo’s favorite color growing up. 

 

  Rivers Cuomo also graduated from Harvard with a bachelor’s degree. They also got some of their inspiration from the Beatles. The era Weezer is in is the mid 90s is what it is classified as. The second most popular song by Weezer is Islands In the Sun. Weezer has been reported to have 15 studio albums, two compilation albums, 1 video album, nine extended plays, 37 singles and 40 music videos.

Nursing

A nursing career can be a difficult yet rewarding job. This job requires both physical and mental stamina. To become a nurse you need to have a bachelors of science in nursing degree. In nursing there are so many varieties of nurses that you can choose from, all of the types of nurses have a really big role in the community and really just the responsibility to help those in need.  

Salary 

A nursing salary all depends on how good of a nurse you are and how long you have been a nurse. A new graduated nurses salary ranges from 50k-79k a year. A registered nurse’s salary ranges between 61k-130k per year. Which is about 26 to 52 dollars an hour. As of right now California is at the top of the list for highest paid nurses, with Hawaii and Colorado following close behind. Your salary will all depend on what nursing you do and for how long.

 

ER nurse

An ER nurse is someone who is there in an emergency to help you in serious situations. An ER nurse treats people who are facing traumatic or severe, often life-threatening medical conditions. An ER nurse’s primary responsibility is to identify medical issues, determine severity, and provide immediate support to minimize negative long-term effects and, if necessary, even sustain life. An ER nurse is one of the first responders when a patient is admitted to the emergency room. ER nurses are one of the most important nurses there is. 

Labor and delivery nurse

A labor and delivery nurse is someone who is licensed to help and deliver newborns. A labor and delivery nurse needs to be able to support obstetricians, midwives, expectant parents, and newborns. A labor and delivery nurse can provide medication and patient education, while monitoring vitals during and after childbirth. 

 

Some strengths for a labor and delivery nurse include having a sense of humor for the patient so that it is not so scary. They have to have empathy for the family, because it is a special time for them, which can include sadness, fear and happiness. To be a labor and delivery nurse you need to be calm at all times  so that you do not freak out or worry the patients. 

 

After about ten years plus of being a labor delivery nurse with excellent experience and high-volume L&D hospital units, they will transfer you to a Specialized in providing antepartum and postpartum nursing care to patients with pregnancy and labor complications. Which can be a lot more difficult, and can end up not being a good day for the parents. Which means you would need A LOT of empathy for the patient is that field in labor and delivery nursing.

All in all being a nurse can be a really hard job to do. Nursing is a job that you will need to be really consistent in what you do. This job can also be really stressful yet dangerous. This job needs stamina and control. Being a nurse can also end up being really rewarding for you and many others.
