Reasons to read/watch Death Note

Reasons to read/watch Death Note

Reasons to read/watch Death Note

1. The story is amazing

The story of Death Note is beautifully written and a wild, thrilling ride, with many unexpected twists and turns, and it was an amazing read. As I read the manga, I thought to myself many times that if the Death Note were real and dropped into the real world, the story that occurs in Death Note would likely happen in the real world as well. The story is so exciting because the ‘villian’ and ‘hero’ in this story are incredibly intelligent and will think things through to a surprising extent.

2. The characters in the story are well-written

All the characters in Death Note in the story are astonishingly well-written and all the characters have their morals, personalities, and values, even the side characters have delightful writing and it exceeded my expectations when I first began reading the manga. To add onto that, all the characters have fairly realistic personalities and it’s awfully easy to relate to any of the characters in the manga or anime. Some of the characters aren’t fully good people, for example, The main character, Light Yagami, is possibly the worst in the story if we look at it from a personality perspective. His morals are complicated and some people agree with them, and some people don’t. What makes his morals so complicated is that they represent ‘anti-heroes’, which is a hard thing to agree or disagree with and requires a lot of thought to decide what your opinion is on it.

3. It’s recommended by many other people

Whenever I ask other people for recommendations for a new manga to read or for a new anime to watch, many of the answers I got shared one thing. Many people answered that I should read or watch Death Note, and they weren’t wrong in the slightest when they said that the anime or manga is utterly spectacular. Although there isn’t a right manga or anime to start with, Death Note is a great option because the story could be entertaining to just about anyone, which is why it’s so highly recommended by others.

4. It explores what is ethically right and wrong

What makes the story so interesting to read or watch is that it questions what is ethically right and wrong. Many times as I read the manga, I questioned whether or not I supported what was happening in the story or not or who I should be rooting for, I won’t tell you what happens for obvious reasons but there’s an astronomical amount of scenes where it’ll likely make you question your morals and who you should be rooting for, like what I lightly touched earlier on in the article.

5. The art style is aesthetically pleasing to look at

Although this one applies more to the manga series rather than the anime, the art style is beautiful to look at and also it’ll accept other types of people. For example, the art style still does an amazing job of drawing plus-sized people, people of color, etc. So, if you were afraid that all the women and men would be copy and paste, conventionally attractive people, you would be mistaken.

6. Death Note is a good recommendation for just about anyone

The story that occurs in Death Note is entirely realistic, to an extent. There are a few supernatural beings that show up in the story, but the story wouldn’t exist if they weren’t there. You’ll understand what I mean if you even read or watch the first little bit of Death Note.

Reasons to read Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun

Reasons to read Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun

Reasons to read Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun [TBHK]

1. The series is still ongoing

The TBHK series isn’t finished yet so you can still read it and brag that you read it while it was still ongoing and when it wasn’t finished yet.

2. Manga is easy and quick to read

Typically, Manga is split up into short volumes that you can read within a day, Although most manga series usually have 20-30 volumes from what I’ve observed, you could still fly through a few manga volumes in just a day! So, if you read a few manga volumes a day, you could finish a manga series in roughly 1-2 weeks. So, if there are 21 manga volumes for toilet-bound Hanako-kun, although it may seem like a lot, it would be a pretty quick read

3. The art style is beautiful

As you read the manga volumes, the manga art style is absolutely stunning and aesthetically pleasing to look at. For example, here’s a picture of the artwork.

🌸Just a manga panel...🌸 | Fandom

4. Manga usually are more true to the plot rather than the anime

Typically, with most anime shows and series, the manga usually holds more secrets and lore that aren’t explained or gone into as much detail as the anime does. So, you’ll be able to have access to lore that wouldn’t be available or even shown in the anime.

5. The lore in the series is spectacular

TBHK is a lighthearted story but also has a darker side to it, intentionally, it’s just about a ghost trying to grant a girl’s wish but as the story progresses, it turns into something much more than just a wish-granting ghost. For obvious reasons, I won’t spoil anything that happens in the series but trust me, the lore is brilliantly written and thought-out.

6. The supernatural abilities in the series are well-thought-out

Since TBHK heavily revolves around ghosts and the supernatural, the abilities in the series are immaculate and aren’t just there for one scene and disappear when they aren’t useful for that one scene anymore. Plus, the supernatural abilities help to make unexpected and surprising plot twists. Not only are the supernatural abilities very cool, but there are downsides to them so not all of the supernatural beings in the series are just Mary Sues. If you don’t know what a Mary Sue is, it’s an overly perfect character with no flaws.

7. TBHK has a wonderful fanbase

Like many other franchises, toilet-bound Hanako-kun has a pretty fun and accepting fanbase. Although there is a good and bad side to every fandom, from what I’ve seen, TBHK is a pretty good fandom compared to other fandoms. The people I’ve met and seen online are all incredibly kind and accepting towards new fans, so if you’re worried about mean people who will harass you for being a ‘new’ fan, you won’t have to worry about that with the toilet-bound Hanako-kun fandom.

8. The characters in the world are well-written

All of the characters in the show and manga are incredibly well-written and aren’t just there for show, or just there for convenience. Although some of the side characters may not have much focus in the story, you’ll still be wondering what their whole deal is. For example, Sakura Nanamine, we don’t know much about her but she still manages to be an interesting character to readers. Also, this is a bit of self-indulgence, but my favorite character, Mitsuba Sousuke is, in my opinion, one of the best-written characters in the series. Now, I don’t wanna spoil anything for incoming readers or new readers, but trust me, I think you’ll love all of the characters in toilet-bound Hanako-kun

10 Anime that will get your friends addicted

10 Anime that will get your friends addicted

Here are some good anime to recommend to your friends and this is why you should recommend them.

  1. Haikyuu!!: The reason why you should recommend this one is because it doesn’t have a lot of episodes, it is entertaining, and it is good for any anime newbie.

  1. Cowboy Bebop: You should recommend this one to a friend who likes science fiction, western things, and noir films. This anime is very entertaining and funny. But I would recommend it to an older crowd.

  1. Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199: This has been described by others as a military science fiction space opera. (I don’t have much to say about this; I’ve never watched it)

  1. Samurai Champloo: People who love jazz and hip hop will love the soundtrack of this anime. The animation style and locations they use are amazing. This anime is cool and fun to watch.

  1. The Promised Neverland: If you lie to your friends about this anime then they might want to watch it even more. You may think this is a heartwarming story when this story is not very happy. I hope you enjoy watching this anime.

  1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: This is for people who like action-adventure, science fiction, and fantasy. Possibly anyone could like this show even if they aren’t a big fan of anime.

  1. One-Punch Man: This one is an amazing action-comedy. The jokes in this show are hilarious and the animation is very smooth and fluid. The fact that when one punch man shows up and just slaps a guy in the face and goes flying is just hilarious to me.

  1. Death Note: First of all, L’s theme is a bop. Second of all, you all need to watch this anime. Make sure you are ok with hearing cussing while watching this because it curses sometimes.

  1. My Hero Academia: First, this anime is dope. Second, you need to watch this anime. Third off there is cussing in this one.

  1. Attack on Titan: This one is a little bit more mature but I would say it’s ok. It does have some nudity and some cussing and blood.

Thank you for reading my long list of anime to recommend. I would say they are all relatively good anime. I would watch them if I had the resources to watch them. I hope you and your friends enjoy watching them.

Why “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day” is the Best Anime

Jintan, Poppo, and Anjo standing on the bridge featured in the anime Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. There is text by them that says "Why “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day” is the Best Anime"

In the past few years, I’ve seen many animes and read a handful of mangas, but nothing I ever engaged in immediately struck me as “the best,”-until I saw Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. In fact, when I finished it, I started re-watching it less than a week later.

(Warning, this post contains spoilers for the show!)

Grief and how the Show Touches on Emotions

For starters, I love how the anime explores the elements of grief people may face. Everyone in the show blames themself in one way or another for Menma’s death. I feel many viewers can relate to this feeling of guilt, and it truly can be tormenting.

The reality of the situation is that Menma’s death was an accident, and while the series of actions by all the characters eventually lead to it, they couldn’t have predicted it and had no intentions of harming anyone. The position everyone was in was very tricky, and I think the show elegantly and realistically touched on it.

I thought it was very interesting that Anjo felt she was being selfish for wanting to help grant Menma’s wish because she thought she may only be doing it to get rid of her.

While that is a hard spot to be in, I love how the anime let those feelings exist without demonizing or celebrating them, because in real life they aren’t one way or another either.

A lot of people are so kind-hearted that they’re always checking themselves to make sure they couldn’t possibly be hurting anyone else. It’s tough to be that way because eventually, it leads to a willingness to hurt yourself if it means others will stay fine. I’m certain a lot of people could relate to that. I’m glad the bad aspects of mental health were represented in this show because they are nothing but realistic and may make people feel less alone.

Throughout every episode of the show, I was able to feel what the characters were feeling, it was greatly communicated, and even had me bawling for the entirety of the last three episodes.

The Side Plots are Just as Important as the Main Plot

What I appreciate the most from the show is how every little detail eventually matters. I find how everything comes together to mean something big in the end is pretty realistic. Life isn’t just a few things relating to one problem or situation, there’s always a bigger picture.

I loved how things from when Menma was still alive still affected the characters, even in the tiniest ways, five years after her death. Everything tied together in a big knot but it was somehow beautiful and understandable. The day of her death and the days leading up to it were very complicated, yet it didn’t seem like it at the time. The deeper meanings of each event meant so much to every individual character.

For example, the hair clip that Yukiatsu tried to give Menma moments before she died was a great plot device. Menma originally rejected it, but when her ghost wanted to say something to Yukiatsu years later, the first thing she said was “Thank you for the hair clip.” There was no way anybody but those two knew about it, and it’s what made Yukiatsu believe she may be back a bit more.

The hair clip also meant a lot to Tsuruko because she had found it on the ground a bit after it was rejected and thrown into the grass by Yukiatsu. It was the one thing she held onto and it made her feel so many things. For one, jealousy, then and even now knowing that Yukiatsu would never choose her. She even tries the on hair clip and wears a similar one later on in the show too.

I also think the blend of the side plots with the saddest points was great because it didn’t leave me bored or feeling stuck sad. It made the ending even more emotional realizing the weight of everything, and that they weren’t just facts.

The Ending

The ending of this show was the best I’ve ever seen. The way Jintan realizes Menma is about to go to heaven and why is crazy.

Throughout the whole show, Jintan and the rest of the group had been trying to grant Menma’s wish so she could pass on to heaven and be happy, but they hadn’t realized they accidentally granted it until it was too late. It was a shock to absolutely everyone.

The scenes following this news are very dramatic, and many heart-wrenching events occur.

“I made it this time, I was able to say goodbye this time.” Menma thinks to herself at one point.

When the screen blurs as Menma fades away, Jintan narrates the conclusion. The narration hints at Menma being reincarnated into a flower, as Menma had vocally believed in it and wanted to go to heaven to reincarnate to live amongst the friends once again. I thought this was a very nice reference to things mentioned earlier in the show.

“As the seasons slip by, different flowers on the sidewalk burst into bloom. I wonder what the name of the flower was that bloomed that one day. Smaller than the rest, it almost hurt to look at it. When I bent down to smell it, I picked up the scent of a long-ago summer- but that scent slowly fades away.”

I think the ending of this show was absolutely beautiful. I thought that how the editors had the intro and outro songs play during the most emotional parts was a phenomenal aspect of the whole experience. They were songs that viewers had grown used to throughout the show, and whether people were annoyed by or indifferent to them, the familiarity of the songs made the ending feel more personal and gave a larger sense of connection.

This anime is hands down the best one I’ve ever seen, and I encourage those who haven’t seen it yet to go watch it. It’s just a whole different type of experience, I never thought I would find sad animes entertaining but I really enjoyed this one.

How Star Wars: Visions Changes the Star Wars Universe

Star Wars: Visions Poster

On September 22nd of this year, the latest Star Wars content was released, a single-season series of 9 different 13-22 minute stand-alone non-canon anime shorts called Star Wars: Visions that aired on Disney+. Even though the show isn’t in the official Star Wars canon, Visions still immensely impacts the Star Wars saga. From when Star Wars: A New Hope was first released in the spring of 1977 to the present day, the Star Wars franchise has greatly expanded, but some things have stayed the same. For example, since the very beginning, Star Wars has been greatly inspired by Japanese storytelling and culture. With the help of 7 popular and successful Japanese animation studios, the 2 worlds of anime and Star Wars finally elope in Star Wars: Visions. While none of the shorts from the show are in the canon Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Visions really changes Star Wars. Not only did it give fans a show to watch without really having to worry about too much of a plot, but it also provided a new novel on the main character of one of the episodes. Not only that, but the show might become bigger in popularity, content and importance to both the Star Wars franchise and its fans.
In the very first episode of Star Wars: Visions titled “The Duel”, the main characters, a stubborn former sith known as the Ronin and his sassy but caring droid companion, B5-56 face a sith lord and her bandits to protect a small village from being robbed of their resources. The Ronin is a lightsaber-wielding force user who used to be a sith and nothing is really mentioned about his past in “The Duel”. He has a red blade as lord of the sith do, has a collection of kyber crystals all of which are coloured red, and says that he isn’t a Jedi, but seems to be a hero with a Jedi like a moral compass. However, a book titled: Star Wars: Ronin – A Visions Novel by first-time author Emma Mieko Candon will be released on the 12th of October this year. The book gives more depth to the main characters, Ronin and B5-56 as well as their story. Not only the main characters but also the main villain. The first part of the first chapter shows what happened just before “The Duel” and what led up to the events in the episode. The rest of chapter 1 and chapter 2 is just what happened in the first episode of Star Wars: Visions. Even though those first two chapters are basically the same as the episode, the book still does a great job of going into the characters’ personalities and perspectives. There is also a voice in Ronin’s head as well as the villain’s head, however, the voice is nowhere to be found in Visions. The book has a lot of twists and turns and it is difficult to stop reading at times. There is no doubt that the book will do really well once it comes out.
Even though none of the shorts from Visions are canon, a lot of the episodes have characters and plot points that are a part of the known universe and could make it possible for the show to sneak its way into the canon Star Wars universe. Although currently there are no plans to make the show a part of the canon, the producer of the show Kanako Shirasaki and Executive producer James Waugh said that there are many ideas that could inspire the next generation of Star Wars writers and producers that lie in Visions. An example of how the show could inspire future creators is the novel about the Ronin from episode 1 of Visions that was previously mentioned. So, even though the show is not a part of the canon saga, some threads of Visions could be woven into the fabric of the Star Wars canon universe. If the show isn’t ever made canon, there is always the possibility of a second season. Waugh said in an interview with Sean Keane from c net that based on how fans react to Visions, which so far is really positive for the most part, another season just might be possible. He also said that he and Kanako really enjoyed the show and would love to continue the show with more content.
Star Wars: Visions is a really important addition to the Star Wars universe. Even if the show isn’t a part of the official canon, it is still a very important element of Star Wars. This is mainly because finally, Star Wars has beautifully clashed with a form of Japanese storytelling where a lot of inspiration was originally drawn for many different directors and writers of the franchise. Seeing the saga connect with its roots in a really creative and different way is really important because it helps people see where it all started and why the Star Wars universe is the way it is today. Visions also have provided some of the best non-canon content yet. The show also gave the universe a lot of room to expand further and maybe even bring in an alternate universe at some point. An entire novel is coming out that has ties to the show. It is just a bunch of shorts that have no relation to each other, so that leaves a lot of room for possible expansion on the series. Overall, Visions, even though the show is not a part of the Star Wars canon, has greatly and positively impacted the Star Wars saga which shows just how important one small thing can change something for the better.

Different kinds of anime and what they are about

Different kinds of anime and what they are about

There are different kinds of anime that have been made throughout time  but the main four anime that have been rated the best in Japan are Tokyo are Naruto, Dragon ball Z, Bleach and one piece. There are many different genres of anime for instance  romance, horror, action ,sci-fi, and many more. Let’s start with Naruto first

Naruto Shippuden .A powerful fox known as the Nine-Tails attacks the hidden leaf village in the Land of Fire, one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries in the Ninja World. In response, the leader the leaf village and the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze (with his wife Kushina Uzumaki) seals the fox inside the body of his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki, making Naruto a host of the beast; this costs Naruto’s father his life, and his mother life s well  the Third Hokage returns from retirement to become the leader of Konoha again. Naruto is often scorned by Konoha’s villagers for being the host of the Nine-Tails. Due to a decree by the Third Hokage forbidding any mention of these events, Naruto learns nothing about the Nine-Tails until 12 years later, when Mizuki, a renegade ninja, reveals the truth to Naruto. Naruto then defeats Mizuki in combat, earning the respect of his teacher, Iruka Umino.

Shortly afterward, Naruto becomes a ninja and joins with Sasuke Uchiha, against whom he often competes, and Sakura Haruno, on whom he has a crush, to form Team 7, under an experienced sensei, the elite ninja Kakashi Hatake. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7 completes missions requested by the villagers, ranging from doing chores and being bodyguards to performing assassinations.

Dragon ball Z. The show is good.  Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Son Goku in his adult life as he and his companions defend the Earth against villains including aliens (Vegeta, Frieza), androids (Cell), and magical creatures (Majin Buu). At the same time, the story parallels the life of his son, Gohan, as well as the development of his rivals, Piccolo and Vegeta.

A humanoid alien named Raditz arrives on Earth in a spacecraft and tracks down Goku, revealing to him that he is his long-lost older brother and that they are members of a near-extinct alien warrior race called the Saiyans. The Saiyans had sent Goku (originally named “Kakarot”) to Earth as an infant to conquer the planet for them, but he suffered a severe blow to the head shortly after his arrival and lost all memory of his mission, as well as his bloodthirsty Saiyan nature.Raditz along with two elites, Vegeta and Nappa are the only remaining Saiyan warriors, so Raditz comes to enlist Goku’s help in conquering frontier worlds. When Goku refuses to join them, Raditz takes Goku and Krillin down with one strike, kidnaps Gohan and threatens to murder him if Goku doesn’t kill 100 humans within the next 24 hours. Goku decides to team up with his arch-enemy Piccolo, who was also defeated by Raditz in an earlier encounter, in order to defeat him and save his son. During the battle, Gohan’s rage momentarily makes him stronger than Piccolo and Goku as he attacks Raditz to protect his father. The battle ends with Goku restraining Raditz so that Piccolo can hit them with a deadly move called Special Beam Cannon, mortally wounding them both.

One piece The series focuses on Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who, inspired by his childhood idol and powerful pirate “Red Haired” Shanks, sets off on a journey from the East Blue Sea to find the titular treasure and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates. In an effort to organize his own crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy rescues and befriends a swordsman named Roronoa Zoro, and they head off in search of the One Piece. They are joined in their journey by Nami, a navigator and thief; Usopp, a sniper and a pathological liar; and Vinsmoke Sanji, a perverted chef. They acquire a ship named the Going Merry] and engage in confrontations with notorious pirates of the East Blue. As Luffy and his crew set out on their adventures, others join the crew later in the series, including Tony Tony Chopper, a doctor and anthropomorphized reindeer; Nico Robin, an archaeologist and former assassin; Franky, a cyborg shipwright; Brook, a skeletal musician and swordsman; and Jimbei, a fish-man helmsman and former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Once the Going Merry becomes damaged beyond repair, the Straw Hat Pirates acquire a new ship named the Thousand Sunny.[Jp 3] Together, they encounter other pirates, bounty hunters, criminal organizations, revolutionaries, secret agents and soldiers of the corrupt World Government, and various other friends and foes, as they sail the seas in pursuit of their dreams in finding the one piece.

Is anime and star wars a good mix??

September 22, 2021, a new show is realized into the galactic fanbase and cinema of Star Wars, Information about this new show is everywhere, including the Wookiepedia and StarWars.com Many people have mixed feelings about the show and if this could be a terrible idea, meaning, they basically… they mixed Star Wars and anime Those who dislike anime most likely think that this new show won’t work and no one will watch it but on the other hand, those who like anime probably think this could work and will open up gates for new shows following Visions, AnimePersonally… I thought the first episode was very confusing UNTIL I read the 5 highlights of episode one-Visions, go read it, it’s on StarWars.com.

SPOILER ALERT

Episode one- The Duel

The first episode of Star Wars visions features a new hero in the show, Ronin. Ronin is a Jedi-like character who has a red lightsaber, this shocking discovery when Ronin starts to fight the “The Duel” Probably made a lot of viewers go, hol’ up… What?? It made me just.. Sit there for a second and think, why would a sith fight another sith without reason?? We all know about lord Sidious killing off his old apprentices when he finds a new stronger one but I don’t think we realize how many sith there are in the StarWars galaxy so the whole “only two sith there are, a master and an apprentice.” -Yoda, is sort of… a rule not followed, but sort of.

The Duel is a new sith character with… probably one of the craziest lightsabers I have ever seen since Kylo Ren’s “Crackly cross blades” as quoted from the LEGO holiday special, the lightsaber would be like the design of a wagasa but instead of wood its metal, and instead of beautiful little cherry blossom flowers, it has about 8 spinning sabers that could and will cut you in half in less than a second. The Duel was very ready to cut down Ronin but he stops the blade by using force, the Duel thinks he’s a Jedi but surprises her with the red blade of his samurai sword-type lightsaber. He also claims he is not a Jedi but a sith even though all sith wouldn’t have helped the village, but rather… burned it down along with all its inhabitants.

Episode two- Tatooine Rhapsody

Sadly, I have not had the time to finish the episode myself, but StarWars.com has been ever so helpful.

Tatooine Rhapsody features a young Jedi who is running across a battlefield, suddenly he reaches a ledge and falls, landing through the ceiling of a building of sorts where he finds his new job as a singer for a band called the Rolling Gales. He goes with this band who travels to a bunch of different places around the planet and end up having to move systems once they have a run-in with Boba Fett, a notorious bounty hunter known throughout basically all of the galaxy. One thing- in my opinion, the art style in this specific episode sort of makes Boba and his crew look like 6-year-olds,

The way they did him makes him look a lot shorter, his helmet is shorter and it doesn’t make him look as scary as he should like back in the original movies… at least he’s not headless.

Boba Fett’s crew also makes them look like a little band of x6-year-olds saying to “get off their spaceship” at the park.

The episode is great, I think the whole series has potential. Tatooine Rhapsody might not be my favorite but it seems like the episodes get better and more suspenseful as you go through the series and I have some hope for it. May the force be with you.
