Why Park City ski resort is the best in Utah.

Why Park City ski resort is the best in Utah.

Utah claims to have the best snow in the world, so they’re going to have many different Ski resorts, but to me Park City is the best one. From the lovely weather, to great terrain, it can’t get much better. There are many great and unique things about the resort that I want to share. So here’s why Park City ski resort is the best:

Great Terrian

Jupiter Peak, Park City

Park City ski resort has a wide range of terrain, and ways to ride the mountain. From flat easy bunny hills, to steep rocky back-country, it’s for everyone. If you’re a new rider there are plenty of greens, and easy hills to learn on. If you are immediate, Park City’s got you too! There’s also a lot of blues, and easy blacks. Even if you’re a professional, or expert at skiing, there’s very challenging runs at the top of the mountain that you can go down. In addition, for all the free-ride skiers/snowboarders there’s a great terrain park on both sides of the mountain, with huge jumps, half-pipes, and jib sections. Park City’s terrain isn’t the only good thing about it, their lodges and resorts are amazing too!

World-Class Resort

Park City Ski Resort home Lodge

Park City’s actual resort is world class. People come from all over the world to ski and vacation there. Park City being my home mountain, I have met many people from all over the country, and even the world, who came to ski here. The lodges have many restaurants inside them, and great views of the mountain. Being able to chill in one of the resort pools, or hot tubs, is the best feeling after a long day on the slopes. Also the workers and people that you’ll be with and meet in the resort, and on the slopes is another reason why Park City is the best Ski resort.

The people

Happy workers in the lift line

At Park City people are very kind, joyful, and excited. When you go out to the town there’s just a great feel about it! And when you’re on the slopes, people are usually very kind and everyone’s just enjoying themselves and skiing. The teachers for new skiers/snowboarders are also very helpful, and teach you how to correctly go down the mountain. Having a fun atmosphere while going skiing is half the fun. That’s a huge factor as to why this resort is the best. But how convenient is going to Park City?

Convenience

Park City’s mountain town

Park City is located in, well Park City of course. That’s about 38 minutes away from Salt Lake City airport. So it’s really not far if you’re flying in. Park City is a small mountain town, so it’s not gonna be in a major city like Provo, or Salt Lake. There are two sides of the resort: Park City, and Deer Valley. You can go to both sides depending on the pass you are using, but if you are trying to ski to the other side it will take you about 20 to 40-ish minutes if you’re slower. I’ve been to both sides, and they are both great. You can park on either side if you are planning to just ski there. With that being said, it’s a pretty convenient place to go skiing.

All these reasons are showing why Park City Ski resort is the best one in Utah. It was voted as the number one resort in the country, in 2021. The terrain is amazing here, as well as the people and workers. The lodges and resorts you can stay in are outstanding, and very enjoyable. The convenience of where it’s located, and its two sides are also very beneficial. All in all, Park City Ski resort is the best in Utah.

Eddie The Eagle

Eddie The Eagle

Eddie the Eagle is a movie that came out in early 2016 and well those who watched loved it. With a rating of 82% rotten tomatoes. 92% of people who watched it said they liked it and I agree. Though it’s hard to believe this is actually a true story.

Michel Edwards or “Eddie the Eagle” was born December 5 1963.  Since a very young age he wanted to join the olympics. He worked hard and tried many sports. He joined the downhill ski team in Britain. But they sadly kicked him off of the team.

The start of ski jumping

Eddie still didn’t give up on his dreams and his dad thought he was crazy. His mom supported everything he did. He packed up his stuff and headed to  Garmisch- Partenkirchen Germany and began to train. One of the days he went off the 40 meter jump and got injured. He ended up in the hospital for multiple days. After training more and more he got into the 1988 winter olympics in calgary canada.

1988 olympics

Eddie was the first olympic ski jumper from Britain since 1928. He got to the winter olympics and came last place in the 70 meter jump and everyone told him not to do the 90 meter and so he did. He came in last place in that too. But everyone still made him feel like a winner. The  crowd cheered him on and congratulated him.

Fun Facts

  • Eddie did actually practice on the top of his mom’s car.
  • An interviewer asked him what he liked to be called. Eddie Edwards? Eddie the Eagle. He responded with “It doesn’t matter, in the 25 years of my life i’ve been called all sorts of things.
  • In a press conference Eddie announced “I’m not deluded. I know there are plenty of athletes more deserving of publicity than me. And I would like to apologise if my silly antics have cast a shadow over their achievements. I also know I was messing around after the 70 meter jump the other day. I was very excited. But I take jumping very seriously. In fact, I love it. I love it very nearly as much as proving people wrong.”

I had no money, no training facilities, no snow, no ski jumps, no trainer, but I still managed to ski jump for my country – and getting there was my gold medal.”

Utah should Host the Olympics

Utah Should Host The Olympics

Hockey, skiing, curling, and bobsledding what do all these have in common.Well they are all winter Olympics, and in 2002 Utah hosted the winter Olympics in all of these events. We had skiers floating down the mountain snowboarders cascading down the half pipe and the best. Hockey players putting as much power as they possibly can going at speeds of up to 25.5 mph, and getting hit on the boards with no mercy. For forty five hole seconds and then you get forty five seconds to rest.  you do it over and over again until you think you can’t do it anymore you do it another six times just to make sure you don’t forget how powerful your brain is to put up with that exhaustion!

Utah Can Bring The World Together

That is the significance of the Olympics. The whole world comes together and we laugh and cry together, have hopes and dreams together, we hate each other, we love each other and. Do you know what that sounds like that sounds like a great big family. But at the end of the day that is what we are a great big family. And that is the Olympics and in two thousand and two Utah did that. We got the whole world together on our soil, we had a great big family reunion and that was a great time to have the Olympics. But I digress now what we did was grate, but it took some hard work wait did i say some? I meant a lot of work Utah had a deadline. to meet and if we did not meet that deadline the. Whole Olympics would not happen so we got our pioneer spirit together. To bring this wonder full thing that is almost holy in a way.  But we did it nonetheless and in 2002 the world came to us in one grate big family.

We Are Prepared

You can’t have your cake and eat it too? It takes 5 billion dollars and more to host the Olympics. But Utah is different it’ll take only 1.2 billion dollars to host the Olympics.  That is about a fifth of the cost, and the Olympics make 45 billion dollars. So what is the problem? Well people hate the traffic that it brings, and they are scared that their taxes will go up, but what idiotic people that think that?  like a twenty dollar difference in your taxis, you spend twenty dollars on most of your clothes. Oh and the traffic would only be bad for the Olympics we all ready have the facilitates people no construction and no hassle. So check the facts and I can see how some people might think that, but come on. Why not read more than you wright listen more than you talk and don’t raise your voice raise your argument.

we Need Utah More Than Ever

OK as I digress I just want to say, that what is so bad about bringing the world together, as one great big family. Let Utah be the state that brings the world together. You don’t know what will happen in ten years look we see in history, WWI it was the war to end all wars but 21 years later WWII started and that is not a long time. That war was so bad that enemies said that they. Were taking it too far and made rules they made rules for war like it was some kind of game. War itself was changed so close to the wars end, and maybe just maybe we as a state can help the world continue on a grate path.
