Why Joker Is The Best Movie Of All Time

Spoiler Alert: Watch the movie before you read this

Joker is the comic book movie we all need.

Introduction

2019 felt like it was going to be a bit of a slower year entertainment wise until something released in the theaters. It was a comic book film called Joker and I kind of knew the premise of the character from previous installments into the D.C universe, especially the second installment to the Dark Knight trilogy: The Dark Knight with Heth Ledger playing the main villain and actually winning an academy award for his role. So, obviously the public was going to have mixed opinions now because Ledger died so they needed someone new to come into the universe. Well, in my opinion Joaquin Phoenix is a lot better.

It’s kind of funny because when this movie was first released to the theaters I wasn’t very interested in it because at the time I was in the 6th grade and the movie had an R rating, so the only chance I had to see the movie would be if my parents saw t first and they would have to think that it wouldn’t have anything too bad in it. Luckily, a few weeks later we got ahold of it on a streaming service and I was so hyped to watch it because I thought it was going to be so cool to kind of see a more emotional take on this character. I think this movie has a really good message that is somewhere along the lines of: Just be nice to people because you don’t know what might be going on in the rest of their life.

The Movie

Just a warning to everybody who might red this article that this movie is definitely not for everyone. If you do not feel comfortable about topics such as Mental Health Disorders or Bullying then you might find this movie to be very disturbing, with a few violent moments that include shooting and fighting with riots. To me, this movie was the perfect kind of disturbing to the point where I feel like what happens to Arthur could actually happen to someone in real life, and that’s really something we didn’t get in the previous film starring Heath Ledger. Arthur’s breaking point in the movie was when he approaches Thomas Wayne in a bathroom and tells him that he thinks that he might be his son, but then things start to get crazy when Wayne says that Arthur’s mom adopted him and he actually doesn’t know who his real parents are. Arthur, then proceeds to go to Arkham Asylum where he finds his mothers old psychiatric profile that included that she et her boyfriend abuse Arthur when he was a little boy. This is very important at the time because this means he suffered brain damage which explains his laughing disorder. In a mask of rage in which we see the last of Arthur Fleck for the rest of the movie we see him go confront his mother in her hospital bed and he proceeds to murder her via suffocation with a pillow.

After that he basically becomes Joker and starts to take over Gotham City. I’ll leave it at that so you guys can see it for yourself.

Marvel Vs DC: Who Wins?

Marvel Vs DC: Who Wins?

Overview

When these universes started getting adapted from the comics to the big screen of film a lot of people had mixed opinions on which was better. I feel like Marvel was off to a really hot start when they had the Infinity Saga (phases 1-3) end with the massive hits of Avengers: Infinity War  and Avengers: Endgame. DC in my opinion has just begun heating up and I feel like it has already passed Marvel since 2020. With films like The Suicide Squad, The Joker, and The Batman all being massive hits in my household and films we can watch over and over again.

Marvel

Like I said in the intro, I think that this universe started off really well and smooth, it was just the later projects that have been kind of discouraging. The better films being: Thor Ragnarok, Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity war, and of course Captain America: Civil War. These movies were original at the time and I really loved the heroes that were portrayed in these movies.

However, there is a big problem when it comes to the recently released phase 4 that just ended. Phase 4 has a runtime that is greater than all of the phases (1-3) that came before it COMBINED! This is by far the longest phases and it’s not even close. Most of the added runtime came from shows on Disney+ like Hawkeye, WandaVision, and my favorite Loki. These were one season (so far) tv shows that usually consisted of 8 45-60 minute episodes. That would add a maximum of 8 hours per show!

Personally I think it would kind of suck to be a Marvel fan and then Disney+ starts having some very important content that is only available on that platform. For example if you haven’t see Loki the end credits scenes of the new movie: Ant Man And The Wasp: Quantamania will nt make sense at all because you thought Loki died in Avengers: Infinity War.

Marvel needs to slow down and make more quality content, but I would like to see some of those shows on Disney+ continued into the future of the MCU. I would like to see a disney+ show of the multiverse more explored and kind of explained. So, I’m hoping when the 2nd season of What If come out soon that they will explore more recent topics about Kang. I find his character to be very interesting.

DC

This universe started off very slow for me. Although, looking back on this now I realize my mistakes. I was so into the Marvel Universe that I never gave te Dark Knight trilogy a chance, and I just watched the first two movies a few weeks ago and I was so surprised that I hadn’t found time to watch them before. I’m hoping to watch the Dark Knight Rises soon.

With the new film the Joker I was a lot more happy with this movie because of the darkness incorporated with it. This movie didn’t feel like a villains movie it felt like a solemn depressing origin story to a broken man. I like that it kind of shows that Bruce Wayne had it super good and his dad treated Arthur very bad. I hope people start making more movies like this because it shows how the heroes aren’t heroes for everyone and there is more than one perspective to everything.

The Suicide Squad was crazy good too. I was expecting it to be kind of normal kind of like the first movie was but this is so much better. This is a perfect blend of comedy and storytelling and gory action. The entire movie is kind of a joke: obviously with the main bad guy being a giant starfish. I still thought there were some good serious moments filtered here in there that explored the depths of loyalty and friendship.

I took a very long time to finally watch The Dark Knight. I can’t believe I waited this long, the Joker is the best villain of all time and no person on this planet can say any different even if they had good evidence.

Top 4 Horror Movies Of All Time

Top 4 Horror Movies Of All Time

Horror has been elevating year after year, and it’s only getting better.

Sinister

I watched this movie a few years ago, so it wasn’t really new to the public. I guess that this movie wasn’t even very popular back when it released. I watched this movie at 10 pm though, by myself! That was the second worst decision I have made with horror movies in my life. I’ll gt to the other mistake later in this article.

This movie is about a true crime writer and him and his family move into a house where a grisly crime has previously been committed. However, he forgot the part where he warns his family that the place might be dangerous.  The bad guy in this movie is probably one of my favorites because he’s super mysterious and we never really see him for a prolonged amount of time.

This is probably the 2nd scariest movie o

n this list so I totally recommend it, just try not to watch it after 9:00 pm.

The Conjuring

This movie was an instant classic for me and my family once we watched it. This is usually a go to if we want a movie to not really pay attention to, but to have in the background.

This movie was really scary when I was a lot younger and I didn’t know the jump scares very well. It’s not as bad anymore however because I have seen it s much.

Hereditary

This movie is about a grandma who curses her family right before she dies with her creepy little cult. This movie s mostly in the families very dark house and it get worse and worse continuously. I watched this for the first time in the middle of the night and I didn’t know what to expect, so when I watched it I was basically squinting the entire time or fear of jump scares.

I just barely watched this movie and the only reason I watched it was because I though the cover looked scary. And boy, if you love little kids do not watch this movie. This movie is about a clown who literally eats kid and kills them in gruesome ways. I just liked this movie because of the original idea and I really liked the character development.

Why Jordan Peele is the best Movie Director of this generation.

Why Jordan Peele is the best Movie Director of this generation.

When I was first introduced to Jordan Peele’s first movie Get Out, I was kind of just expecting another horror movie that was okay. What I found out after the end of that movie was amazing. This movie was not just a movie it was more of a political statement on racism in America and I loved that.

From then on I remembered the name Jordan Peele so when I saw the trailer of Us I was hyped because it was the same director and same genre. I watched this movie with a lot higher expectation than Get Out and it was super good still.

It’s more of a take on different social classes and how we treat people way too different purely based on where their situation is socially in America. It’s about an exact clone of every single person in the world coming up from the sewers and taking over because they think they deserve to have all of the benefits of lying above ground because they never have before.

Then, Jordan came out with Nope which I didn’t see until after my parents and they had mixed thoughts about it so I was kind of scared going into the theaters for that one. The trailer looked really good so I was trying to be as positive as possible. When the credits began I realized that my mom was completely wrong this movie is an instant classic for me. This movie has the perfect actor for the main role Daniel Kaluuya is probably my favorite actor in the world right now.

Kaluuya was also the main character in Get Out, so I think that Jordan and him get along really well and they’ve made some very good movies together. The thing about these movies that separates them though is the fact that they are considered horror movies but there isn’t ever really a time where you’re downright scared and each movie has a comedic sense to it too that makes it a perfect horror comedy.

The best thing about watching his movies is the process of your brain trying to discover what Jordan is trying to represent through the big screen and if you dive really deep into his work it’s insane. He also represents black people really well and he seems to be a really intelligent person with some of the stuff he puts into these films. Now that I’ve said so much about him let’s get into my favorite film Get Out.

Get Out

Like I said I didn’t know what to expect from this movie when it first came out so I wasn’t really expecting to see anything astonishing. Well I probably should’ve read some reviews because this was an insane movie.

You don’t understand all of the things and topics Jordan is trying to represent at first but I’ve re-watched this movie too many times to count and every single time I’ve noticed new things that are really amazing about the thing Jordan is trying to represent, and that would be modern

There’s a perfect scene in this movie where Chris and Rose are watching out of the window as the entire family drives through the trees into the driveway, and I didn’t notice this until I watched the movie again but it was hinting at the ending the entire time. All of Roses family are white people and they all drove into the driveway in really nice black cars.

So, with the ending revealing that they use black people for their bodies and physical advantages this kind of went under the radar until you re-watch it, this is why I would suggest re-watching all of his work I’m writing about in this article. There are two maids and housekeepers that the family has and they act very abnormal for the entire movie and it keeps you guessing on what’s wrong with them.

Well, it kind of tells you because it shows that they’re both black and when the movies big twist is revealed you realize that these housekeepers are actually Roses grandparents in the kidnapped peoples bodies and it’s very rewarding.

With all of this being said I have watched so many Youtube videos of different people trying to interpret the movies message and theme and they all kind of see it in a different way, and I’ve really appreciated all of those because it allows me to see the movie in a different way and I will always love that.

Spoiler Alert

The ending to this movie is so freaking good it ends with Chris being hunted by the family and he barely escapes and he realizes Rose was tricking him the entire time and she’s going to try and use him for his athletic body. He found this out because he found a bunch of pictures of Rose with her past black boyfriends. Well this doesn’t make sense because earlier in the movie she said that he’s the first black guy she’s ever dated and her parent don’t know, so that’s kind of the twist that jump-starts the ending phase of the movie.
