5 BEST tips for men to STAND OUT MORE

5 BEST tips for men to STAND OUT MORE

It’s not hard to find yourself looking at a male model on the cover of Vogue or GQ, and thinking, “this guy is so fancy and gets all the ladies”. But in reality, he’s not much different from you. It’s just the way he chooses to look and come off to others is different from you. Everyone is different in personality and the way they look, but I believe everyone can look good. Some are better or easier than others, but it’s very simple to look good and appeal to others as a “model”. Boys, I got you. Today, I’m going to give you 5 simple tips to make you stand out from the crowd and make you a cleaner-looking person (in no particular order).

Accessories

A very subtle, yet clean and effective part of your game that not enough people consider enough. Little details can make or break the way you look. Wearing simple bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses, watches, and chains can compliment the way you look. They add a little amount of pop to what you already have and make you look fancy and classy. Without accessories in your arsenal, it almost makes it feel like something is missing from what you are wearing, and wearing subtle accessories completes your outfit. Accessories are something that I would highly recommend adding to your game. Here is a link to the necklace I have: Chain with number pendant.

Smell

People will always remember you based on what you smell like, and that will also decide if they like you or not. It’s time you throw away the crappy AXE body spray and go get some real cologne. Michael Jordan, Paris, Acqua Di Gio, even Versace if you are looking for a high-quality cologne. Imagine being a girl and going on a date with a guy you like, and he smells like he just got done dumpster diving at the pizza shop across the street. It would be awful, right? It’s very important to smell as good as possible to attract others to you and want to be next to you. When applying cologne, spray it on the back of both of your hands, your chest, and the back of your neck. By doing this, the cologne is getting on your skin as opposed to your clothes. It will stick and stay on your skin, and get messed up if it’s on your clothing. I use this Versace Eros cologne.

Fashion/Dress

People will judge you at first strictly based on what you dress like. If you look like crap, they most likely will not even consider getting to know you better or be interested in you. Wearing outfits that look clean and match will turn heads and interest others. There are all kinds of different types of clothes and ways to wear them, and that’s where it gets fun. Mixing and matching outfits based on what you like is fun and switching it up often will always give people a fresh look at you. A person who is more athleisure may want to invest in some PacSun shorts and T-Shirts, as well as hoodies. Someone who likes more baggy clothes will want to look into hoodies, skater pants from Dickies, shoes from Jordan and Nike, the options are limitless.

The shoe game is also essential, a person who rocks dirty shoes will not get nearly as much interest and respect from others as they should. Make sure you keep it simple and clean and try not to overdo it. Jordan has always been a staple in the shoe game, and they have hundreds upon hundreds of pairs of shoes to pick from for roughly $125-$150. Vans is another big shoe brand, but they are much cheaper, roughly $30-$60 for some very good quality shoes.

Lastly, the hat game. Hats are something I pride myself in, I tend to buy a lot of hats for around $45-$50 every month. I pick from all different colors and designs so I can mix and match them with different outfits. Wearing and buying multiple items of the same color will not add flair and variety to your outfits. From pink to black, I have many different fitted hats, they add a very unique part to an outfit I don’t think people think about enough.

There are all kinds of ways to look good depending on aesthetic and body type that I won’t get into, but the fashion game is arguably the most important key to standing out.

Hygiene

Hygiene should be a basic essential in everyone’s look. Think of it as a foundation for a house, you should be building everything off of hygiene. I know that part of it is genetics, and not everyone will end up looking like Michael B Jordan, but keeping your skin and hair healthy can be done easily. Shampooing your hair every other day and applying conditioner to it will keep it in good shape. Also getting a haircut once a month is important, maintaining shape and shaping up your head will refresh everyone’s look at you and clean you up again. Making sure to shave and trim up your mustache and/or beard is necessary, and if you are looking to grow out a beard or mustache, keeping that in good shape is important as well.

There are many different types of skin routines to pick from, some more effective and expensive than others, but they are all an option. Here is a 5-minute video from Alex Costa giving his basic skincare routine.

Showering every day at least once must not be skipped, especially if you tend to work out a lot. Showering will help with hair and skin, and refresh your whole body, and will make you feel a lot better as well. Also putting on deodorant to block out body odors from sweat is crucial. Girls smelling B.O. off of you will immediately give them the impression that you are unhygienic, and that is the last thing you want.

Body Build

A man who is bigger than everyone stands out in a crowd, and if you want to be that guy, you must be willing to work to get it. Going to the gym at least 3 times a week for an hour a day will help build muscle in your body and make you look better. Everyone is built differently, whether you are skinny or bigger built, but I believe everyone can get gains in the gym and build and develop muscle. Make sure to not work the same muscle back-to-back days, as you will need a full day for your muscles in a group to recover, so make sure you switch from the upper body to the lower body on back-to-back days at the gym. Also, girls take notice of veiny arms. They for whatever reason find it very attractive.

So there you have it, my 5 ways to clean up your appearance and look better. We live in a society where everyone judges eachother off of first looks and impressions, and in order to succeed that way, you must look clean and be presentable, and by following these tips, they will help you achieve that.

6 Easy Hairstyles

6 Easy Hairstyles

Doing your hair can always be a struggle at some point. But with these tips, you should be able to have flawless hair every day.

Hair style #1: Slick back pony tail

Let’s start with the hairstyles for when you’re in a rush to get out the door. The basic slick back ponytail is just a great option for in a rush. It’s so easy to do and it looks amazing. You’re going to need a comb (optional), a brush, hairspray, and if you have curtain bangs that you don’t want hanging out, you’l need bobby pins as well. The first step, take your comb and part your hair however you want, I prefer a middle part. The second step, take your hairspray and spray it all over. In the last step, take your brush and slick it back and tie it back.

Hair style #2: Half up messy bun

For the second hairstyle, this is so simple but it’s so pretty. It’s the boho half up messy bun. First, pull out your front pieces to frame your face. Second, right next to your front pieces do a braid on each side of your hair. Third, pull the braids back adding a little bit of your hair with the braids in the little amount of hair that you pull out. Lastly, tie it back in a loop bun with a hair tie.

Hair style #3: Bubble braid

For the third hairstyle let’s talk about the classic but adorable bubble braid. This hairstyle seems so complicated at times but it’s way easier than you might think and it takes no longer than 3-5 minutes. First, you pull out those front pieces to frame your face. Sometimes you might think it’s weird to pull out your front pieces but just try it. I promise that it looks so much better. Here’s an optional step. You can curl your hair before this if you want more volume in your bubble braids. Second, take a normal hair type and put your hair in a ponytail. Once it is in the ponytail pull the ponytail a little bit to loosen it up. Third, take as many little elastics as you need and tie your hair in bubbles down your hair. Last, puff out each of your bubbles.

Hair style #4: Curling techniques

Let’s move on to different ways to curl your hair. You can curl your hair with a beach waver, a wand curling iron, a basic clamp curling iron, and many more.

Curling technique #1: Wand

I’m going to talk about the wand first because that’s the easiest way to curl your hair. Here’s how you do it. First, brush your hair out and apply a heat protectant to your hair. Heat protectant is necessary because you could risk frying your hair. Second, section off your hair into two to three sections. Third, take about one inch of your hair and start curling. Hold your barrel parallel to your face and wrap your hair starting from the bottom of the wand moving to the top of the wand. Hold that for as long as necessary. Make sure that the heat on your curling iron is turned up as high as you need it, depending on your hair type. Once you’re ready to take your curl out, tip your wand upside down and release the curl. If you’re looking for a tighter curl let the curl cool down in your palm before dropping it all the way. For more of a loose curl drop the curl right away. Last, apply hairspray and brush your hair with a wide-toothed comb.

Curling technique #2: Beach Waver

Lastly, the curling iron that I’m going to talk about is the beach waver. Now, this isn’t a curling iron because of how it looks but it makes beautiful beach waves. Which sometimes looks better in your hair than a curling iron. The first step on how to do it is to apply a heat protector to your hair. This is a very important step if you don’t want to risk having fried hair. Second step, section off your hair. This step just makes it easier to do so your other hair isn’t in the way while you’re waving your hair. If you have thick hair do it in a little more than four sections. The third step, power up your waver and begin. In the last step, open your clamp to your waver and wave it from top to bottom. After you have finished one section do the rest and boom you’re done! Avoid brushing your hair when you’re done waiving it.

Ways to do your hair

Ways to do your hair

People want to do their hair but they either don’t have time to do it or they just don’t know how to do it. I am going to explain how to do the hairstyles and what you’ll need and how it should look when you’re done.

Hairstyle #1: Messy bun

First is a simple 3 min messy bun that is cute and easy! When you’re done it should be a full bun that looks cute and easy. For this 3 min simple cute messy bun you’re going to need, Hair spray, a volume-boosting product like a mousse, shiny spray or leave-in conditioner, bobby pins, or clips, and finally a comb. The first step you are going to do is you need to make sure that you have dry hair. Now Before you begin on the bun give your hair some added texture. Use mousse and or any volume booster. If you have thin hair you don’t want to use a lot of mousse or volume-booster, now on the other hand if you have curly or thick hair you will want to use a little bit more on your hair. Now we can finally start on the bun, first, gather your hair and put it in a high-ponytail. For the last loop instead of pulling it all the way through, leave the ends sticking out towards your face. Now you need to grab the ends of the parts that are sticking up and wrap them around your ponytail ( this is going to be making the bun shape). Now pin the loop on the top of your head, Now play with the shape of the bun till you get what you want it to look like.

Hairstyle#2:Non-product messy bun

Now if you don’t want to have the products to use for the messy bun, here is the same hairstyle that looks the same but you don’t have to use all the products to make it look the same. For this, you are going to need 2 hair ties, a teasing comb, and bobby pins. The first step flips your hair upside down and try to smooth it out, then put it in a ponytail. Same as last time, don’t poll it all the way through and leave the front leaving the ends sticking up. Grab the piece that we left out and bring it around the ponytail and shape it till you like the way it looks. After you get the shape you like the look of your bun, now pin it in place.

Hairstyle #3: Space buns

Next, let’s do a hairstyle that may take a little bit longer to do that is super cute. Two cute space buns! You are going to need a comb, 4 hair ties, hair spray, and water. Now get your hair wet but not too wet. Split your hair in half, and put your hair in a high side ponytail, you will want to use water and a comb to make sure that it is smoothed out as best as you can(Make sure that then you are making the ponytail that you pull it all the way through and you don’t leave anything out). By this point, you should have two high ponytails that are smoothed out and have no bums in your hair. If you do this will make it look sloppy and not as cute as it should look. Next, you need to wrap the ponytail around the ponytail that you created. Then put the lat 2 hair ties on each one to hold it in place. Mess around with each bun to make it look the way you want it and they look somewhat even. After you get the shape of the bun that you won’t put in the bobby pins to make it stay in place.
That is all I have time for today! Hope you can try some of these hairstyles out.
