A Twinkie, also known as the”Golden sponge cake with creamy filling”, actually has its own national holiday. 

This delicious fun event occurs on April 6 every year. People all around the US give and share this wonderful treat.

The Twinkie was invented by a man named James Alexander Dewar in 1930. On April 6, 2012 was first celebrated. This day was believed to be the anniversary of this miraculous little treat.

February 11th is the day that America celebrates national don’t cry over spilt milk day. This is a strange but true crazy national holiday. In the olden days it was actually called national No weeping over shed milk but then it was changed to don’t cry over spilt milk.

We all love the holidays well, maybe not a scrooge but the majority of us love Christmas movies, right? If you’re anything like me and my family then you spend hours trying to find the perfect Christmas movie. I’m here to help and provide the top three Christmas movies you should watch this holiday season. There’s a big chance you will find a movie you’re guaranteed to love. As a disclaimer, this is my opinion and not based on popularity just because sometimes the classics aren’t as fun and magical. So here are the top 3 best and most magical movies.

 

Elf

I had to because this movie is iconic in my book and gets you in the holiday season. This 2003 movie is rated PG and the box office made 223.3$ million. The writer is David Berenbaum and he did a fantastic job. If for some reason you’re living under a rock, the movie is about this boy who was put up for adoption and got adopted by an elf. He lived in Santa’s village all his life and never fit in. one day he found out he was adopted so he traveled across the earth to find his biological father in New York. He adventures in New York finds love and has new experiences all as well dressed as an elf. He has to find that things in New York don’t work the same in Santa’s workshop. Does he find his dad? What risks will he have to take? Who is the love interest? I probably couldn’t explain in words how amazing this Christmas movie is. It has the perfect mix of comedy, magic, and wholesomeness. In my opinion, this is the best Christmas movie ever. You can find this movie on Hulu, prime, sling, and Apple TV.

 

Noelle

This movie is just oh so magical. Made in 2019 the Disney original movie made its first spark. Noelle is a comedy, family, fantasy wholesomeness type movie. It’s about these two siblings who are the children of Santa. The oldest son is Nick Kringle and he’s planning on being Santa Claus. his sister runs everything even when nick is Santa but she makes pop-up Christmas cards for all the children. Santa Claus is under way too much stress with getting all the presents ready and landing on chimneys and being the new Santa Claus after his dad died. So his sister Noelle advises him to take a day trip somewhere to relax. The next morning Santa left with no one to help at the north pole. at this point now he’s been gone for a week. They’re going to need a new Santa but no one is good enough. How are they going to get him back? What happens next? Is Christmas canceled?

 

Home Alone

 The Christmas classic. We’ve probably all have heard or have seen this wonderful movie. This classic Christmas movie is for sure going to get you in a jolly mood. It’s sort of a wholesome family comedy movie. If for some strange reason you have not heard of this movie it’s about this family who goes on a family trip but forgets their son. Their family tries to get a hold of him but they can’t sense it’s the holidays. Some robbers are robbing their neighborhood. What does he do to stop the robbers? Does his family come back for him? Is this just a normal kid?.

Christmas is a special time of the year where most people spend it with family and/or friends. Some families go all out and make a huge Christmas breakfast, open all their presents and then go and see their loved ones. Some families might go out to eat and get very few presents, it’s different for every family. What makes this holiday so special you might ask. Well, some say it’s because you get to spend it with loved ones, some might say because of the gifts, it’s different to everyone. Everyone has their own opinions and experiences, but why is it that Christmas is such a special holiday?

 

What is Christmas?

Even though Christmas started as a European holiday, mostly celebrated by Christians, people from many different beliefs or cultures also celebrate Christmas. Christians celebrate this holiday to remember the death and resurrection of the son of God, Jesus Christ. Other cultures might celebrate this holiday for different reasons, but I think that the number one reason is that so many things go on sale. You can see that even though it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, and even before Halloween, stores now have Christmas-themed everything. Christmas is the Number one most celebrated Holiday in the world. Christmas means many different things, but the fact that it’s the Number One Most Celebrated holiday in The World is crazy. We normally think of Christmas like red, green, silver, and gold colors, a Christmas tree, hot chocolate, cookies, and snuggling while watching Christmas movies.

 

Why is it special?

Every holiday is special, but this holiday is all about families. Sure Thanksgiving is spent with family too, but Christmas is more than that to some people. Christmas can be to remember the good times with dead loved ones or to create more memories with the people you love most. Many people associate the color red with passionate love, extreme, and adventure, especially during Christmas. Of course, the color red means many different things, but these feelings remind us a lot about Christmas. Children might think of Christmas as extreme because they are all racing to see who has the most and/or better presents. On the other hand, the color green around Christmas time can mean calmness, money, good luck, and health. For adults, Green can be associated with money or good luck. Other colors like silver and gold around Christmas time can mean things like luxury, elegance, glamorous, and love. Colors can be a reason as to why people love this holiday, Even Mcdonald’s and other companies use colors to grab people’s attention or make a place feel more at home.

 

Colors can impact the way we feel and think of things. Christmas has a lot of happy colors (besides red) that make this holiday special. For kids, Christmas is the time of year that they really get a break from school and spend more time with their family too. Even adults get to take time off and see their relatives, go party or chill, and take advantage of this time of the year. Christmas is one of those holidays that you can gain a lot of weight and nobody will shame you for it (besides Halloween of course!). These are the top 7 best classic Christmas movies that you have to watch during Christmas, the polar express, the Grinch, Elf, The Santa Clause, Home Alone, a Christmas Story, and the Nutcracker And I am going to tell you why you have to watch these and what they are about.

 

The Polar Express

The polar express is an hour and forty-minute movie based on the 1985 children’s book the polar express. The story is about a young boy on Christmas eve who sees a train outside his window so he goes on a journey to visit Santa clause. That is just a brief description of that movie you will just have to watch it.

 

The Grinch

The Grinch is an hour and forty-five-minute movie made in 2000 and it is about a grumpy green man who hates Christmas because of his past. But then he wants to ruin it for the who’s so he stills Christmas by stilling their presents and everything Christmas they have but one special little girl thinks he is not bad. And thinks he can be a good person. At the end of it, his heart grows and he becomes happy once again. 

 

Elf

Elf is a 2003 family comedy. It’s an hour and 37-minute movie about a human named Buddy who grew up with elves and is one of Santa’s workers. He thinks he is an elf but then he overhears someone talking about him and how he is a human so he finds out who his dad is and he goes to find him. His dad does not want him and thinks he is just a crazy person but in the end, he and his dad are best buddies and he makes everyone believe in Santa once again.

 

The Santa Clause

Santa Claus the movie is a 1985 movie that is an hour and forty-seven-minute movie that is about a guy who is spending Christmas with his son who does not like him then they hear a thud and they go outside and Santa fell off the roof and died so he put on his suit and the reindeer take him back to the north pole. They try to explain that he is Santa now. He is really confused and then months go past and he starts to turn into Santa and his son is so excited. And everyone thinks he is crazy but then they realize that he is Santa Claus. There are 3 movies and they are amazing.

 

Home Alone

Home Alone is another family comedy that was made in 1990. It’s an hour and forty-three-minute long movie about a little boy who acts out on Christmas eve, so his parents make him sleep in the attic.his family leaves for the airport and forgets him. He always wishes his family would go away and when he wakes up in the morning they are gone and he is so happy his dream came true. But then two men try to rob the house. Then his family comes home and he is happy that he has a family.

 

A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story is a 1983 family comedy that is an hour and thirty-seven minutes long movie about a boy who wants a Red Ryder air rifle for Christmas. His mom says that he is going to shoot his eye out. but eventually gets the rifle. 

 

The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is a 2018 fantasy family movie that is an hour and forty minutes. It starts with a girl who loves being crafty and her mom passed away a while ago. She goes to her grandfather’s party and you have to follow your string to your present so she does and hers just keeps going but then she ends up in a different world and she got a key as her pregnant she doesn’t know what it is for but she goes to the kingdom and finds out her mom was the queen and she has t save the four realms from the sugar queen because she is trying to take over the kingdom.

  1. Sledding

             One thing to do during the holidays is sledding. Sledding is very fun and easy to do. All you need is a sled and find a hill with snow on it. If you don’t have snow it is not going to work. Sledding is fun for all ages not just little kids but even teens and adults. How you sled is you get your sled to go to a hill sit on your sled and then give yourself a little push and off you go down the hill.

  1. Baking

Another thing you can do is bake something like treats or dinner even. You can make sugar cookies and decorate them like Santa, snow man, or anything really. You could also make a cupcake with red, green, and white frosting or sprinkles. You could make dinner for your family. Make mashed potatoes, a roast, chicken, steak, even mac and cheese. What you make does not have to be something related to the holidays you can make anything. You could also make up your own recipes. 

 

  1.  Write a letter to someone

    You could also write a letter to someone. You could write a letter to a friend, siblings, parents, grandparent etc.. you tell them why you love them and how you’re grateful for them. You could also write a letter to Santa of what you want for christmas. Also, you could make your own letter out of paper and glue and coloring supplies. Making your own letter would probably mean more to the person you are giving your letter to. 

 

  1. Make a craft

          Another thing you could do is make craft. You could really make anything you want, it does not have to even be about Christmas. But if you do want to do it about Christmas here are some ideas. You could make Santa out of paper or even draw him. You make elves etc. All you need is paper, coloring stuff etc. this is super simple and easy to do with little kids.

 

  1. Get a picture with Santa

You could also take your kids and go get a picture with Santa. If you search up on google where to get a picture with Santa it will tell you where you can get a picture with Santa. Usually Santa is at malls a lot of the time or stores. Then your kids will have a picture to hang on their wall and remember when they met Santa.
