BUT HOW SHOULD IT END?

(If you haven’t seen the movie, don’t read! Contains MAJOR spoilers)

 

How DID Star Wars End?

In Star Wars, Episode 9, the republic sent their ships to a planet called Exicle to destroy the sith lord, emperor Palpatine. Rey figures out that she is Palpatine’s daughter, and then they fight. It takes a while, and Palpatine gets his power back after defeating both her and Kylo Ren. Unfortunately, he uses his lightning to destroy most of the republican ships. Then, He almost kills Kylo Ren. Rey and Palpatine fight and win, but Kylo Ren dies. This is the hard way.
First, let’s acknowledge some facts. First off, Rey can take a lightsaber from another point in the universe. If you’ve seen Episode 9, you know that Rey and Kylo Ren exchange lightsabers. So technically, Rey has infinite lightsabers.
Second, the force ghost Luke Skywalker is extremely powerful. His first trick is catching the lightsaber. Luke Skywalker appeared in front of the burning ship that belonged to Kylo Ren and caught the lightsaber that Rey threw. SO AN IMMORTAL BEING CAN HOLD A LIGHTSABER. The second trick he does is with his spaceship. It was in the depths of the ocean and he pulled it out. I will admit, it’s a cool connection to episodes 4, 5, and 6 where he trains with Yoda and Yoda pulls out the very same spaceship. Nevertheless, Luke Skywalker can ALSO use the force.
Third, we know that there are a LOT of Jedi Force Ghosts. In the Star Wars Series: Star Wars Rebels, the Jedi Knight Kanan Jarus explains more than once how over 10,000 Jedi Knights were protecting the galaxy.

So THIS is how Star Wars Should Have Ended

We already know that Rey has infinite lightsabers, and that force ghosts can use the force and hold lightsabers. Here’s how Star Wars should have ended:
First, Rey flies to Exicle. Lord Palpatine is there, sneering and complaining about how powerful he is. Next, an army of force ghosts appears from behind Rey. Over 10,000 of them. Rey then looks pulls out lightsabers from everywhere in the universe and hands them to the force ghosts. Then, the rest was up to the force ghosts. They could destroy the thing that’s keeping Palpatine alive, they could pile on him, suffocate him, do whatever, but they would win. That is how Star Wars should have ended.

Today flags are a big part of American culture, but how did this come to be? Why are Americans so obsessed with their 13 stripes and 50 stars? And do other countries share this trait?

A flag ripped down to its very core is a symbol on a stick. Usually, this symbol represents something but it doesn’t always have to. Today we use flags to represent a unified people such as the American flag representing that we Americans are united together as a country.

Flag History

I found it interesting that when I typed into google just broadly “Flag History” all I saw was the history of the American flag, the only other flag I found on the first page of Google was the Islamic flag’s history. To be honest, I couldn’t really find any other countries who treat the history of their flag so seriously, but what does this mean?

The oldest flag still here today is the one of Denmark. It’s called the Dannebrog and it goes back to the 13th century A.D. and was officially recognized as a national flag in 1625. The Dannebrog is red with a white Scandinavian cross The vertical part of the cross is shifted to the hoist side (the side closer to the pole). The flag was used as a civil flag and ensign, this means that the flag was purely to denote their nationality.

The Importance of Flags

When I looked to see if other ethnicities were as crazy for flags as Americans were, to my surprise they weren’t. After all those cool facts about their flag, a citizen of Denmark would only use it as a convenience to show people their nationality. However I think there is still more importance in flags, I see this in pirates.

Pirates are people who commit robbery or criminal violence via boat or sea typically with the goal of stealing cargo, these people are relevant because on their boats they would always fly a black flag. A “Jolly Roger” is the term used for a pirate flag flown to identify that the pirates were about to attack, basically rendering their flag as a symbol of terror. However, this flag didn’t really actually mean anything significant to the pirates.

What have we learned? Flags are just used for practical purposes. Sadly Americans are very weird in that they value their flag very highly. This doesn’t mean flags aren’t symbols and don’t mean something, they do it’s just that contrary to what I thought people normally don’t value their flags.

BYU could use a bye week

BYU could use a bye week

With their season now being an 8-0 season, they have been undefeated and there is no more use for any more games this season, but one thing they could use is a bye week. BYU has gone through a lot, some of them have been due to COVID-19 or others may have been due to injuries or cuts or bruises. A bye week is what BYU needs right now, (which means that they need a break from playing football) and this will hopefully help to heal the players up for the upcoming season, or what’s left of it. 

 

The hilly season

A lot has happened to BYU’s schedule this year, and some of them could’ve possibly caused BYU to not have a season this year, but thanks to Tom Holmoe, this season stayed put. BYU had a 10 game season which was kept thanks to Tom Holmoe. As said by KSL.com “With conferences and schools canceling almost daily amid the coronavirus pandemic, Holmoe deserves a medal for his accommodations to fit in a 10-game slate that has put the Cougars in a position for their first New Year’s Six bowl bid in the modern era, or at least since 1997.” As said by KSL.com Tom Holmoe does deserve a medal because of what he did to keep a 10 game season. This was very helpful to BYU because they then got a chance to come into this season and show people that they have worked hard this season and that they have earned respect from teams and people. Tom was also working to possibly add 1-2 more games, but as it came up to players on BYU getting injured and illness, head coach Kalani Sitake announced that they will be having a bye week from football.

 

The bye week

It was the Monday after that coach Kalani Sitake announced that Saturday would be an off day for them, and they would play no games on that Saturday. With that, some of the players think that they could fall behind in the season with this bye week, but it won’t likely happen with an 8-0 season. “But after seven-straight weeks of football, it’s time for a bye week. No matter the opponent.” BYU isn’t necessarily injured as much as they are tired. They more than anything just need to stay healthy and rest up during this bye week, so they can get feeling better and well-rested for what’s to come next.

 

Moreover, this bye week comes at a good time for BYU as more have been receiving injuries. With BYU’s running back Lopini Katoa rolling his ankle during the BYU vs Boise state game, he would’ve been out of this week’s game if they had not had this bye week. Moreover, everybody else should be fine and rested. Now as BYU is having a bye week, it would be nice to play a game that week too, but the truth is, “there aren’t a lot of opponents that could help the Cougars anymore”, as said by the College Football Playoff and its selection committee. Now as BYU has done a great job this season with their 8-0 undefeated season, they need a bye week or a break from football to get rested and heal up for their next game, and the rest of the season.

Stranger Things is a drama, mystery, science fiction, supernatural Netflix Original Tv show. It is based on a real lab and scientists that would do experiments on other people and weird and strange things would happen. All the actors on the show, specifically Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp who make the story come to life are a really big part of the show. They make Stranger Things come to life.

 

The Inspiration

Stranger Things is based on a real lab. The lab was called Montauk and people would go be paid and they say that they would do experiments on the people. There was a man named Alfred Bielek and he claimed that he was a part of the process. He said that a hole into hyperspace was formed because of these experiments and that the hole was a threat to “engulf part of the planet.” The only way he could save the world is by destroying all the tech in the lab. Also, later on, Bielek said that his brother was aging rapidly and it was all due to the lab accident and so the only way he could get his brother to stay alive is by going back in time and convincing his parents to have another baby then his brothers’ soul could transfer from his brother’s body to the other baby brothers body.

 

The Actors

All the actors on the show this was the show that launched them off into the acting world. One of the main characters on the show was played by the aspiring actress Millie Bobby Brown. On the show, she plays Eleven. A girl who was born with telekinesis and can move things with her mind. She was abducted from her mother and was raised with barely any human communication besides abusive in a way like she was a human experiment. She to most of the fans who watch the show is their favorite and she does a good job at acting her part although she does not have many lines she creates a character that is far more than words and the Duffer brothers (the craters of the show) love the ways she adds the little twitches in her neck when she uses her telekinesis. Another person that the whole cast and the Duffers love is Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers. Will is a boy who gets taken to the upside down and is kept there by a monster that they call a Demogorgon. Noah Schnapp does not have many lines in season one but the Duffers said “Hold on we have something big for you.” David Harbor (actor of Jim Hopper the police chief in the show) said that “When you are in a scene with him it’s almost like he’s not Schnapp he is Will Byers.“ The actors in the show make the show happen.

 

Conclusion

Stranger Things is a show that makes the 80’s come back to life. The actors make the story happen and of course, the way they found the story, and the inspiration is bazar. Stranger Things is a show that will always be a classic and always be a cliffhanger.

The NBA Championship Contenders

Since November 16, there have been quite a few surprise moves by NBA teams. Some of them include Chris Paul to the Phoenix Suns, or Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks. But these have been rumors for a while. These next few days with the draft and free agency coming up, there could be some new championship contenders. The Houston Rockets might not be a contender anymore, and send their most valuable player to Brooklyn, as the Nets get stronger. The Milwaukee Bucks might be able to keep Giannis with some new changes to their roster. Will the Utah Jazz finally live up to their expectations? Will the Warriors continue their dynasty, or will the battle of L.A. be as close as ever. We The North will try to become We The Champs, Boston will try again after a bunch of disappointing postseasons, and The Heat will try to go one step further than last season and win a ring. This article will talk about the real champion contenders of the 2020-21 NBA season.

 

As trading started on November 16, there have been some surprise trades. And a bunch more may be coming. Russell Westbrook reportedly wants out of Houston, and James Harden just turned down an extension with the Rockets. Harden has a mindset with Brooklyn or bust. And that will likely turn into a reality, making the Nets legitimate contenders with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. As for Westbrook, he may go to the Knicks, Mavs, or any team that wants him. 

 

Yesterday the Milwaukee Bucks traded Eric Bledsoe, George Hill, and sent them off to New Orleans in exchange for Jrue Holiday. They also traded for Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Sacramento Kings. Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked in a meeting if he is staying with the Bucks. He said “They need to make some changes if I do.” Right after that the Bucks got to work. They were good before but they just shut down during the playoffs. Milwaukee is trying to keep the MVP by making the Bucks a better team. It’s all or nothing for them this offseason.

 

The Utah Jazz just had their hearts broken on September 1st, after losing to the Nuggets in round one in game 7. They ended up giving up a 3-1 series lead even without Bojan Bogdanovic. Mike Conley played his best games with the Jazz so far this season in that series. Donovan Mitchell was carrying the Jazz with averaging forty something points and looking like MVP caliber. If Conley and Mitchell can keep playing like they did in the bubble, with Bogdanovic and Gobert by their sides, the Jazz could be good, like really good. If Donovan can keep averaging what he was, he could be an MVP candidate. If everything goes right, the Utah Jazz might be a very scary team and could very likely end up on top.

 

As all fans know, the Warriors have been the headline of NBA basketball for the last couple of years. Last year though, Kevin Durant left Golden State to join Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets. During the 2019 NBA finals, Klay Thompson tore his ACL. He was out the whole 2020 season, so that left everything up to Stephen Curry. Then in October, 2019, Curry broke his hand against the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors season was already going crappy but this made matters worse. But this season when the Splash Brothers are both healthy, they could have another title run, but this time with Andrew Wiggins on their side. The Warriors can be a scary team, and every NBA team knows that. So they are something you should watch out for.

 

The battle of Los Angeles is as close as ever. Both teams are championship contenders, but the Lakers however already have a ring and are trying to get another one. During the 2019 offseason, the Clippers signed Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. They ended up falling short of the conference finals and blowing a 3-1 lead on the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers had a great season, they won the NBA finals in 6 games against the Miami Heat. The Clippers are trying to follow in their rivals footsteps and that may be a real possibility, as for the Lakers, just keep doing what you are doing and you will be fine.

 

On June 13, the Toronto Raptors were NBA champs for the first time in franchise history. With Kawhi Leonard leading the way, Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry on his side, the North seemed unstoppable. The only thing getting in their way was the thought of Kawhi Leonard becoming a free agent after that season and leaving. He did, however, leave Toronto to become a Clipper that offseason. After that, it kind of seemed like the end of a good team. Many people thought that, but to their surprise, the Raptors didn’t go anywhere. They lost to the Boston Celtics in the 2nd round, but they plan to keep going. They are a team that can beat the crap out of some teams, they are a very scary team and they always put up a fight. Siakam is their leader now, along with Fred ValVleet and Kyle Lowry. This team is one of the best, and they plan to get better.

 

The Boston Celtics had Kyrie Irving, lost in the Conference Finals. They have Kemba Walker, and lost in the Conference Finals. The Celtics can be good, when they play well. They have a bunch of stars, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, and Kemba Walker. Hayward though wants out of Boston. And there are some rumors that the Celtics are looking to trade Kemba, if they do trade, and get something good, then they could be a title team. But, they already are. They could win this next championship. I think they just need to adjust some things and they could be really good. They might make some moves this offseason, and try once again to make it to the finals. But for now, if they play as a team and play well, I’d consider them as championship contenders.

 

The Miami Heat were a surprise team last year. They killed in the playoffs. But in the finals, they ended up losing in 6 games. With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, this dynamic duo is very scary. They have some young stars like Derrick Jones Jr., Tyler Herro, and Duncan Robinson. Their veteran players are Goran Dragic, Jae Crowder, and Andre Iguodala. This whole team has good chemistry. They are really good, and they plan to go one step further this season and win a ring. 

 

This upcoming NBA season might be one of the most exciting and competitive seasons the NBA has ever seen. There are many great teams out there but these are the ones that you should pay attention to. The winners could end up being from the city of Milwaukee, to the beaches of Los Angeles. Who knows, the Warriors might get another ring, or the Utah Jazz could get their first. The Raptors might be champs again, and the Celtics will try yet again, while the Heat try to fly past everybody again in the playoffs. This NBA season will be full of surprises and already is.

5 things to do during the holidays
  1. Sledding

             One thing to do during the holidays is sledding. Sledding is very fun and easy to do. All you need is a sled and find a hill with snow on it. If you don’t have snow it is not going to work. Sledding is fun for all ages not just little kids but even teens and adults. How you sled is you get your sled to go to a hill sit on your sled and then give yourself a little push and off you go down the hill.

  1. Baking

Another thing you can do is bake something like treats or dinner even. You can make sugar cookies and decorate them like Santa, snow man, or anything really. You could also make a cupcake with red, green, and white frosting or sprinkles. You could make dinner for your family. Make mashed potatoes, a roast, chicken, steak, even mac and cheese. What you make does not have to be something related to the holidays you can make anything. You could also make up your own recipes. 

 

  1.  Write a letter to someone

    You could also write a letter to someone. You could write a letter to a friend, siblings, parents, grandparent etc.. you tell them why you love them and how you’re grateful for them. You could also write a letter to Santa of what you want for christmas. Also, you could make your own letter out of paper and glue and coloring supplies. Making your own letter would probably mean more to the person you are giving your letter to. 

 

  1. Make a craft

          Another thing you could do is make craft. You could really make anything you want, it does not have to even be about Christmas. But if you do want to do it about Christmas here are some ideas. You could make Santa out of paper or even draw him. You make elves etc. All you need is paper, coloring stuff etc. this is super simple and easy to do with little kids.

 

  1. Get a picture with Santa

You could also take your kids and go get a picture with Santa. If you search up on google where to get a picture with Santa it will tell you where you can get a picture with Santa. Usually Santa is at malls a lot of the time or stores. Then your kids will have a picture to hang on their wall and remember when they met Santa.

Ok, pretty good. I would approve of this, but I feel you need to have the Christmas tree up for at least another three days after Christmas.

Now something from me, I say that when it turns November, it’s all good. My friends say once Thanksgiving is over OR Black Friday is over, then you can put the decorations. Hehe, I already have my Christmas trees up in my room! And I want to go outside and put up ALL the Christmas lights. Then my friends will think I’m just weird like they always do. Hehe.

My favorite part of the movie 

I like the movie A Christmas story because it is a funny movie and it is fun to watch. My favorite part of the movie is the leg lamp that the dad gets and loves but the mom hates. To rap up the Christmas story review I think that this is a good movie and you should go watch it with your friends and family.

I like this movie but my favorite part of the movie is when they get their tree and they take it home and the dad cuts the rope and the tree is way too big and so the tree just kinda goes everywhere.

My favorite part of the movie

I really like this movie. This is my favorite Christmas movie, And my favorite part of the movie is when the robbers try to rob the house but Kevin already knew that they were coming so he had all the tarps setup and they still tried to rob the house.

The black community has organized protests down the streets of the country, to point out the racial injustice and Police cruelty in the state’s police stations and justice ruling system. These protests are to ask people not to stereotype them based on the color of their skin, and that the color of their skin doesn’t make them a criminal.

An organizer of a peaceful protest in East Liberty shares water with police supervising the event. Another group of people forms a chain to protect a white officer separated from his unit. Those men showed people that not all BLM protesters are bad and that not all of the police officers stereotype. With all the heat on the black community and the police, this is what our country needs more of.

Black lives matter, protests peaceful?

Police and the government justify sending out the military on civilian people by saying that they are riots and that they are disturbing the peace, yet they are only using their first amendment right of freedom of speech. 93% of BLM protests are peaceful but president Trump on Wednesday evening, Oct. 21, 2020, still claims that all BLM protests are illegal and are violent. Some groups are violent but that does not mean that all of the protests are bad, and are destroying property. So not only are they being judged on the color of their skin they are considered criminals for using their first amendment.

Police cruelty

There are many cases of police cruelty throughout the country. One instance of police cruelty is George Floyd, George Floyd was a victim of police brutality. One day when George Floyd was out driving, he didn’t notice that one of his tail lights was out. When he got pulled over the police officer asked him to step out of the car, when he refused because he had done nothing wrong, the police officer forcibly removed him from the vehicle and held him to the ground with his lag on his neck. He pleaded “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, they’re going to kill me man” as he capt pleading for mercy the police officer that was on top of him continued punching and elbowing him. He died in police custody. Other victims of police cruelty are Justin Howell, Sean Monterrosa. Throws are just three of the people surfing from police cruelty, and racial injustices.
