The 3 most influential thinkers of the past and how they can influence us today

Socrates

Focus on the mind and soul instead of the focus on wealth and body.

Socrates (470 bce-399 bce) said, “wealth does not bring goodness, but goodness brings wealth.” Socrates claimed that he never “taught”, but through asking questions and questioning the morals of the people. His main motivation was to seek out the questions he believed were crucial to humanity. Something like what is a virtue, what is morality.

Socrates taught through logical questioning and reasoning. Socrates’s philosophies and teachings taught “not examined life is not worth living” when we question the world and the answers that are given to us we can unearth much more than we previously thought.

Aristotle

Inventor of formal logic. He believed that separate virtues lead to true happiness.

(384 bc-322) Aristotle was most famously taught by Plato who was taught by Socrates. He was a master of many subjects including biology, ethics, metaphysics, zoology, and many others subjects. Aristotle taught primarily on biology instead of ethics like Plato, and each individual is made with patterns and development that we as human beings grow as a group.

He believed that the final product of what we become as humanity is the purpose we were designed for. He claims that there is a permanent and unchanging source of goodness in humanity and that as we strive to do overall good things we can become better people from it.

Plato

Virtue-based impressionistic conception of ethics, or the view that the highest point you can reach is the happiness of the moral being.

Plato (428-7-348-7) taught rationality through systematic and logical thinking. Plato believed that through control of the emotional reaction and balance between the three souls (he taught to reason, spirit, and appetite). Plato taught logically and in modern times what he taught would be considered science.

He taught that happiness was the highest you could get in morality and that through logical control of emotions. Similarly to Confusions, he taught that virtue in oneself brings him closer to what he believed to be the highest humanity could reach.

My Top 10 Albums of All Time

I will be listing my top 10 albums of all time, at this current moment. My music taste usually consists of alternative pop, indie pop/rock, rock, and rap. I like almost anything except country music. Now, let’s get with it!

10. THE FUTURE IS DARK by Lil Darkie

This album is super cool. All the transitions make it so cool to listen to. I love every single track on this, which is pretty rare. The mix of loud and angry songs mixed with sad and melancholic songs. My favorite tracks are: HUMANS AND MONSTERS, i know i know, AMERICAN SLAVE, house made of ash, and human insignificance.

9. Electra Heart by MARINA

This album is an amazing classic, and I had a hard time placing it. I love so many of the songs on here, they’re such fun and cool songs to listen to. Marina is so talented, and has such amazing and unique lyrics. My favorite tracks are: Lies, Starring Role, Fear and Loathing, Teen Idle, Lonely Hearts Club, and Valley of the Dolls.

8. Cry Baby by Melanie Martinez

I adore this album so very much. The whole aesthetic sticks to the album the whole time, and makes it so fun. It also has a mix of dark topics, so it always makes this an interesting listen. I love the story it includes, and how it covers all the topics it mentions. My favorite tracks are: Sippy Cup, Mrs. Potato Head, Cake, and Play Date.

7. Plastic Beach by Gorillaz

I absolutely love the vibe of this album and all the sounds. It’s so atmospheric, and can make you feel like you’re somewhere completely different. It gets a bonus point because of the amount of lore that comes with it. My favorite tracks are: Rhinestone Eyes, To Binge, Superfast Jellyfish, Pirate Jet, On Melancholy Hill, and Broken.

6. IGOR by Tyler, the Creator

I didn’t start liking rap entirely until the end of 2023. But this album is a masterpiece. I love the whole story with it too. It makes it even more interesting to see how the perspective changes throughout the album. My favorite tracks are: NEW MAGIC WAND, A BOY IS A GUN*, EARFQUAKE, ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?, and I THINK.

5. Gorillaz by Gorillaz

The variety throughout this album is incredible. This is what changed and started everything for Gorillaz. The blend of style and genres is insane. The nonsensical part of it is what makes it so cool and interesting. My favorite tracks are: Double Bass, Punk, Left Hand Suzuki Method, Clint Eastwood, Slow Country, Re-Hash, 5/4, 19-2000, and M1 A1.

4. The Now Now by Gorillaz

I really love all the sounds and feel of this album. It’s super underrated, and deserves more attention and love. It’s mostly a blue and sad album. I like to usually describe it like a day at the beach, but you’re too sad to enjoy it. My favorite tracks are: Souk Eye, One Percent, Fire Flies, Idaho, and Tranz.

3. Demon Days by Gorillaz

The variety throughout this album is so cool and fun to listen to. It changes so quickly, but in an amazing way. The music videos and art style are so visually appealing and cool to look at. I don’t skip anything from this album. My favorite tracks are: Kids with Guns, El Mañana, White Light, Feel Good Inc, and Last Living Souls.

2. PORTALS by Melanie Martinez

The transitions, oh my god. The new sound from Melanie is such a bop. I could listen to it all on repeat, over and over. I love the whole aesthetic and all the important messages in each song. I love listening to this, it makes me feel transported somewhere else. My favorite tracks are: SPIDER WEB, THE CONTORTIONIST, LIGHT SHOWER, FAERIE SOIREE, EVIL, and NYMPHOLOGY.

1.The Family Jewels by MARINA

I made this album first for many reasons. It has almost everything fulfilling, and perfect for an album that I love. The variety in its genres and style, the meanings, the aesthetic, the nostalgia, it’s perfect for me. I could listen to this anytime. It has every mood or emotion you’d want to feel or express. My favorite tracks are: Are You Satisfied?, Oh No!, Mowgli’s Road, Hermit the Frog, The Family Jewels, Girls, and Numb.

I love music so much, and how it can give you so many different emotions. I’m always listening to something. Now that I’ve listed mine, and all my reasons, what are your favorite albums?

Overrated things that are popular (In my opinion)

Ever wonder why the item/food/tv show/movie that you think wasn’t even that good is in the top ratings? Well this is the article for you.

I’m saying popular things that I think are overrated. Number one the series of star wars (Sorry not sorry). Not all kids watch star wars, and if they are they are probably over the age of 8. Not all of the movies/shows that they make are good like the lowest rating one is one of the recent ones, the rise of the skywalker got a 3.3 rating. Number 2 of overrated things is cupcakes. Cupcakes are good when they are baked properly and that’s a rare chance, and people usually buy it from a common store like Walmart and they ONLY taste like frosting. Number three another movie/tv show that is overrated is Stranger things, look the best season is 3 and the worst has to be the first or the last season. I’m saying this because not only were lots of people saying it was scary when it wasn’t but the people watching the show(fandom) ruined it. Lots of people ruined it Stranger Things - Wikipedia

Number four is overrated is the sport golf. You can get a lot of money from doing this like Tiger Woods did but the crowd and the game is so boring to watch. All you do while you’re there is just stand up and watch men/women hit a little white ball and they walk back and forth. Number five is the second part of a Disney movie. Not all of them have a second part but if they do it will either be better than the first one or worse which is the case for lots of movies.

There are lots of more things but here are some foods that are a little overrated:

Number six: Goldfish. Goldfish is the snack that smiles back but why and how did it blow up even more than it has, like when our vending machine was working in the school the goldfish would always be gone, yes it is very good but not the number one Amazon.com : Goldfish Cheddar Crackers, Snack Crackers, 30 oz carton : Everything Else

Another food for number seven or more so dessert is dark chocolate anything. It can help with some of your diet but other than that it is disgusting and is always on the shelves in the store isles. And everyone knows that milk chocolate and white chocolate are better (well I hope so).

Number eight: A drink that is popular but is overrated/overpriced is the Ice or any flavored water. Flavored water is disgusting, there are barely any good flavors in there.

Another thing is neon colors. They are pretty when they are worn the right way but they usually aren’t. They can be very pretty in the dark but depending on some of them they can look kind of weird when it is daytime out

Number nine: the one that I just wanted to say is the series of Rick and Morty. It was not that good to be watching all the time. And you will somewhat get bored of the show and mainly the people who are watching are late teens or early kids Rick and Morty (TV Series 2013– ) - IMDb

Number ten: Netiflix, I’m only putting this on the list because they have taken out some of their best shows/movies and replaced it with newer tv shows that suck. They really added some baby talking instead of Dora, like c’mon?

Number twelve: Arby’s: Their meat is dry and is way overrated. I think they are only have at least 5 decent items but they need to cook their meat longer. These are only some of many but this is 12 overrated things.

Imagine biting into a soft warm cookie, and allowing the sweet chocolaty flavor to melt on your tongue. On the site “Chow”, Christine Gallary told us how to make chocolate chip cookies. Next up is Party Vegan’s article. The cookie tasted unusual, and it had a strange taste from my point of view. This cookie doesn’t taste like a typical cookie. I was truly eager to make it, but it just tasted gross. I was very disappointed. It just tasted like a ripoff. Also, they didn’t alter the recipe ingredients that much, even though it changed the taste. It was crumbly too and was not soft or chewy.

Personally, between the two recipes, I think you should make the first one by Christine Gallary because it is just simply a yummy cookie. If you like crunchy cookies, then the article from Party Vegan is for you, but if you like soft and chewy cookies, the article from Christine Gallary is for you. As you can see, there are lots of other kinds of cookies, so you should get out of your comfort zone and try to make different cookies.

People are always disagreeing on whether Androids or iPhones are better? They disagree because they don’t know and they decide the one they have is better than the other phone. People think their phone is better here are some reasons why. Some people think iPhone’s are better because they believe they are easier to use and they have more apps created by the company “Apple ” so they think it’s automatically better. Some people with Androids think that their phones are better because they have expandable memory and they have lots of hardware innovations.

Pros and Cons of Androids and iPhones

Why Androids are better than iPhone’s. There is a lot more privacy on their phones than on iPhone’s which means more parents will want to buy that for themselves and their kids. And if there are parents who don’t trust their kids with a phone or are scared to give them one but still want to communicate with them they can buy a gab phone. Gab phones are kid-friendly and they can not do anything but text, call, look at the weather, and for the music, they listen to the radio which is explicit. These are some reasons Androids are better than iPhone’s.

Both have millions of apps available in their respective app stores. Androids and iPhones have a lot of similarities like those but are still very different.” Another Quote from Tink Blog is, “There isn’t much you can do on Android that you can’t do on iPhone and there isn’t much you can do on iPhone that you can’t do on Android. Both iOS and Android can do video calls with native apps” So there are a lot of similarities between these two devices.

There are a lot of similarities but there are also a lot of differences. A man named Codrut Neagu from Digital Citizens said “I do not like some of the default apps that come with the iPhone. Safari, Apple Maps, Photos, and Mail, for instance, are not as good as Google Chrome, Google Maps, Google Photos, or Gmail.” But He also said that “Although Apple removed the headphone jack on its latest iPhone models, the ring/silent hardware switch is still present.” So there are a lot of reasons why iPhones and Androids are very different.

Which One is Better?

In conclusion, now that you know more about both devices, what one would you prefer to have? I think that Androids are better because they are safer and more private. They have a wider variety of phones by many different companies like gab phones. They also have longer battery life. They have apps that you can download that aren’t only specific to Apple. You can add additional storage without having to upgrade your phone. They cost quite a bit less and offer many similar features that you can get on the more expensive iPhone.
